The Neighborhood:

Shaw neighborhood is home to the beautiful Missouri Botanical Gardens, Tower Grove Park, and Forest Park. Forest Park alone has miles of tree-lined paths, playgrounds, fountains, as well as other exciting points of interest. Tons of restaurants can be found on Grand Ave, and many more Italian restaurants on The Hill nearby. You’re near major freeways so scheduling a visit to a Cardinals game is a breeze. You can also visit the Arch, stop by beautiful Soulard, or tour the Anheuser-Busch brewery.



The Shaw neighborhood is a mix of stately, turn-of-the-last-century homes and well-maintained apartments in classic brick. You'll find university and medical students living alongside professionals, many young families, and long-term residents. It's diverse and friendly. Residents are quiet and respectful. You'll mostly want to drive or Uber/Lyft to get around as the street is residential for several city blocks.



Getting Around:

The best way to get around is by car with most highways conveniently nearby. You can also use the Metrolink light rail system to get to many major attractions. Metro's efficient light rail system offers stops throughout the city.



St. Louis also has both UBER and Lyft available. You'll also see lots of Lime and Bird electric scooters throughout the city, so you can zoom wherever you'd like!

TRUST & SAFETY

    We enjoyed our stay. The home was family-friendly. Communication with our host was direct and easy. We appreciated the open space downstairs for the little ones to play. Location was excellent! We were within 10-15 minutes of the Science Center, the Aquarium @ Union Station, and the Magic House MADE for kids.

    Our initial part of our party checked in without incident. We arrived at midnight to find the garage door opener not working, the free street parking full and the management rep, although kind, unable to provide a solution. Thank goodness my husband and son figured out how to fix it enough to get us in the garage. I am hopeful that the management company will get this straightened out and having it working consistently for the next guests. This property was clean, stocked well with paper products and bath and kitchen essentials. It was a nice location and we had ample space. The giant kitchen counter was a wonderful place to have our meals together. I learned that a townhouse doesn’t mean a side by side dwelling but can include an upper and lower apartment style experience. The various guests upstairs made the noise level for us very distracting especially before 7am and after 10pm. This is not a complaint about the guests we shared this house with. It is an observation experienced I am sharing so others can make an informed choice because with property sound truly travels. I am sure our sounds were heard upstairs too. The wifi at times was weak, intermittent and caused a lot of buffering time. Thanks to the City Museum, JJs kid zone and the fresh snowfall for our southern family the wifi situation was manageable. We all agreed the property appearance was very pleasant. it was what we couldn’t see that left us giving a less than 5 star rating.

    Beautiful home, spacious, great kitchen & nice clean design. Host is kind & responds fast. They are very accommodating. They have some games for the family & good WiFi. Water pressure is great as well, and bathroom and kitchen is stocked nicely.

    My family and I stayed in this four bedroom unit (beware that there are actually only 3 bedrooms because the 4th is actually a day bed in a common area) for a few days. Here are the pros: very clean, spacious, king size beds, attractive white bedspreads, updated kitchen and baths, nice towels, centrally location on beautiful park. Cons: beware that this listing is actually part of a two unit house - so there is a rental unit above this unit and we could hear every single sound of footsteps, chairs being pulled out, etc. Also the two lower level rooms (part of this unit) could hear every sound as well. Evidently there’s no insulation and because the furnishings are so sparse, and there are no rugs or draperies to absorb the noise it is very hard to sleep or relax. One of the main level bedrooms did not have blackout shades and there are lights on outside all night We also found that the furniture in the family room was arranged differently than the listing photos (which also showed an area rug that was no longer there). Overall not a bad space but we would not stay again.

    This was a great location for our family (2 adults and 3 kids under 12). We loved having the park right outside our door. We enjoyed scootering to ice cream down the road and taking walks to get coffee. The house was really well stocked for all we needed and fit our family really comfortably.

    We were all very impressed with our stay. Lots of space. Comfy couches and beds. Lots of amenities available. We were especially happy that there was coffee one day as we had forgotten ours! Overall, an excellent weekend away.
