Elizabethtown, Illinois
Twin Oaks log cabin is an authentic antique log cabin, circa 1852. It was disassembled across the river at Fords Ferry in Crittenden county Kentucky and brought across the Ohio River ferry to Timber Ridge in 2013. The home is now nestled under a pair of twin Oaks that date back over 200 years. Behind the cabin, guests are able to relax in their private Tree Deck! Don't miss this great piece of history that dates back to President Lincolns time in Illinois. FIRE PLACE IS NON-OPERATIONAL.
The kitchen is equipped with an apartment size refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, toaster, coffee pot and all the dishes you'll need. We supply complimentary coffee, coffee filters, cream, sugar packets, salt, pepper, hand soap, dish soap, toilet paper, paper towels, firewood and camp chairs and of course, FREE WiFi.
*The fire place in Twin Oaks is NOT a working fire place, it is for looks only.*

*** Pets and Kids:***
We are a Pet and Kid Friendly resort. We allow up to two pets per unit for no additional charge, however, we do require a credit card to be on file in the event there is any damage to the unit or its furnishings. To remain a pet friendly resort, pets that are aggressive towards other dogs, cats or people, will NOT be allowed. Pet owners assume ALL liability for their pets. We do have cats on our property so if your dog is aggressive or likes to chase cats, please leash them at all times or do not bring them. We love our pets too. Aggressive animals will be asked to leave immediately.
All pets are required to be current on shots and must be protected with Flea and Tick medicine BEFORE you arrive. If you forget, we do have some for sale in the Outpost. All pets must be crated if left unattended in the units. No exceptions please! For your convenience, we do rent crates of all sizes for $8 per visit (not per night) but it is BYOB (Bring Your Own Blanket). Please call us in advance if you will need a crate in your unit. Please note, we will automatically charge your credit card for any damages done to the units, furnishings, linens or towels. Although we have never had to charge someone for damages, you will be required to sign a paper stating that you agree to these charges in advance. In the event this is ever necessary, we will provide photographs of the damages. PLEASE help us remain a pet friendly resort and just let us know if your pet had a bad day and accidentally chewed the towel or corner of the rug. We ask only that you reimburse us for the cost of the damaged item.
Even if your pet typically doesn't jump on the furniture, PLEASE bring thick blankets to cover the furniture with anyway! This goes a long way to helping the cleaning people get all the dog hair up before the next guests arrive. Thanks!

Had a wonderful time staying. We went for our 5 year wedding and was the perfect place to enjoy each other. Spent the day at Garden of the Gods and realized we live 2 hours from one of the most beautiful places on earth. Thank you for allowing us to stay. The cabin was very cozy and felt right at home.
The perfect getaway. Beautiful cabin. Sitting on the porch watching the deer was the best
Great weekend hiking with the dog.
The cabin was charming and well run. The TV worked well as did the AC. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cooking needs. Loved the location.
We enjoyed our stay however we feel it’s a little pricy for the accommodations. Futon couch needs updating and a dresser should be included for those that choose not to live out of their suitcases. We also we’re not able to enjoy sitting outdoors as the patio decks and front porch are bug infested and in need power washing. The camp chairs we’re old and also bug infested and should be cleaned or replaced. Outside that it’s located right in the middle of Shawnee Forest and easy accessible to all attractions.
Cosy cabin in a great area to enjoy scenic views and friendly people.
very clean
Description could have been a little cleared on accessing the loft area. Not ideal for older people and/or pets. Over all, a nice, quiet place.
It was clean, quaint and quiet. Family centered. Lots to do and explore in the area. Be prepared to drive. But the driving is beautiful in itself. Exactly as advertised. Would stay again!
The cabin was cute and quaint. Exactly what my husband and I was hoping for our anniversary weekend. We had the perfect balance of adventure/hiking in the area and relaxing at the cabin. Elizabeth was incredible to work with and always quick to respond to my messages.
My best friend and I stayed at this property for a weekend get away. The cabin had so much character. We enjoyed sitting on the porch and relaxing.
This cabin was perfect - it's in wonderful condition, the property is quiet and in a lovely location, there was plenty of space for our family of 3 and medium sized dog, the fact that it's dog-friendly, the water pressure and temperature in the bathroom was ideal, the beds were comfortable, and check-in/check-out was simple. I'd definitely book this property again next time we're in the area.
It was a step back in time. So cool to imagine the history that took place in this small space. Grateful for the modern amenities though.
