A cozy retreat for making memories! Nestled in a sweet spot among beaches, Bearskin Neck, and Halibut Point, The Nest is your home base for exploring Cape Ann, Salem, Boston, and more…an oasis where friends and family (and your EV!) can relax and recharge.

The Nest has everything you need for a memorable getaway. Gather in the open floorplan, or send the kids to the playroom for a movie while you enjoy quiet time in the living room or around the fire pit on the deck.

Cooka meal in the fully equipped kitchen—or boil lobsters!—then gather around the table for a family feast. Or retreat to one of the many private spots to work, curl up with a book, or take a nap.

Our peaceful neighborhood is perfect for stargazing (on a clear night, you can see the Milky Way!) and experiencing the natural habitat. Depending on the season, you might hear frogs singing, spot fireflies flitting about, watch deer or turkeys wander through the yard, or hear coyotes howling in the distance.

Location:
* 7-minute drive/35-minute walk to beaches and shopping in Bearskin Neck, Halibut Point State Park, Folly’s Cove (great sunsets!), and the train that takes you into Boston, Salem, and other towns
* 10-minute walk to the picturesque Pigeon Cove, where lobstermen moor their boats, and Cathedral Rocks, a great spot for snorkeling, scuba diving, stargazing, night photography, or just napping on the rocks
* 5-minute walk to Pine Pit Quarry, the beginning of 2.5-mile walking trail that leads to the Gloucester Quarries
* 15-minute drive to Gloucester
* 35-minute drive or train ride to Salem
* 60-minute drive or train ride to Boston

Amenities of this newly renovated farmhouse include:
* Level 2 EV charger
* Whole-house air conditioning and heating (climate-friendly electric heat pump)
* A ceiling fan in two bedrooms as well as the living room and dining room
* A well-appointed kitchen with new appliances and all the gear you need to cook at home
* First-morning breakfast sundries including coffee, tea, milk, and cereal
* 3 private workstations, one with a monitor and printer you can connect to
* 2 Roku smart TVs that let you log into your own streaming accounts
* Laundry machines, detergent, iron & ironing board
* Loads of books, toys, and games
* Child-friendly tableware, booster seat, baby/toddler bathtub, Pack & Play & baby gate
* Beach accessories: towels, beach bag, cooler, umbrella, chairs & toys
* Large deck with a gas grill, furniture, and Cuisinart Chiminea fire pit
* Two full bathrooms, one with a shower/tub combo (on first floor) and one with a walk-in shower (on second floor).
* Parking for 3 cars in the driveway

Notes about sleeping arrangements:
* There are five beds:
- Bedroom #1 (first floor): King bed
- Bedroom #2 (second floor): King bed
- Bedroom #3 (second floor): Two Twin XL beds. We can connect these to make a King upon advance request.
- Office (second floor): Twin bed. This room has doors that close but everyone has to walk through it to get to the bathroom.
* The house sleeps 6 comfortably in bedrooms, or 7 if you use the twin bed in the office.
* All rooms with beds have room-darkening shades.
* The beds and pillows are of varying firmness, so if you don't like one, try another!
* See the floorplan in the photos for more info.

Please note:
* We live near wilderness, including beaches, quarries, and conservation land. A bug in the house or wildlife in the yard is not unusual and is not indicative of the cleanliness of the house.
* We love our quiet little neighborhood and our lovely neighbors. Please respect their privacy and keep noise to a minimum between 10:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. ABSOLUTELY NO PARTIES. We have a noise monitor on site to alert us of extremely high decibel levels.
* There is no smoking in the house or in front of the house, but you are welcome to smoke on the back deck.
* Please do not sit on or place hot items on the countertops.
* Do not flush wipes of any kind down the toilets.
* There are camera doorbells on the front and side doors, and a camera pointing at the driveway. They are recording at all times. These are for your security and ours.
* There is a Minut sensor in the living room that alerts us to extremely high decibel levels, to prevent disturbances to the neighborhood. It does not record sound.

    We booked this particular house for its wonderful accommodations inside and around the property. Four adults & three children enjoy the spacious in/outdoors. Highly recommend for any family, especially ones with kids.

    We were in town for a wedding. This house is amazing. Spacious, clean, comfortable, and cozy. Great location in a quiet neighborhood. Loved the back deck. Kitchen was well stocked. The hosts have thought of everything. Extra pillows, blankets, charging stations by the beds, tissues in every room. Everything you need for the beach is here - towels, a beach bag, cooler, beach chairs. This place even had a crock pot- something I have always wanted in a vacation rental and have never seen before. There was cereal for our first morning and snacks available. We did not need to buy anything toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, plastic bags, soap, etc were all in abundant supply. We had a question about the tv on arrival and the hosts responded very quickly. We would definitely stay again.

    My husband's family has taken a summer vacation in Rockport nearly every year since the late 1950s. When the boys (my husband and his brother) were young, they would rent a house. Later, as the family grew, they/we stayed in hotels. Within the past five years or so, we've reverted to house rentals. Now that I am the family matriarch, I plan our getaways. Our stay at The Nest was hands-down the best that I can remember. (I've been part of this tradition for more than 30 years.) The location, Pigeon Cove, is our favorite part of Rockport. (We spent many years at the Emerson when it was owned by the Weymusses and later, the Coateses.) The house itself is charming -- vintage New England, but brought entirely up-to-date with tech, HVAC, finishes, etc. Lisa and Wei seem to have thought of everything (appliances, dishware, cookware, spare blankets/towels) -- there's even a sweet secret room for little ones, stocked with toys, books, blankets -- everything a toddler might want. And talk about books! The selection of titles, on shelves throughout the house, is a book lover's dream. Thank you, Lisa and Wei. We hope to visit The Nest again next year.

    We had a great time. The house was very clean and comfortable. Lisa had the house stocked with any essentials we would have needed. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. We loved exploring the area and traveling the 30 minute drive to Salem for the start of fall and the spooky season! ? We would definitely stay here again!

    Wow! My husband & I rented “The Nest” for 6 weeks in August & September and were so impressed at the amazing attention to detail the hosts have given to a stay in their beautiful farmhouse. They have thought of everything needed to enjoy a vacation in Cape Ann. The quality of the furnishings, the kitchen and all the high end cookware and appliances…all new! The neighborhood was so private and quiet we found ourselves whispering when on the deck. The beds are very comfortable and the baths are top notch. This was the best all around house we have rented and there have been many. You can’t go wrong at “The Nest

    We visited with our adult children and partners and this house was perfect for our needs. Both in terms of overall space including a great deck, as well as offering so many amenities. Everything we wished for was there. We found every gadget, every pan, every game or book that we were looking for. It was amazing and we all had a really good time.

    This property had all the conveniences we needed for our vacation after my graduation and more. Tona of books for this book lover and games for the whole family to enjoy. Loved the closeness to the train for heading into Salem as well. Hope to return in the future!
