The Secret Mermaid in downtown Mystic! Beautiful & just remodeled!

Mia and Jon's property was great for a Thanksgiving trip to visit family nearby. It was very clean with comfortable beds, fluffy towels and stocked with great hand soaps and mini toiletries. It was an easy walk to Mystic Pizza, Sift bake shop, shopping and the drawbridge. We enjoyed our stay and Mia thoughtfully added decorative touches to the home for our Thanksgiving celebration. We hope to be back soon.

The Secret Mermaid was a hit with my family. They all want to stay again when we visit my sister and her family in Noank. We were able to walk into Mystic easily. Comfortable beds, easy kitchen to work in, beautifully appointed bathrooms with fluffy towels, great dining room for 10 and lovely living room with a great fireplace.

Excellent stay Stairs are pretty steep to bedrooms.

This is the prettiest, cleanest, warmest home we've ever stayed in! From the new appliances to the decorative touches, the Secret Mermaid is charming. My book club friends cozied up to the fireplace on a stormy night. It was a perfect New England stay.

The home was perfect for our family visit during parents weekend with our cadet at the Coast Guard Academy. Great location with easy access to downtown Mystic, clean, and comfortable. We had a wonderful time and hope to stay agin in the future.

We had the absolute best time at Mia and Jon's place! It was so beautiful, comfortable, and perfectly located. It has everything we needed for our baby and toddler. Mia and Jon also left some really thoughtful touches and were great communicators. We'll definitely be back!

We had a great stay at the Secret Mermaid. The space was so well thought out and meticulously set up for everyone in our group. We had a 4yo and 1yo with us and the girls were so excited about the bunk bed room and all the books and stuffed animals in the house. There were games and beach supplies, fully stocked with kitchen supplies for adults and kids. I can't recommend this spot enough!

Beautiful home with all the amenities

We had an excellent stay home was very very clean and convenient to downtown Mystic. Just please know that if you have an elderly person that the bedrooms are all upstairs. House is totally stocked with everything else you’ll ever need and we certainly appreciate that as well.

This is our second year and it was as good as the first. Jon and Mia are great hosts, always responsive and want to make the best of your stay. This property has all you need and is so close to great restaurants, downtown shops and the Seaport Museum. Will stay again!

Secret Mermaid was the perfect gathering place for our family to celebrate a graduation. The house was spotless and had everything we needed and more, from plenty of clean towels to a generous gift card to Sift, the incredible bakery located short walk away. Beds were very comfortable, bathrooms beautifully updated, and kitchen was well stocked. There’s both a Keurig and a drip coffee maker. It was easy to walk into town, plus a short walk in the other direction gets you to Mystic Market, a lovely little gourmet market. Would definitely book again!

I highly recommend to stay in the secret mermaid, great location, walking distance to Mystic restaurants, shops and museums. The house was perfect. And the hosts are just amazing. We had a wonderful family time!

My college girlfriends planned a weekend to reunite after a decade or two of not seeing each other. The house comfortably slept 7. Highlights: gas fireplace, fluffy towels, comfortable beds, covered porches and easy walk (just steps) to downtown Mystic. We had terrible weather but enjoyed catching up in our cozy Secret Mermaid escape!

We loved everything about this property. The house was perfection and the perfect distance to downtown Mystic. We will absolutely be returning.

The house was perfect we had a family reunion for a celebration of life.The weather was chilly. We went to Mystic walked around the shops and went to the aquarium.

Perfect location right off the main strip and 12 min drive to Stonington - charming porches to enjoy the spring/summer weather and though it rained all day Saturday, the beautiful fireplace and inviting family room made for a perfect movie day. The kitchen is well appointed and bathroom showers are spa-like! Slept like babies in the dreamy beds - perfect getaway spot with the most responsive owners. Spring flowers coming up just added to the beauty of this gem

This place was perfect for our girls college reunion trip! The house was beautiful with no detail missed, the fore place was great for At night to watch movies in the living room. The porches were great for morning coffees. The location to all things downtown in Mystic was just wonderful. We look for was Ed to coming back again!

Took a short 3-night getaway to celebrate a milestone birthday. Wow! This property is pristine and may very well be the most well-appointed residence we’ve ever experienced (and we use VRBO often). The gas fireplace was a big hit while watching movies in the evenings (cool nights in March). Our hosts were very welcoming! Can’t recommend this property ENOUGH!

