This setting offers such a perfect beach stay you will want to return year after year! Whether you are looking for a family vacation, couple's retreat or simply to reconnect with a group of friends, this property is equipped and located to provide wonderful memories that will last your lifetime.

This is a two bedroom, one full bath home, which comfortably sleeps 4 total , offers an amazing view above the dunes from the sun room for daily dolphin and sunset watching. Townbank is known for spectacular sunset viewing.. People come from all around just to watch the grand colors provided nightly as the sun sinks slowly into the horizon over the water. Staying here ensures you the premium, unobstructed view of this daily event from both inside the home or the fenced in yard at no additional cost!

The home has air conditioning window units, however guests equally enjoy opening the many windows to fully experience the ocean breeze, peaceful lapping waves and sea gulls beckoning you to enjoy your day on the quiet, non-crowded beach which awaits just outside your door. This area is perfect for strolling about on the beach (no beach tags required!) or biking along the safe shore road that runs directly in front of the cottage.

The Cape May-Lewis Ferry is just over a mile down the road. If you want to hit the boardwalk at night, Cape May is 10 minutes by car and Wildwood is close. Nearby there are wineries, shops, galleries and gourmet restaurants. Harpoons on the Bay, beach front restaurant is just a few blocks walk down the road and a great place to dine in if you aren't in the mood to cook! You can have a few drinks and simply walk home; no need to worry about driving! A quick trip to the market is only a few minutes by car. Major highways are accessible just outside of town, yet traffic is not a problem while staying in Townbank. The “small town feel” is comforting while strolling or biking throughout the town.

The house is comfortably furnished for your enjoyment. *NEW* FLOORS 2026. no more carpet, you will love it ! The eat in kitchen comfortably seats six and offers views directly out the sliding glass doors. The grand deck offers relaxing seating while overlooking the water, or just a place to hang-out and watch the dolphins or sunsets.

The cottage sits in a white picket fenced in yard and offers plenty of space for outdoor fun. Beach access is simply through the gate, down the short, gently sloping dune and you are on our quiet, peaceful, non-crowded beach. It's easy to go back and forth from your “beach camp” to access a snack, drink or the bathroom as you enjoy the tranquil setting of what seems to be a private beach.
I have chosen native landscaping that provides food and shelter for wild life.. Rather than tearing down this old beach house I Have decided to maintain it. Most guests appreciate the cozy comfortable nature of this home. I don't want you to be disappointed,

DON'T BELIEVE THE PHOTOS. This place is not just outdated, it's downright nasty. Spiders, ants, cobwebs, i was scared to sit on anything i put blankets down over everything. Clothsline and outdoor shower enveloped in vines and completely inaccessible, see photos. We could barely get to the front door. No kayak, no beach chairs, no usable grill. Dirty worn out carpet, chair, couch. Trundle bed mattress was filthy, didn't even use it. The ONLY good thing was the proximity to the water and the ability to see the bay from the back deck. Which had a loose board on the top step and broken chairs. No lighting down the whole side of the house, very dangerous. Landscaping is atrocious, the whole place is covered in vines, burrs on half the lawn, dead stuff cut and left to turn brown. The bedroom window was partially open and vines were GROWING IN THE WINDOW. TV is not mounted on the wall, it's on a rickety old stand. I wish i could include more photos.... please read AND BELIEVE the reviews, don't do it.

I am really disappointed in this property. It looked nothing like the photos and the floors were sticky and unclean. I went out and bought my own mop the first night to preclean. The small rooms air conditioner had black mold and there was a TREE coming into the other bedroom. The coffee maker and ice maker and one of the air cons was broken. Every night I laid away worried about bugs. The outdoor shower was not accessible and looked like it hadn’t been used for years. Not as advertised. The last annual fire marshal inspection was from 2020. Luckily it was very close to beach. VRBO, you should NoT represent this house. I’ve never had a problem with VRBO but am not sure I want to use this company again. The owners lived next door and the comments in the guest book from the last visitor said they were mean and unhelpful. I’m a single mom and didn’t want to put my kids in a dangerous situation so I didn’t say anything bc of safety.

The location was nice and close to the beach. The house was not kept up with. The ac unit in the second bedroom was not cooling at all and there was mold around all of the ac units on the property. It was 90 degrees on the inside with all the ac units running. After reading the last entry in the guest book, it was apparent the owner would be of no help. We ended up paying it forward and buying a new window unit for the second bedroom so that we could sleep at night. Half of the yard is overgrown with prickly weeds. It looked like there may have been a kayak and a raft float in there but they were inaccessible.

