Welcome to Iseminger Street!

Nestled on one of the most picturesque and quietest car-free streets in Philadelphia: This property is a few blocks from Independence Mall, The Liberty Bell, The PA Convention Center and it’s near the heart of all the historic sites Philly has to offer! Entire two bedroom and two full bath home, a rarity for this neighborhood. One king bed, one queen bed, and one pull-out sofa. Private, covered back patio with ceiling fan, wood fireplace in livingroom, dishwasher, washer/dryer, high-speed internet, coffee maker, all essential: fresh towels, linens, extra blankets, soap, hair dryer, etc. and tons of CHARM included!

While still firmly rooted in history dating back to the 1800s, this house has also been thoroughly updated. What is so special about this home is the original detailing: wood-beamed ceilings, original plank floors, fireplace (fireplace in living room can be used & other three fireplaces are only decorative), paneled doors, & vintage built-ins. Eat in kitchen, large back patio, two spacious bedrooms, & two bathrooms with natural light.

***Please be aware that this property has somewhat steep stairs -- typically ok for most but may not be suitable for very young children or the elderly.***

The entire home is yours to enjoy! The key will be left in a lockbox, so you'll be able to check in & out at your convenience. I will be available throughout your stay if you need anything & I'm always happy to help you customize your Philadelphia experience. If you need any advice on restaurants & things to do then please ask!

My home is in the middle of the Washington Square West neighborhood & was built in 1824. It is one of the oldest & most historic areas in Philadelphia. The neighborhood is residential with historic townhouses, but also walking distance to everything in Philadelphia including many restaurants, bars, & attractions. The Pennsylvania Convention Center, Rittenhouse Square, Old City, Society Hill, South Street, Bella Vista, & Graduate Hospital are all within a five to ten minute walk. The street is one of the most charming in Philadelphia & is quiet despite being in the middle of the city. You'll find everything you might need within walking distance including a corner store, coffee shops, Sweet Box Bakery, Whole Foods, a wine/liquor store, Walgreens, & many top rated bars & restaurants!

Public transportation (bus & subway) is easily accessible. There is a bus stop just east of 13th & Lombard & the subway stop (Broad Street Line) is located at Broad & Walnut. The house is within walking distance to two major train stations (Suburban Station & Jefferson Station). 30th Street Station is a ten minute Uber/cab ride & airport is twenty minute Uber/cab ride. There is also an Indego bike share station just a couple blocks from the house on 13th between Locust and Walnut.

Because my home is located on a car-free street in the heart of the city, nearby street parking can be limited. However, there are a few parking garages & public parking lots close by that charge about $40/day to park. Most street parking near the house is fine for 2 hours, but you can go a few blocks south of South Street to park for extended periods of time & I'm always happy to offer tips & help assist.

Great location, walkable to most of center city sights. Also close to multiple public transit options, which makes it easy to get around. Parking, like most of downtown Philadelphia, can be a challenge. Unrestricted street options and a parking garage are a few blocks away, so not the best option if you want easy access to your car while staying, but this should be expected being in a downtown area. Overall a great stay and it's pet friendly!

We loved staying in a home with so much history and character. The location was great for getting to all of the attractions we wanted to see. If you want to feel like you are not only seeing history, but you also want to immerse yourself in it. This is the place for you!

Brooks place was charming comfortable and fun! We had everything a family would need while traveling and then some. Our location was perfect for walking absolutely everywhere. The restaurants and bars in this neighborhood are all awesome and delicious. And Brook went above and beyond when our flight was delayed and he let us stay cozy and warm later than planned. It was a perfect trip!!!

House was beautiful and in a good location. The stairs are definitely steep and may be a little hard to manage with luggage and the small streets getting to the house are cobblestone but otherwise it was easy to get to. The history in the area is very cool. Everything in the house worked well.

There is so much good to share! The house is cute and quaint. Communication was good. The location was good and central to most everything. The food in this area…13th and Samson is GREAT. Bud & Marilyn’s, El Vez and Prunella were amazing. The neighborhood is full of pride in itself and its history. We had no idea that we were in the Gayborhood or really what that meant; but we loved it, learned its story and felt safe. The beware are the stairs, because those were a workout. Bathrooms, bedrooms and kitchen are only available via stairs but once you accept the challenge and use the handrails you are good to go.

Our family of four had a great stay in this charming historical home during our long weekend stay in Philly. The communication and check in was flawless. The neighborhood was quiet and quaint and close to everything you could need. We walked daily to all of the historical sites and museums. The beds were comfortable and all amenities provided. We recommend this home for your next stay in Philly!

This house has a lot of charm and character and is in a wonderful, centrally-located neighborhood. Even better, it is on a very quiet side street, so we heard very little city noise. It is well-maintained and well-stocked with food, kitchen and toiletry items that visitors might need. As other reviews have noted, though, the stairs are steep, narrow, and winding, and must be navigated to reach the kitchen and the bedrooms, so this property wouldn't be appropriate for anyone with mobility challenges.

This carless street makes you feel like you are in a quiet neighborhood despite being in Center City. Most things are within a short walk or rideshare away. 10/10

We loved the historic house and the very vibrant neighbourhood. And the independent spaces for two adults. It was walkable to theatre, shops, and the American Independence historic areas. The host had good recommendations for restaurants etc. We knew the stairs were steep. They did have good railings and treads. Speaking as a senior, I would suggest safety bars in the bathroom with the tub and non-slip bathmats.

The house was perfect for a week long stay. AC works well, fully stocked with everything you need and very comfortable. Neighborhood has narrow roads and lots of cars so plan for parking difficulties.

We were there to celebrate the 4th of July. We are descendants of one of the signer’s of the Declaration of Independence. My niece was tapping the Liberty Bell. The townhouse and neighborhood are adorable. Great restaurants and we could quickly get around town.

Great place in the heart of the city. Loved the pedestrian street and the house itself had a lot of character. Very walkable neighbor. We parked in the acme parking garage (near Whole Foods).
