Saint Ives, England
The Old Bookshop was a former bookshop located on Bedford Road, St Ives. This 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom house oozes character and is located 2 minutes away from St Ives town centre, making it the perfect location for a couples getaway to St Ives.
With shelves full of books, a real log fire and antique tiffany lamps dotted around the property, it really does feel like a home away from home. The outside patio area is fully equipped with a gas barbecue which is free for guests to use.
Loved our stay! Conveniently located, quiet at night! We had problem with shower head and fixed within an hour! Lovely greeting with wine and scones! Top notch all around! Loved all the books too. Only wish: a top sheet and some blankets. Would highly recommend this rental
I loved the bookshop! It is such a warm, homey place filled with books. The location is amazing, right in the middle of town. I could not have loved it more. Jemma was an amazing host. She answered all my questions promptly. Such a wonderful stay!
Everything was very satisfying it felt like at home away from home.
Very relaxing and chilled with every possible piece of kitchen equipment at hand. Comfy bed with lovely soft towels. What a welcome pack, we didn’t need to stock up on anything, all the essentials provided. Very thoughtful of the host.
I absolutely loved everything about this very central St Ives cottage. It’s only a one minute walk to bars, restaurants, beaches. We stayed for a week and really felt at home. Everything works in this cottage. The lounge is homely, comfy armchairs and has an eating/dining area inside and also in the delightful garden. The kitchen is extremely well equipped and the owners left us some fresh milk, orange juice, biscuits and a Cornish cream tea, a bowl of fruit and a bottle of wine, which was extremely welcome. Extra touches were tea, coffee, sugar, cleaning materials, washing up liquid, hand soaps. The owners literally thought of everything you need home from home. The lounge and bedroom have good tvs. The bed was also very comfortable and the bathroom had everything you could need. The cottage was spotless throughout and it was an absolute joy staying there. It’s clear this cottage is very loved. I would definitely stay here again, don’t hesitate to book it.
Stayed here for 5 nights. Excellent location, stocked with essentials plus wine, great layout very clean and inviting. Reasonably quiet with 5 min walk to Harbour and all shops and amenities. Would definitely recommend.
The old bookshop was a delight to stay in. The pictures didn’t really do it justice on how cute and cosy it is. The Christmas book tree in the window was so brilliant. We had wine, mince pies, fresh bread, butter and milk waiting for us - lovely touch and very much appreciated. It was spotlessly clean. The location was perfect - just a stones throw from the hustle and bustle. The log fire was great a big basket of logs was provided. We loved our stay x
Perfect location, very clean with everything you need to enjoy a stay in St Ives. We would definitely recommend this property and it would be the first place to book again for a visit. It has every amenity plus some very nice touches, thanks Jemma.
This is a beautiful traditional home in St.Ives which has an unbelievable location right in the centre of town. The walk to the beach is literally 1-2 minutes and you're moments from the main thorough-fair of shops and cafes. My friend and I stayed for three nights and we loved it. The house was super clean on our arrival and there were some lovely treats too. We'd definitely rebook and stay here again. There's a small courtyard garden at the back, the kitchen is really well equipped and there's a television in the lounge and in the bedroom. The house although traditional has loads of modern touches that made the stay really comfortable and easy. Would go back next month if I could! Thank you Jemma.
