The Rookery is a 4-bedroom, mid-century family home. John Turner built it for his growing family in 1949. His business was oil. There is still a Turner Oil Station on Highway 12. Many of the local residents still remember playing in the house as children. It was built with all the modern conveniences of the time, and has a spacious yet cozy feel.

Stayed Jun 28, 2025This was our second stay at the Rookery. It is perfect for our family of seven. Excellent location for visiting Devils Lake, Parfreys Glen, Pewetts Nest, and the Dells. The owner is very responsive. The only reason I would hesitate to give it a great review is I want it to be available next time we visit the area.