The Secret Mermaid was the ideal spot for our girls’ getaway! Three of us met in Mystic, the perfect halfway point for Massachusetts and New York. From the moment we pulled into the driveway, we knew we had found the right place.Mia and John were incredibly responsive, making check-in and check-out effortless. The Amtrak station was just minutes away, which made picking up a friend seamless. Plus, the driveway easily accommodated our two SUVs.Inside and out, the house is simply adorable—impeccably clean, beautifully decorated, and instantly welcoming. After stopping for lunch at the famous Mystic Pizza, we settled into the cozy living room, enjoying snacks, drinks, and the warmth of the fireplace in our pajamas. The fully stocked kitchen made it easy to prepare everything we needed, and the bedrooms were spotless, comfortable, and wonderfully quiet. We all had a restful night’s sleep.The next afternoon, we explored Olde Mistick Village and indulged in a late lunch at A&P Oyster Club. The clam chowder, raw bar sampler, and focaccia bread were fantastic, especially with the scenic drawbridge view. A thoughtful gift card from our hosts led us to the amazing Sift Bakery, and we ended the evening once again by the fire, savoring the warmth and charm of this lovely home.We highly recommend The Secret Mermaid and would absolutely stay again—perhaps in warmer weather to explore the seaport! Thank you for providing the perfect home for a truly unforgettable weekend!

We had a wonderful weekend stay at Mia and Jon’s beautiful home. It is better than the pics. Spotlessly clean. The location is just a couple minutes walk to main area in mystic with shops/restaurants. The hosts left us a lovely gift card to use at a local bakery. Such a nice touch! The beds are so comfortable. The fireplace was perfect on our rainy day. The area is beautiful wish we had more time to walk around and explore. I would love to return in summer months!!! We can’t say enough about how thoughtful and accommodating Mia and Jon were. We had a lot of questions as it was our first time traveling out of state with our toddler. Mia took the time not only to give us recommendations on local things to do as a family - but also to make sure the house had what it needed for us. It was spotlessly clean, and completely comfortable! They are great hosts; who know how to balance being available and communicative, while also giving privacy to their guests. Stay with them for a wonderful time in Mystic. :)

My family of four and I stayed at the Secret Mermaid over a long fall weekend while visiting my son for Parents Weekend at one of the nearby colleges, and we couldn't be happier with the experience. The home is exactly as advertised. It was immaculately clean and beautifully decorated—my wife even asked me to find out the color of paint they used in the kitchen. The property was tastefully appointed with all the amenities you would want for a relaxing stay. All the appliances appeared to be brand new and were spotless. The owners even left us a nice welcome note along with a gift card to a local bakery just a short walk down the street (be sure to try the sticky cinnamon buns if they haven't sold out). Speaking of walking, the location was ideal—just a 5-10 minute stroll into town and all the restaurants and shops. My family and I have stayed at VRBO properties from Hawaii to Mexico, Aruba, Antigua, and all over the U.S., and this was the cleanest and most beautifully decorated property we've had the pleasure of staying in. The hosts were very helpful and accessible, answering our few questions within minutes. We absolutely loved our visit and look forward to coming back soon.

We rented this house for a long weekend to escape the city life, and visit some family. This house was incredible. You can tell the owners take pride in their property. Plenty of amenities to meet everyones needs. The location is amazing. Just off the main strip of Mystic. You get peace and quiet with the ability to be at your first Mystic destination after a 3 minute walk. We were so pleased, we plan to stay here again!

We spent a long weekend at this lovely house! It was prefect for walking in to town for shopping and eating. We did the Mystic Aquarium one day. House is close to Rhode Island so we took a day trip there for a beach day in Westerly. Plus we took ferry to Block Island another day. Great location and overall great feel to the house. It was very homey, beautifully decorated and everything is top notch. Would definitely stay there again!

Close to all of the action in Mystic, which is nice because it’s difficult to park downtown. As a VRBO operator myself this property is what I would hope my guests experience when they visit my place. 5 star

My family of 5 loved our stay in this lovely home in Mystic! The house was so fresh and clean, beds were very comfortable and location was perfect. We loved being able to walk to shop and eat multiple times a day. We enjoyed reading and relaxing on the front porch rocking chairs. Jon and Mia checked in on us a few times to make sure everything was perfect. If we visit Mystic again we would definitely stay in this house!
