'The Old Dairy loft' is a recently completed loft apartment designed by award winning architects MCK. Originally the site of a dairy farm in the 1850's the new design incorporates an original brick wall, forming a backdrop to the new layout.

It features beautiful mahogany ceilings and cabinetry and is fully carpeted throughout. There is an open plan kitchen/dining/living area with views over an adjacent park. The bedroom has built in wardrobes, a king sized bed which can be reconfigured into 2 singles if required and an ensuite bathroom. There are laundry facilities and a fully functioning kitchen, complete with oven, gas cooktop, fridge and dishwasher. There is a split system heating/cooling system to keep the interiour at a comfortable temperature. You also have TV, DVD, a Bose iphone dock sound system and free wifi.

Free parking is available on the street but it is limited to 2 hours from 10am-6pm. We do have some guest permits available for those who need a car while they are staying. Please let us know if you require a guest pass as there will be an extra charge for these passes.

The loft is adjacent to Moore Park and only minutes to the famous eateries of Surry Hills and Redfern. Fox Studios, Centennial Park and the SCG are a short stroll across Moore Park. The property is 2 kilometers from Sydney city centre and only a 10 minute drive from the airport.

You will find the loft a quiet place to rest but close enough to all the entertainment Sydney has to offer. There are numerous bike paths in the area which lead you from your door to Woolloomooloo, the Opera House and other Sydney attractions. Central Station is a 15 walk away through the leafy streets of Surry Hills and the beaches are a short bus ride away.

    Let's start with what knocks this from a 5 to a 4. My wife is a neat freak. She first noticed the crums under the toaster and food scraps in the utensil drawer, couch wasn't cleaned with whatever slips inbetween the cushions and dead bugs behind furniture that can be easily moved and vacuumed. The kitchen needed more furniture. The towels left for us looked like they were washed and left to dry in the machine. The cotton towels had the consistency of sandpaper. After rewashing, the towels were better plush and ready for use. There were a shortage of utensils provided and we needed to hand wash those if the dishwasher wasn't full. This is not a car friendly neighborhood if you intend to have one during your stay, however parking passes were available if you wanted to find a spot to park in the neighborhood. My advice would be to find a parking spot in the neighborhood and leave it there for the entirety of your stay. Sydney is an easy city to get around using public transportation which we did for 2 weeks. Busses, light rail and trains will take you to wherever you want to visit without any long waits. The transit passes were left in the unit and we used them and were able to use refill the fares on them online. This unit is a very comfortable unit (not withstanding the initial impressions I mantion above). This unit is located in a great neighborhood where great coffee shops, restaurants and other essentials are nearby. This unit is a solid 4star and can easily be a 5.

    The loft is a beautifully renovated loft with everything you need. Perfect for a city break! Beautiful area with lots of green spaces and trees. Close to restaurants, cafes, Moore Park and the light rail. Easy access to the city. Some noise at night but it is the festive season!

    The place had everything we needed and was a short walk to food etc. Parking whilst not in abundance we always found one close enough. Definitely recommend!

    I loved staying at Sarah's place in Surry Hills. Great location near lots of restaurants in a fun lively neighborhood, but away from busy streets so pretty quiet. Nice little park across the street. Well designed, clean lines, very comfortable apartment. I loved Sydney and would definitely stay here again if I can come back.

    The laneway house was comfortable clean and in an amazing neighborhood. We thouroughly enjoyed our 9 nights there and would stay again.
