**About our pricing model**
Because every property on VRBO (and other short term rental websites) are owned by a different owner, they will all have their own house rules and pay structures. We use a variable pricing model to give our guests more flexibility - dependent on the size of your group. Comparable property's to this will mostly be priced at a flat rate for 6 guests. But because our property has (surprisingly) received a lot of bookings in the past from solo couples (2 guests), we wanted to best accommodate this by starting at a decreased base price, and then allowing the price to be adjusted accordingly, dependent on the group size. So if you have 4-6 guests in your reservation, the pricing then increases to make it comparable to the other 6 guest property's in the area. We do conduct regular analysis' and comparisons, and we feel we have priced this property fairly and comparable to other similar spaces in the area - the only difference is it can vary dependent on your group size. Please reach out if you have any questions in regards to this.

>>>LOYALTY PROGRAM: Stay with us twice (at the same property), and you’ll receive 5% OFF of your stays FOR LIFE at that property. If you make it to 10 stays, then we will give you one free night to stay with us at any of our properties.
(Note: this only pertains to nightly rate costs, does not include any fees or taxes).

Tower Grove Park
This wooded Victorian strolling park rewards meandering. Its 340 kinds of trees could chart every shade of green, and they attract 200 kinds of birds, from red-shafted flickers and monk parakeets to ospreys and ring-billed gulls. Henry Shaw developed the park to give St. Louis “a grand pleasure ground,” with wide lanes for horse-drawn carriages, gates guarded by zinc griffins, and exotic pavilions and gazebos. Every few feet, there’s something to see: lions copied from the tomb of Pope Clement XIII, heroic sculptures (Shakespeare’s here), busts (including Mozart), and antiquities (columns from the Old Courthouse and stone “ruins” from the old Lindell Hotel, reflected in one of the most picturesque ponds in St. Louis). Park officials also recently uncovered a long-forgotten stream on the park's east side, accenting it with rain gardens and native plants on either side.

Tower Grove Park - key events
- Tower Grove Pride Fest
- Festival of Nations
- Food Truck Friday’s
- Tuesday & Saturday Farmer’s Market

This lovely Victorian home is beautifully restored and comfortable. The railings on the exterior stairs need to be repaired. They are so loose they could cause someone to fall.

I actually had to cancel my reservation because my wife broke her ankle. So my review is for the communication and policies. I totally get the need to keep part of the cost since they lost money on not being able to book another group. They added a lot of extraneous fees- per person charge, cleaning charge- that they weren’t actually out of pocket. I am always wary of staying anywhere with lots of rules, extra fees or lengthy questioning about rationale for the stay and listing guests and such- all part of the process to book here. I ignored my reservations this time because the location was perfect but I wouldn’t do it again. Communication was ok. Policies were over the top. And extra fees seemed petty. The place may be great but I am not sure it would be worth staying there.

We enjoyed the neighborhood and the house had plenty of room for the 5 of us. The location was a huge draw. People interested in staying at this house should know the stairs to the second floor are steep and may not be suitable for older people. People should also know the photo of the back porch with the lovely shades is outdated. We did not spend any time on that porch due to the lack of effective shades. People should also know we were unable to fully close the door between the front and middle bedrooms.

Great property, exactly as described. Host was easy to communicate with and ensured we had access instructions and check out instructions prior to arrival. The parking was a little tight out front because we arrived so late but we were able to park close.

Rustic City Inn was in a great location for everything we had planned. We stayed for a long weekend and found that it was within walking distance of a few corner cafes and the Farmers Market. Everything was as advertised. We would stay here again.

Thanks Tony! We had a great stay at Rustic City Inn. Gorgeous, spacious, updated historic home. It was clean. The beds were comfy. It was only a 5-15 minute drive to almost any neighborhood. We loved the covered outdoor deck to visit with friends living in St. Louis. Plenty of street parking. Many great restaurants nearby.

Although the house worked for us in a pinch, there are reasons we would not choose it again: 1) EXTRA FEES ARE CHARGED IF YOU USE ALL THREE BEDROOMS. This was in the small print and we missed it. As a result, the advertised charge is only for two people staying in a 3-bedroom house! This is ridiculous, and just a way to charge higher fees. Yes, we should have cancelled, but a previous place fell through and this was a last-minute reservation, and we missed the fine print. 2) FRONT BEDROOM GUESTS MUST WALK THROUGH THE SECOND BEDROOM TO GET TO THE BATHROOM. This was never clarified in the write-up.3) 3 of 4 times, we could not get HOT WATER in upstairs shower.4) Significant DEFERRED MAINTENANCE, & ended up texting the owner daily. These were the problems:-broken toilet (what should have been a chain in the tank had been fixed with twine, which broke) - not repaired during our visit - dead batteries in front door electronic lock – owner told us where to find extra batteries, but they weren’t there (temporarily fixed by cleaning batteries)- front porch light didn’t work & not fixed during visit- serious need of paint5) VERY STEEP STAIRWAYS w/ covers that were not glued down- beware if anyone with disabilities or arthritis in your group6) Poor lighting7) Poor air conditioning upstairs. Hot during our visit but not unusual summer weather. We are not the first to note problems, but they have not been fixed. Although good location, we will not be returning.

We had a wonderful stay at Rustic City Inn! The home is located in a great, quiet neighborhood, which made it perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. Our family of six found the space comfortable and accommodating. One of the best features was its central location—it made getting to local attractions, restaurants, and other points of interest very convenient. We truly enjoyed our experience and would definitely consider staying here again!
