Met family at the river cabin close to Christmas and it’s such an amazing little hideaway. The river wraps all the way around the property and you can hear it all day long. Such a peaceful little place!
We stayed at this beautiful cabin for 5 nights in October 2023. If you are looking for seclusion and to unplug, this is the cabin. Everything mentioned in the description is accurate and we found the cabin to be furnished comfortably and beautifully with little details galore. The coffee area was spectacular and everything you could possibly want was provided to make a great cup of tea or coffee. Sit on the porches and watch the wildlife walk through the yard. Daily we saw turkey and deer. The cabin was very clean and the kitchen was well equipped for cooking. Wifi was fine for minimal use but take note that there is no cell signal so turning your phone to WiFi calling worked for texts and calls. The walk down to the creek was steep so I recommend good walking shoes and perhaps a walking stick for stability (provided on the porch). Once you get down to the water, sit on the rocks and just listen and watch. The sounds and sights were so soothing. You can hear the rushing water just fine from the porch for those not able to make the walk down. We will definitely return to this lovely piece of paradise. While in the area, go to Floyd, Meadows of Dan, Chateau Morrissette winery and just ride the back roads and enjoy the scenery. Beautiful part of VA
We were lucky enough to find this cabin available for an October weekend. The cabin is beautiful and welcoming. It felt more like we were visiting friends than renting. Watching the leaves fall while listening to the creek was so relaxing and a perfect way to unwind. The beds are comfortable in the house is well equipped. The directions were spot on, and we had no trouble locating the property. Communicating with the owner was extremely easy and they were very responsive. Communicating with the owner was extremely easy and they were very responsive. Our only regret is that we were only able to stay two nights. We will definitely be back.
The title says it all. If you want to recharge, this is the place.
Beautiful cabin and surrounding property. Remote, private and peaceful. Large, roaring creek on 3 sides, but the side at the back of the cabin is the most beautiful. Everything that we needed and more. I would definitely stay there again!
Amazing time staying here. Perfect get away. So peaceful and serine. Beautiful house and property.
If you are looking to reconnect with family, this is the cabin for you. We cooked our meals in the fully stocked kitchen, played games around the table, hiked the gorgeous property & made s’mores around the fire pit. We cannot wait to book our next family escape to this one of a kind cabin.
My family spent Thanksgiving here and it did not disappoint. It was decorated beautiful. The pictures does not do this cabin justice. Beautiful location and cabin. It fit our family perfect!! We saw deer coming and going on the property along with turkeys. The deck with the hammock was perfect for relaxing and listening to the water from the river. Tranquil Mtn hideaway is by far the most well stocked kitchen with everything you could ever need. Don’t let the vintage stove intimidate you. I loved it, and it did great for our Thanksgiving meal. Just bring your food and you are set. We will definitely visit again!!!!
This place is so much more than the pictures show. It is well off the road and surrounded on 3 sides by the river. Large wrap around porch with rocking chairs, swing and hammock. The kitchen has everything you need to cook at home. The oven was difficult for us to determine the temp but we are not used to cooking with gas. We did a lot if driving around to view the fall colors but i plan onbooking some time next summer and bringing some books to just stay at the house and relax. Cellular coverage with verizon was spotty at the cabin

The property was beautiful. The pictures do not come close to showing how amazing of a spot it is. Completely secluded. The cabin was well maintained, and stocked to the brim with everything you could want. My husband and daughter did a bit of tubing right from the bottom of the property. We enjoyed the mornings on the beautiful wrap around deck, and we had a great campfire a few nights. This was the perfect place to spend quality time together with family. My 19 year old twins (son and daughter) my 73 year old dad, and my husband and I all really had a wonderful time. Also, I can not say enough about the responsiveness of Harold, I loved that he checked in with us, and when I reached out about a familial situation he was amazingly understanding. We would love to come back
Awesome place for solitude and being close to nature.
We had an 8-night stay at the cabin and highly recommend it if you’re looking for seclusion, relaxation, and nature. As others have said, the cabin is better than it appears in the photos. The photos are dark because the cabin is surrounded by a covered deck on all four sides. We enjoyed relaxing on the deck while listening to the sound of the creek. A doe frequently brought her fawn through the backyard much to our delight. My daughter and husband caught some nice rainbow trout in the creek. The cabin interior was very clean and the beds and furnishings were comfortable. The kitchen was well-stocked and enough paper products were supplied for our stay. We were warned that the internet was slow, but it was actually adequate for email and web-surfing. We enjoyed the puzzles and games provided in the cabin. There was a fabulous thunderstorm which caused power to be out for a few hours, but the back-up generator immediately turned on. The communication with the owners was excellent. Due to the remote location, I would advise arriving before dark if possible. If you’re looking for a place to relax and disconnect a bit, we highly recommend this cabin. We would definitely stay here again!
