The Sasquatch Retreat: Cozy 4BR Near Adventures!

Very clean, nice house. We needed a place to stay for the night, and it worked out great.

The Sasquatch Retreat was a quirky, cozy stay. It was very conveniently located for the sites we wanted to see around the New River Gorge National Park. It had 3 downstairs bedrooms with additional beds upstairs that we didn't use. The house does only have one bathroom. The entire house, inside and out, is decorated with a Sasquatch theme, which my kids enjoyed. The hosts also provided a fun scavenger hunt around house looking for mini-figurines of Sasquatch. The house is older than we anticipated and a bit aged. Overall the stay was fine.

Wonderful hosts! The mattess was really firm, but they purchased a topper for us prior to arrival!

Cute house, loved the theme. Would have liked a more stocked kitchen as far as dishware, pots/pans, toaster, etc. The kitchen was very minimal if you plan to cook. Also be very careful with the steep and slippery steps to the 2nd floor. I’d give it 5 stars if it had more of an outdoor space. The back porch was very rundown and fire pit was not usable. But, overall, the house was great and we were happy with our stay!

This was a great property for our family (with small kids and a dog) for a long weekend to New River Gorge NP. The house was well equipped for us all. The kitchen had all the basics needed, a small charcoal grill on the deck, a firepit with firewood, a restaurant style highchair for our 1yr old, basketball game and foosball table for the 5yr old, basic supplies like dishsoap, laundry soap, papertowels, tp and whatnot. We really only had to purchase food. This was an excellent value for the and close to all the parts of the park we wanted to see. The only thing I'd suggest to others is that if you have a dog that bolts, the gate to the yard was broken so the fence doesn't really contain them. Was a nonissue for us as our dog sticks close to us. We will definitely stay here again!
