This is our 2nd time staying at the property. Very nice that they have something like this in the area. Property manager is kind and communicative. The unit is cute, simple and clean. Shower was nice and hot. Check out was easy. I recommend bringing slippers if you stay here in the colder as months as the concrete floor can be quite cold. There is a new coffee shop at the end of the street. Hope it stays in business!
Loved it for our anniversary!! We would go back. you must get meat and ice cream, as well as shop at the mercantile. It's great!! Avoid floating fish joints though...NOT good!!
The description of the property was 100% accurate. We found the home to be very clean upon our arrival and it is a very cozy and comfortable little place to stay. My only regret is that we didn't have a couple more days to stay and enjoy it. But, that's okay because im sure we will return.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Riverside Lodge. Loved being so close to the river and being able to see it from the front stoop. The Ohio is just a gorgeous river. It was very convenient to be able to pop next door to the Mercantile for a latte--they're open at 7am on weekdays. Comfortable and very stylish, and it's great that this former storefront (apparently a laundromat most recently) has been repurposed in this way. The hosts are well organized and attentive--they sent the address and access code immediately on booking, and provided a well researched guide to things to see and do in the area. I would stay here again, no question.
Loved the little house! It was in a great location close to a lot of hiking. It had everything I needed. It was close to the river which was great for sunrises and sunsets. My little Lucy felt at home too. The fence in the back doesn't go all the way to the ground so if you have a smaller dog you need to be watchful. However, I would stay here all over again. Host was great and time I reached out, I heard back very timely. Thank so much for the great stay! Linda
This a great place to stay and I already want to go back. Quiet and private with beautiful view of and easy walk to the Ohio River. There is a nice coffee shop next door. Good experience with host. All rentals should be like this one!
Such a cute place, very clean.
This is a well done refurbished business turned into a great one bedroom home with a fenced in back yard. Look out the window and see the Ohio River. Close to many Shawnee Forest sites.
Property was great! Great location! Great views! Very nice visit to Southern Illinois!
This property exceeded our expectations and is centrally located to all the very best things Southern IL has to offer. Etown itself is a wonderfully welcoming small town. We would love to come back again and stay a little longer. 2 days is not nearly long enough to experience everything. The only thing I could think to recommend is to keep the shades drawn if you would like privacy ...being in the middle of town and not far from the Ohio and so beautifully finished many passerbys were tempted to come up and peer in the windows and although they couldnt see in was a bit unsettling during dinner HaHa.
My stay was exactly what I needed. I went through a divorce. Im a single mom and i just needed an affordable getaway for peace and solitude. The town was absolutely peacful. Icecream shop next door to the BNB was so cute and i got dinner there one night to take back to the BNB to cook for myself. I will absolutely go back!
Great communication with host, super accommodating, clean and new. Would 100% recommend to anyone.
We really loved our stay here. The river was right by us and we could take a nice little walk to it. Loved the original pictures of the building and it was all we needed!
Property was just as it was described. We had a very relaxing couple of days. I am going through some health problems and my husband is getting ready to have cataract surgery so we needed some down time. Loved having the ice cream shop next door. That was supper the first night.
Nice and clean comfortable bed the little town is nice and little 93 year lady next door was just as sweet as she could be we will be coming bac next year hope we get to stay here again and has good icecream right next door
Our stay in E'Town at Riverside Lodge was a wonderful experience. There is ice cream next down and fried catfish down the street along the magnificent Ohio River. In a great location as well near Cave-In-Rock and Garden of the Gods. 2 areas of opportunity: Have a gas grill outside (there was a charcoal grill), and a vent in the kitchen area, Or maybe a screen door. King Size Bed and seating were comfy. The whole interior was very clean. We even saw the Strawberry Moon from the river that weekend. Looking forward to staying there again.
An historic building revisioned as a VRBO was a great location to explore Shawnee NF. We loved the rustic decor and location to the Ohio River. The owner advised us to bring groceries and you absolutely need to. Many local restaurants are 1/2 hour away and the closest grocery is about 45 minutes away. The Riverside Lodge is a great and unique location.
If you want a small town experience, this cute little lodge is for you. It was cozy and comfortable and everything we needed was within a 15 minute drive.
Perfect stay for a couples get-a-way!
My family stayed here for 2 nights while exploring the Shawnee National Forest. The place is very clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our time here.
Loved the cleanliness, quality of finishes, and quietness of this place.
I booked this place as a surprise trip for my brother-in-law and sister. They loved it!
