Stayed Jan 15, 2026The house had everything we needed and was great for our long weekend! Host was super responsive and easy to communicate with. We were so sad to leave the beautiful views. The hike up to Eagle Rock was very scenic and offered incredible panoramic views.

Stayed Nov 28, 2024This place was pretty great although a little hard to get to especially in the dark of night. Quiet, clean (small problem with ants in the kitchen though). Also one of the bedrooms is not heated. Was a bit pricey for what you get.

Stayed Jul 11, 2023it's a little adventurous getting up to the house and getting parked. The house is nice with simple but cute interiors. back deck overlooks an amazing canyon view. Very quiet and peaceful. Beds slide easily on the floor, that was odd. but overall happy with it.

Stayed Jun 11, 2023Stunning views and newly renovated home, but it comes with a price. The canyon road that leads up to the house, as others have mentioned in their reviews, is no joke. It’s steep and unmaintained; our Durango nearly bottomed out while attempting to turn around in the narrow parking area on the edge of a steep drop off. Plus, this unit is on the second floor, and you have to drag your luggage both down from the steep parking spot and up a long, steep outdoor flight of wooden steps. Once inside, the place is beautifully decorated with an updated kitchen, which felt very welcoming. It was chilly during our June visit, and we soon realized that only 2 of the bedrooms have climate control (no heat or a/c in the main living area, kitchen or third bedroom) and there were no extra warm blankets or pillows, so we couldn’t enjoy most of the space. Also note that the updated bathtub in the photo is a shallow shower tub, not a soaker tub. Though the deck was beautiful and the views were great, despite the renovation, the place still had an old house smell that triggered allergies so we left early. This would be a great place for a retreat — since coming and going from the house is extremely stressful — as long as you don’t mind the air and climate control issues. Also, we didn’t see any restaurants anywhere nearby, but enjoyed eating at The Inn of the 7th Ray — about a 15 minute drive in the bottom of the canyon.

Stayed Jun 15, 2023The time it took to get to the property was more than was stated when looking at landmarks on vrbo. It takes a while to get through the canyon and to the property. Penny road is very scary to drive on and there are not enough parking spots on the property. With that being said, the view is beautiful and the property view was as advertised in the listing.

Stayed Jan 2, 2023The house has great views and was overall very clean. However, pay close attention to the comments that have been recently added (after we booked our stay) regarding the street. The drive up the street is no fun and the walk from your parking spot (the street where you will have to navigate horse manure as you exit your vehicle) to the stairs to get up to the second floor is dangerous. This house is relatively decent, but the neighborhood has some very sketchy people/properties and there is minimal chance you are walking to a few local restaurants around the corner as stated. The kitchen did not have some basic cooking essentials (a pan to cook biscuits) and the property manager became confrontational when asked to address that small issue (she did order a pan that was delivered during our stay). Overall the property is decent, with great views, but beware of what you are getting into when it comes to parking, turning around to leave the property, and walking in and out to your vehicle.
