Tropical Palms Plantation Beach Cottage - Historic Encinitas Walking District

Great decor, great landscaping, great amenities, great location!

The cottage was beautiful and very well outfitted. We didn't have a chance to take advantage of all that this cottage has to offer but if we had had time, it would have been great.Eric (the host) was available and responsive. The location is close to downtown with lots of restaurants and coffee shops. The train station is a couple of blocks away and there is EV charging close also.My wife and I definitely recommend this.

We continue to come back to this rental because it's by far the best place we've ever stayed. We love all the amenities in the lodging; the fire pits, the tiki tub, it's all just so incredible relaxing and serene. Eric, Anne, and adorable pup Juan are fantastic hosts and always responsive. Best of all this place is always spotlessly clean. We can't wait to come back and enjoy this rental again and again.

The moment you step through the front gate, the cottage grabbed you with the beautiful tropical manicured yard, then to step into a tropical themed cottage that was cute and cozy. Eric has spared no expense in providing his guests with all the amenities and then some, to the wood burning fireplace, the cute hot tub off the bedroom and an amazing well stocked kitchen! We had a perfect stay. The house is very well appointed, well-maintained and included every amenity that you would hope for. Owner communicated very well.

Property management lives nearby and are nice and communicative. Place has a lot of charm and is plenty of space for 2, even the kitchenware is top quality. Location is hard to beat in Encinitas, walkable to restaurants and the beach and between the 5 and 101 but not too close to either. Would book again

From the minute you step through the gate into your private oasis, you are immediately “home”. Eric has poured so much love and thoughtful design into every square inch of this property. Easy access to the freeway and downtown. We spent ever single morning and afternoon on one of the patios drinking coffee or sipping wine. The neighborhood is so quiet and peaceful you never want to leave. Trust me! And for those concerned about the owner living on property-it’s all what you make of it. They are so helpful and friendly or will complete leave you to your day if that’s what you choose. Not intrusive at all. You will love it here. Trust me!!

Incredible setup with everything we needed!

This was a 10/10! Honestly, the cleanest and most well equipped rental I’ve been to. The hosts are wonderful. They were accommodating and very communicative. The house was amazing. Perfect location, walkable to the beach and main strip. The space itself is beautiful! Bright and airy. Very comfortable bed, nice bathroom. The kitchen is stocked for serious cooking, there are plenty of towels, bathrobes, beach gear and extra blankets. And of course the outdoor space was incredible. We traveled with our baby and loved being able to have outdoor space to relax after her early bedtime. Highly recommend. We’ll be back and hope to use the tiki hot tub next time!

My husband and I vacation on Encinitas often and this was our first stay at Eric’s place. We loved it and plan to return! Well appointed and cozy! We didn’t need to bring anything and the place was very comfortable and clean. Eric was very responsive to any questions we had and told us he has plans this year to add a few more features to the home. This “bungalow” is a perfect space for a couple.Thank you so much!

Really nice--and comfortable house. Kitchen has everything needed for cooking. Nice fireplaces (inside and out) and a cool small hot tub.And great to meet the caretaker--Juan the black lab!

This was our second time to stay at Eric’s Palm tree oasis. We are so comfortable there, feel so relaxed, and love the vibe. I made sure to use the patios more this time. At night, we lit the awesome fireplace in the living room. He made some nice updates with the surround sound and ambiance.

The PBC was absolutely adorable! Perfect for 2 people. Everything was very clean, and the home had most everything you would need for a stay in Encinitas. The kitchen was well stocked. The grounds are amazing! I especially loved the outdoor fireplace in the front yard, I used that all of the time. It has a gas start and then the super dry wood took off immediately. I would read my book in front of it daily. Parking was easy, and always available on the street or in the grass driveway. I highly recommend the place!!!

While Eric the owner is very nice, the listing is not entirely accurate. The owner lives in the guest house behind the home you are renting. You will hear water running through the pipes when you are not using any water. The bedroom is so bright at night I found it hard to sleep although the bed was comfortable. Location is great. VRBO should require that it be disclosed about the owner living on the property. I traveled alone but if i would have been with my family i would have been even more disappointed.

very pleasantly surprised as to the quality of the home.. all amenities were top notched.. cottage was very cooly decorated, bed was comfortable. ,, outside living area was quiet and relaxing.. could not have asked for a better accomadation...
