Top of Tiger Hill

I had rented this property for a sister's weekend getaway and the house was conducive for our getaway. It was close to many amenities. The kitchen was stocked nicely. However, the comfort and cleanliness was lacking. The deck which was very large had some rotten spots in the wood and needs repaired. The beds and the living room furniture were very uncomfortable. Bathroom commodes were sub-par. You had to hold the handles down to complete flushing. The house is very drafty and windows aren't great either. The back patio door had a gaps in the door which let the cold January air in. The dishwasher needs to be replaced it smells like mold. The ceiling fans need to be dusted along with the cobwebs in other places. It is in a beautiful setting but definitely needs some maintenance . I would stay again only if I knew the issues were corrected.

House and property was in very bad need of cleaning and repairs. Started with pulling in the driveway with multiple limbs down, with one huge limb I had to drag to the side to get close enough to take our belongings inside. We had a rehearsal dinner to go to so we didn’t get to check out the inside til late. When we got back to go to bed we noticed the bugs in the showers upstairs with wasp flying around in the bedrooms. The beds upstairs had hairs in them and one had skid marks on the sheets. My girls and there family’s would not stay and went to a nearby hotel. My wife and I stayed in the one clean bed we could find but was very uncomfortable and didn’t sleep well at all. The deck outside is in very bad shape with multiple rotten boards and spindles, very dangerous. The house has so much potential but needs a lot of attention. We were very disappointed and I would not recommend any one staying here.

Our stay was good but as in previous reviews, the stink bugs were definitely alive and well and in every room. They mainly attached to the curtains but they were alive and on most windows. The home is secluded and in a wooded area so I understand there would be bugs if the house sits empty for periods and isn’t treated regularly. The home had great space, 3 bathrooms was awesome. We could never get the wifi to work but we weren’t there much and a few times we used our hotspot to login and watch something. The area is very quiet. The road leading to the property is very steep and turning into the driveway can be a little tricky. My biggest complaint besides the stink bugs would be the living room furniture. The couch and love seat were very used and dirty and I did not feel comfortable sitting on them just due to their appearance. Definitely need to be replaced. Overall, space was great, unique design, private, quiet, but could use someTLC.

House location was great. The property is beautiful and large. The host is so quick to respond and LOVELY! A draw back was the cleanliness of the house. The bugs, as mentioned in other posts don’t bother me but under the beds it was gross and the pull out couch had fries and chips and a paper plate under it. Also, 3 of the 4 mattresses were uncomfortable… hard and worn in. We rented the house for sleeping only so on that front I would rate 1/5.

It was a nice, clean and comfortable home. Really suited our needs for a family wedding in the area. We couldn’t find an iron. The driveway gravel has some deep ruts which should be regraded.

This is about property called Top of Tiger Hill, outside of Murfreesboro TN, which we reserved for 3 night in October 2025. Do not book this property unless you inspect it first. One of the bedrooms was completely infested with stink bugs and they were present throughout the rest of the house. (There was also a bonus active wasp nest in the skylight of the stinkbug bedroom.) The washing machine did not work and one of the bathtubs leaked profusely into the downstairs game room. Plus, the entire place appeared to have not had a thorough cleaning in quite a while, with cobwebs, dust, dirty refrigerators, and dead bugs everywhere. We have photos of everything, and we didn’t have to look very hard to find the problems. The owner was responsive to a point, but when we were forced to leave after less than 24 hours of a 3-night booking, primarily because of the bugs, we were only issued a refund for less than the equivalent of 1 night. The owner even suggested that it was somehow unusual for us to have used all the bedrooms, the bathtubs, and attempted to wash clothes in the one night we were there. We will be contacting VRBO for further discussion about the problems , the response, and the refund. This was very disappointing to us, as the house is otherwise very roomy and in good shape, and well-located for exploring the area. If the problems could be addressed, it would be worth a second look, but I can’t give a good review based on our experience.

Great place to stay! The only issue we had was the end of the driveway needs more gravel! It was washed out and We almost got stuck pulling into the drive.

Property was nice. It could use the driveway leveled.

Clean and as described. Easy check in and out. Fast response to any questions.

Host was very prompt about any issues we had. Was a great stay, peaceful and quiet but close to town still. Would stay there again for sure!

Came for a music festival and this place was a great home base!

Amazing stay! The house was pretty big and loved the kitchen space! I wish it was a little bit more clean but otherwise it was pretty nice.

The place was so clean and beautiful. The only issue we had was the start of the driveway it was hard to get my wheels over the dip in the initial pull up . I was afraid each time we tried to pull up we would get stuck

The pictures made us excited to stay there. Once we entered the property you could smell something musty. It had two obvious water leaks that weren’t taken care of. The basement was expected to smell musty but not upstairs. The water pressure was lacking significantly. I understand that’s not the owners fault but don’t expect much in pressure. The couch in the living room made out into a hide a bed. It was so uncomfortable to sit on we didn’t even try to sleep on it. There was only one comfortable bed in the entire place and it was so old it sank into the middle when you laid on it. I hate giving such a bad review but I couldn’t in good conscience leave a good one especially after we paid so much for it.

Very nice place to stay convenient location. Would stay here again and recommend to family and friends!

We rented this house for a 50th Birthday Bash for our friends and family from Florida and Wisconsin. The check in was great we even got to check in a little early communication with the host was very quick she responded back within a few minutes. It was a nice property chairs and fire pit outside was nice. Someone did come clean it up a little while we were gone little weird but ok. The only down fall was water pressure was a little low and it could of be a little cleaner and basement was really cold but other then that we have no complaints thank you for your hospitality

The day of our check in, the area had 6-8 of snow after a small amount of freezing drizzle. The host reached out to me and said Do you have 4 wheel drive? The snow is falling and the house is on a hill. The sooner you can get there, the better. The city salts the hill because the water tower is on top, but it looks like we are going to have quite a bit of snow today after all.We tried to access the property anyway. But the snow and ice had already fallen by check-in time. We called the city to ask about road treatment, they said they would not be treating that hill until late in the day the next day. Nonetheless, we tried to get up the hill multiple times anyway. We both have identical, Crysler Pacifica vans with front wheel drive. We both attempted to get up the hill and could not. The 10' wide hill was snow covered and very slick, with 4-foot ditches on both sides. There were literally sledders going up and down the hill when we returned later to take video to submit to VRBO.Despite our pictures, videos, and communication to the host, she refused to refund the stay. VRBO, so far, has refused to follow its Book with Confidence guarantee. I am escalating and refuse to let this go. What more should one need than video showing us not being able to access the property? At a minimum, the listing should be updated to say 4-wheel drive necessary in slick conditions.