So much to say. The place is a disaster. Difficulty with lockbox. Finally entered and we were totally shocked. It was a hot dirty disaster. Big issue with electrical box tripping off. Stopped counting our resets after 50 times. Contacted Gary about everything and he seemed to be clueless. Electrical issue was addressed on or last day. The house was NEVER cool. Window in 2nd BR was down. Unable to lift it. Plant life coming in as well as hot air despite the AC being on 60. The kichen and bath were extremely warm. Ant traps everywhere. Hair was in the tub( not our) and. Dirty rag left on bathrrom floor. Windows were filthy. The contraption in living room was main AC. Duct taped into place. We were refunded 100 for the AC issues. We should be refunded at least half of what we paid.Sunroom had no shades adding to the heat issue. All the shades were either broken or in some form of brokenness. We stayed in many VRBO and by far this was absolute worst. Outside shower is a hose. Grill, dont go there. No umbrella on a sun deck.

We had a wonderful stay in Cape May! The home was perfect for what we needed: full stove (gas burners - bonus!), full size fridge, grill, fire pit, yard for dogs to run, beautiful view of the water from the home. We had a small issue with the a/c unit and we were able to fix it and the renter refunded us some money which definitely wasn’t expected, and we were very thankful! Also, we had only positive interactions with the owners and the locals were very friendly.

The property met all the hype- everything they said/ people wrote in their review was accurate. We were happy/ and our dogs got to run around in a fenced-in yard... It was a pleasant stay.

The property has two cottages and since the web site shows the pictures for both, we did not know which one we rented until we arrive. We called the property owner several times to figure out which cottage we rented and its entrance hidden by overgrown vegetation at the back. When we entered the brown cottage we were welcomed with an overwhelmingly strong dog urine smell. The carpets in the living room and the bedrooms were full of large stains. Combined with very worn out wooden furniture, broken lamp shades and upholstered rocking chair w/ questionable large stains, our first impression of the place was awful. When we entered the rooms it got worse. In the room with the trundle bed, there were large urine stains covering half of the mattress which made us gag. We immediately turned on all the ac units and open the windows to air the space. My husband left to buy cleaning supplies and room air refreshener sprays and additional bed covers and linens. We sprayed all the carpeted areas and mattresses with air refreshener and wiped all the wood furniture with Clorox and covered not only the mattresses but all the upholstered furniture with linens to make the odor bearable. When we got out the deck to see the ocean, we were furthered disappointed with the broken glass table with glass pieces spread all around the deck. This is our worst renting experience ever. We paid $1643 for 3 nights. It is obvious that there is no inspection done by VRBO for this property for a long time.

The “natural’ bushes in the yard are so overgrown you had to walk through sticker plants to access the property. The front bushes contained garbage. Backyard and a portion of back deck were taken over by weeds. No rabbits but countless bugs-ants, wasps, bees. The deck sling back chairs were useable but patio table was broken and glass was strewn in deck crevices. Glass stuck to the bottom of our shoes. The deck umbrella was broken as were the Adirondack chairs. Sliders were covered with dog slobber and curtain covering them was filthy. Dog fur on furniture and carpet. Air conditioners are heavily covered with mold (health hazard). Mold on bathroom ceiling and refrigerator. The furniture is stained so badly that we sat on our beach chairs. The kitchen table and end tables falling apart. Every coffee mug is stained. The stained carpeting is also torn up in spots. Dust webs on the walls, ceiling fans and the lamps. Piles of dirt in the corners. This place has not been cleaned in a very long time. Broken blinds. Electric outlet hanging out- a hazard. Most disgusting is mattresses. Plastic sheet placed over the many pee stains on twin. Other had no cover. Not enough room for all issues like 1/2 roll tp, tv not working, no 5th bed etc. We had to leave. I have pics of everything. Refund?

The house, as promised, was rustic. It's old and kinda rough, but I wasn't surprised bc that was discussed in all the comments. The LOCATION was spectacular and we were surrounded by million dollar homes. The beach was steps away and there were NO CROWDS. To stand alone on a beach in Cape May in the middle of July just blew me away. As far as the house, the bathroom was very clean, the kitchen was somewhat clean, the bedrooms were fine and the yard was rough. I don't mind the overgrowth but all the broken furniture in the pile on the deck and the rusty bikes just all should have been removed. The carpets were gross, the place smelled pretty bad but we febreezed a lot and opened windows. We will definetly come back to Town Bank but we'll pay a little more to stay at a cleaner place. All said, I feel very lucky to have found this rental (it fit our budget), it introduced us to North Cape May and gave us the opportunity to see what else is out there. Gary did not overpromise, we got exactly what he said. Overall we had a fantastic vacation and we fell in love with the area.
