Middletown, Rhode Island
Lovely 3 bedroom home near the beach, Newport Equestrian, and The Norman Bird Sanctuary.
Hike the trail to Hanging Rock, and take in the spectacular views of Sachuest Point, or ride horseback along the coastline of white sand beaches.
Visit Sweet Berry Farm (right up the street) for fresh produce and baked goods, or pick your own berries.
Downtown Newport, known as the "City by the Sea", is just a short 10 minute drive. You can even bike into town to explore the bustling wharfs and piers, with some of the best restaurants and shopping on the East Coast!
This is such a cozy, comfortable, well-appointed home that feels immediately relaxing, with the deck overlooking the large back yard, the nice furniture and art, the well-equipped kitchen, and more. We had a wonderful stay and will return when we visit our family in the future!
Wonderful property and meets all our needs for a wonderful intergenerational trip near all the sights of Middletown and Newport! Our third time staying; a three-peat.
The property is absolutely wonderful -not only well furnished but beautifully set up with kitchen, laundry and towels etc. it is very clean. It’s close to Second and Third beaches and stores. Very quiet neighborhood. The weather was awful the entire time but we still enjoyed our vacation ?
A clean and comfortable house in a great location. It was a short drive to many beaches and other site seeing activities. Quiet neighborhood and nice outdoor seating.
We really enjoyed our stay. It was close to everything we needed to be near and we had plenty of room to all be in one place but not fall all over one another. The fittings and fixtures (kitchen gear, bathroom hooks, laundry supplies) were well thought-out. Instructions and suggestions were complete and easy to understand. Overall, a great time!
This is our second year renting this house. Great location, large backyard and close to beaches.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Third Beach Road retreat. The house was clean and comfortable. It was also quiet and secluded. The house was outfitted with everything you would need to cook and enjoy the comforts of home. I would love to stay there again and highly recommend it to anyone interested.
Wonderful property, great choice if youre going to Rhode Island!
Great space in quiet area near beaches, bird sanctuary, berry farm and much more. Newport only 15 minutes away. Anthony’s Seafood is ten minutes away-amazing lobster roll and more! Great day trip was the Beavertail lighthouse! A great week. ?
Very nice clean home All items needed for a beach stay were provided.
Friends for almost 30 years, we gathered from North And South shores and Cornwall, England. Fabulous home, perfectly situated to so many attractions and Newport. Farm stand for pumpkins and pies? Check! Gorgeous beach views of a beautiful full moon? Check! Close proximity to Newport for sight, shopping and dining? Check!! Hope to be back again next year! Highly recommend!!!!!! The owners were also extremely welcoming and patient with our first time VRBO questions and lots of info at the home in a booklet which was a great resource.
First of all, this was the most difficult time I have had to get the check in code. After several e-mails, I had to contact VRBO for assistance around 48 hours prior to check in. I am a frequent traveler via VRBO, and this was the 1st time that I experienced this. The property itself is lovely. There are a couple of steep steps from porch into living room that elderly people may find challenging. The kitchen is well stocked with bar glassware, however the cooking pans were limited. As we were only going for a long weekend, I had planned only to make breakfasts: blueberry pancakes & an omelet. Several of the cooking pans were coated & scratched. I had to go out and purchase a pan to cook. The plates were also marred with metal scratches from prolonged utensil use. If you are a family. or group it would be challenging to cook. I would recommend the owner invest in a set of quality stainless steel pans & pots, as well as a set of dishes for 8. Additionally, there were plenty of towels, and I appreciate that they were white, as well as the sheets. However, there were 3 towels that had stains on them. I looked for bleach, but there wasn't any. I would recommend bleaching the towels/bedding between rentals. That being said, the house itself was comfortable, a short drive to the beach. It was nice to be out of the hustle & bustle of Newport, but close enough to enjoy that which one chooses. We had a great time walking on 2nd beach, biking on Ocean Drive, and strolling on Cliff Walk. Once these issues are addressed, I would recommend this property, and hope to return, as the location was enjoyable, and the rest of the house appeared clean. I especially enjoyed the artwork hanging throughout the house, and felt like I would like to sit and have a drink with the owner.
Very happy with property. Everything was clean and well stocked. Location was great just a short ride to beach and downtown for all the wedding activities. Would be a perfect place to stay for a summer vacation in Newport!
This property was very well stocked, clean and comfy with great spaces to hang out and visit. We stayed here for a wedding but it would also be a good place to stay if you want to enjoy the beaches and have easy access to the restaurants and sites in Newport. Highly recommend visiting Sweet berry Farm and Bird Sanctuary. Both very close by.
My family of 5 just spent a wonderful week at Bonnie’s place. First and foremost, Bonnie is an excellent host and clearly wants her guests to have a memorable vacation. She is lovely and very responsive. Check in and out were easy and straightforward. The house is in a great location, with some shops/restaurants 5 minutes to left, and several beaches 5 minutes to the right. While the street is not busy, the cars do drive by a little fast, as our neighbor explained, “in a hurry to get to the beach.” Beach parking is expensive, especially on the weekends, so on Sat./Sun. we dropped everyone and then ran or biked back, but during the week, we just paid the $20 for the day (you can leave and come back with the same pass). All of the stretches of Third and Second Beach were lovely, with Peabody being the least crowded and Second having the biggest waves. The house was clean and comfortable, with a nice deck and yard for spending time outside. Overall, we had a great time and weren’t ready to leave!
We enjoyed our stay! House was clean and had everything we needed. Conveniently located near second and third beach - we were able to bike to and from the beaches.
Great house, close drive to Newport. Loved the back yard even picked blueberries. I would stay here again!
You're going to wish you could stay longer or never leave, this lovely, tranquil home! The area is quiet and relaxing and just a short walk to the beach. The house is furnished so you and your family can enjoy gathering inside or on the deck to watch the sunset. The home is immaculate and has everything you need for a wonderful stay. We will be back, thank you Bonnie!
We love this house. It’s always clean and everything is in working order. Most importantly, it’s very comfortable and is close to the beaches and Newport. But not so close that the crowds run you over.
Had to travel to town for a funeral and the owner could not be more kind or accommodating
We had a wonderful long weekend at the house with our adult children and family dog. Bonnie, the property mgr was excellent. We loved the house and location, abutting the Bird Sanctuary and under a mile beautiful walk to beaches. The house was well stocked and very comfortable. We spent a lot of time on the deck. Would have been perfect if the house came with beach passes for the Middletown beaches especially 3rd Beach. Would rent again definitely!
