A convenient location for our stay on the Big Island, the new shopping area was excellent for groceries if we decided to cook at the house and the location to Volcano National Park was awesome. The house was well stocked with everything that we needed and the communication from the owner was second to none as he checked in almost daily to make sure that we were satisfied with everything. We would stay again if we ever visit Hawaii's Big Island. Thank you!

This house was a perfect spot for exploring the Island. The layout of the house is perfect for families or couples sharing the property. The kitchen was well equipped and we loved the porch on the back. Our only regret is that we were only at the property for 3 nights. We would love to visit again and spend much longer so we could explore the area more. When I did have any questions the host Robert answered within minutes. Although we did not have enough time to make full use of it we there was a lovely beach park and access to the ocean within walking distance. Also within a 10 minute drive there is a very good shopping centre with a great supermarket. Our main reason for visiting was to spend time at the Volcanoes National Park which was only 40 minutes away. Having said that we did also get across to Kona to snorkel with the Manta Rays at night and managed a visit to Mauna Kea which was breathtaking.

Nice three bedroom house with a big back yard. Found what we needed in the kitchen. There were beach towels and snorkeling gear for us to use.

Great house to stay in for some relaxation on the east side of the island. Location was 30-35 minutes from Hilo, but no problems navigating all around the east side. And there were some wonderful restaurants nearby!

Roberts property was exactly what we were looking for. Everything went extremely smooth. From the self check-in process, the helpful information available throughout the home, to the easy peasy check out process. Robert was not over bearing, he sent us one message welcoming us and offering assistance should we need it which I thought was great! I highly recommend Roberts property and I would definitely stay here again.Mahalo Nui, The Laikupu ohana

We stayed here for 3 nights and this was the second time we stayed here. The house is amazing and allows visitors to live more like a local than a tourist. The beds are comfortable and the amenities exceptional. The grill was great to cook on and the lanai super relaxing. I didn't think it would be even better the second time but it was!

Overall, it’s a nice clean house, but really there’s no comfortable chair or couch to sit on in the living room to watch the TV. The couches a futon with the springs popping out in the two chairs he had were not comfortable to sit in. Don’t get me wrong I’m a 6 foot three man so it’s hard for me to find a comfortable chair. Overall nice place good shopping center up the street about 5 miles good food at the Black rock Café. Just kind of far from Hilo and lots of traffic to get to it in and out.

We came to explore the island trails (hiking and snorkeling) and did much driving (1 to 2.5 hours each way a day) and hiking so our time at the rental was limited to sleeping and eating, showering, doing laundry (a fantastic outdoor sink to clean gear) and using the WiFi (great signal). Everything worked well for our needs. We appreciated the owner’s response time to one of our requests and their generosity in supplying masks, snorkels, chairs etc for our water time explorations. Watching the volcano erupt at Volcano National Park was a highlight of our trip. Many thanks to the owners for sharing their home with us.

This is a very unique experience we all had. Chirping birds, abundant greenscape, large windows with good cross ventilation, thoughtful amenities throughout. 7 min walk to the ocean. 10 min drive to shopping area. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The home was exactly as advertised. It was a nice place for my wife and I to enjoy some time away. It was a bit further from Pahoa than we expected, and having to bring our own water for drinking was inconvenient, but overall we definitely enjoyed our stay and used the snorkeling equipment.

The area was ok and the lanai was lovely. It was nice to have 2 bathrooms. It was very warm and there was an off putting smell in the house. We took pictures of the less than clean bathrooms and some other areas. If this had been a hotel, we would not have stayed, but we felt stuck having booked the place for 6 nights. Our second vrbo for the second half of the trip feels like a breath of fresh air.
