Three Porches by Sea Maine

Relaxing old cottage. Had several maintenance issues but owner was prompt in responding. Note no air conditioner installed on upper level.

We really enjoyed our time at Three Porches. The house has a wonderful view of the ocean at the end of a peninsula. We enjoyed walking along the rocks at low tide and enjoyed the sunsets. While the house is along the road the traffic is slow and minimal with more walkers and runners than cars. It was lovely to listen to the waves with the windows cracked at night and watch the lobster boats while we had our morning coffee on the front porch. We loved the charm of an older home. While not everyone may appreciate creaky wood floors and the rustic coastal vibe, we really enjoyed it. The top two bedrooms are accessed by a steep, narrow staircase, which may not be suitable for all, especially if you need to use the bathroom at night which is on the floor below. The size of the room and view of the ocean made up for the inconvenience, in my opinion, but I know neither of my septuagenarian family members felt comfortable navigating the stairs at night and therefore chose other bedrooms. There were six bedrooms in total. All of them were lovely, though five were on the smaller side and one had a squeaky bed. We only had five people in our group and no couples, so there was plenty of room for us and no one had to use the squeaky bed. There is one full bathroom on the second floor with four of the bedrooms and a full bathroom on the first floor. This was fine for our group and is part of the experience with an older home. The rental company was very communicative and available. Thanks!

Our family of 8 stayed at the property. It wss perfect for us. Each couple had a room and each 'kid' had their own room. That was an added plus. The layout of the house was perfect for watching and listening to the ocean as well as dinners together. Plenty of space. Views were amazing from most of the house! Great quiet, friendly area. Would definitely stay again!

It is a great house. I would suggest having twin beds in one or two of the second floor bedrooms would give greater flexibility. The second floor front bedroom, on the left facing the ocean, is pressing on the electrical outlet. But other than those minor issues, bravo!!!

When you think about staying in Maine, your mind automatically goes to the water with a rustic feel and becomes one with your surroundings. Well, we can tell you Three Porches gave you this in spades. It’s a beautiful setting right on the harbor in an older home that has been kept up with all your possible needs. We used the house to stage a family reunion with 10 of us at the home, and at no time did we feel cramped or on top of each other. The serine setting made you feel one with nature, but you were only 15 minutes from Boothbay Harbor, so there was always something to do. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we could have wanted to prepare meals, the only thing missing was the lobster. We are already looking forward to staying there again next year.

This was a quaint, lovely home. Everything was just as described and very clean. The host was helpful and quick to respond. The area is amazing! We didn't want to leave. I hope to come back to Maine soon just to stay here longer!

Very comfortable! Loved the porches

The view is unbeatable. This is an authentic Maine cottage. The floor plan has tons of space. The bedrooms are well outfitted with beautiful bedding and spectacular views from every room. The kitchen is well equipped with anything you might need or want. I also really appreciated having starter supplies in the kitchen and bathrooms- truly thought if everything you might need. The team was very friendly, responsive and accommodating to our special requests. I will definitely rent again and can’t wait to go back.

The view and sunsets were amazing So glad we chose this property.
