Honey House is a finely finished piece of craftsmanship. Easy access, no stairs. It is a stand-alone 480 square foot garden bungalow.
Hardwoods accent the living area. The full bath features a tiled shower, granite counter, and access to a garden lanai. We feature whole house water filtration and UV treatment, with regular ph adjustment so you can drink from any faucet in the house. The kitchen has a gas range and all kinds of cooking equipment. There is a king size bed and a big fluffy futon couch that can be turned into a 2nd bed if needed.

We have fiberoptic wifi. Works for Zoom and phone calls, streaming, etc.

Honey House has a floor and a ceiling fan, screened windows, windows that close in case of wind or rain, curtains for privacy. On site host in separate house in case you need anything.

We offer plenty of fresh fruit from our orchards, whatever is in season. Oranges, lemons, avocados and bananas are usually available during winter months. Exotics like mangosteen and jaboticaba happen periodically. In the orchard is a shared outdoor shower, hot & cold, also filtered and drinkable.

We are located on a secluded clothing optional acre in Kehena Beach Estates, on the the Puna coastline, and most easily accessed from Hilo airport. We are only 5 minutes walk from Kehena black sand beach yet surrounded by fruit trees, fragrant flowers, and edible gardens. The song of the frogs, crickets and toads have a delightful natural rhythm that puts us to sleep every night. We have colorful house geckos, a suite of outdoor cats and muscovy ducks, and sometimes wild pigs visit. Temperatures in the winter are sometimes in the sixties at night and usually in the eighties by mid day. Winter is humpback whale season and whale song can sometimes be heard at night right from your bed.

You can walk two blocks down our quiet street to the end and then take a neighborhood trail that comes out on Kalapana Kapoho Road right across from the beach. Or take the road all the way. Hawaiian spinner dolphins often stop in for a visit to our beach. Kehena Beach faces east. It is sunny in the morning and shady in the afternoon. Quiet and often nearly deserted in the morning, a big party with drumming every Sunday afternoon.

Island paradise nestled in tropical foilage with walking distance to the powerful Pacific Ocean. People in the neighborhood are laid back & friendly. The bungalow is spacious and equipped with the essentials. Dave was very welcoming and generous to share his knowledge of the ecosystem and the surrounding community.

The property is a simple bungalow near the sea. It's a large room with a bed and sofa, a galley kitchen and bathroom and shower. The kitchen has the essentials, including microwave and coffee maker. The bungalow is set in a nicely wooded lot, with lots of cats, ducks and fruit trees. In the tropics, bugs are inevitable, but they were not a problem. The beach is about a 5 minute walk: ask about the path to avoid having to walk on the busy road. The owner is very friendly and helpful. We've stayed many times, always enjoyed it and always look forward to staying again.

We had a great time staying at Honey House. Fresh fruit - oranges, Avocados, limes, eggplant courtesy of our host and owner Dave. Also, the best knives. We felt like we were one with the tropical jungle. Dave is a great host with a ton of local knowledge. This is not a resort area, but there are local farmers markets and small groceries and organic fare close by. The coast is amazing for the.views. Many places to pull off and enjoy the crashing waves.and see the results of the 2018 Volcanic eruption. Very humbling. We highly recommend Dave’s place for those who don’t expect a resort. Mahalo Dave.

One of the most beautiful places in the world imho! Dave is so kind. He spent several hours answering my questions about botany and geology. He shared produce from his garden. Dave was always unobtrusively available. We felt so completely at home, yet also like we were in a wonderful dream. We went to Kona for two days and endured the craziness and chaos…. couldn’t wait to get back to Ole Ole Street! We can’t wait to visit again!!

We enjoyed our stay immensely. It was the best Hawaiian vacation yet! Better than Maui or Kauai. Far away from the resorts, the house is on a piece of land surrounded by floura and fauna on the SE corner of the island. The sound of the birds were magical, almost hypnotic. We loved our daily visits from the kitties and ducks. It is walking distance to a black sand beach which was our favorite on the island. It is down the road from a hippyish farmers market. One review I read said it’s a place for vegan crazed hippies which is correct and great! We didn’t get to go to the live music on Wednesday nights. Pahoa was cool and we loved Kaleos. Dave was our favorite host, he is has great energy and obviously loves the life he lives on this beautiful land.

The property is a small studio bungalow. The kitchen has the necessities: stove, fridge, coffee maker, pots, pans, etc. The bathroom is clean. The main room has a comfortable king bed, sofa and dinner table. The new high speed Wifi was a pleasant surprise and makes up for the absence of a cell signal. David is super friendly and accommodating. The yard is a working food forest, complemented by ducks and cats (lots of cats). The gifts of fresh fruit and avocados were very welcome! The beach is a short walk, but everything else is a drive, so it's a good idea to stock up before heading down. This was our third or maybe fourth stay and we've always enjoyed it. We're looking forward to another visit, hopefully not too long from now!

Quaint property tucked away in a quiet neighborhood and very close to the beach. It’s a little far from activities but a nice change to get off the grid and unwind.
