Gulf Vista, a lovely 3 bedroom, 2 bath single family home on a protected cove looking out at the Gulf of Mexico for beautiful views and fabulous sunset color.

Now with a stunning freshwater pool! Hard to resist, this new pool offers beautiful views of the Gulf while enjoying the pool or lounging on the built-in sun platform, corner wrap bench seating or the entry steps also purposed for more seating. Affords comfortable use by not only adults but children, older adults and expectant mothers or those with newborns.

This is wonderful piece of paradise overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, across from a large and private conservation preserve with nothing but woods and mother nature. Located on a dead-end road with only two houses beyond for virtually no roadside activity you will feel like you are tucked away in a quiet spot even though all of Marathon's amenities are only a short drive away! Great boating access, straight shot out to the Gulf of Mexico and a short run to Vaca Cut or 7 Mile Bridge for oceanside boating.
The living, dining and kitchen areas are all open to each other with extensive full length glass doors in the living room bringing the light and the outdoors in for an open feel and lovely views as well as breath taking sunset color! A covered balcony runs along the length of the home, perfect for morning coffee or a quiet read. The kitchen is well equipped with new appliances and everything within reach. The bar next to the dining table area provides additional room for a cooks helper or casual help yourself serving.
The living room has a sectional couch so everyone can enjoy entertainment on the 60 flat screen TV which includes Infinity cable service and Netflix, or to just relax together and catch up on the days adventures and plan for tomorrows.

The master bedroom has a king size bed and private bath with tub shower combination. Sliding glass doors open to the balcony overlooking the cove and gulf waters beyond for lovely water views. The bedroom has a 50 flat screen TV for afterhours entertainment.
The second bedroom has a queen size bed as does the third bedroom with a hall bath just steps from each. The hall bath has a tub shower combination. Newly updated washer and dryer are in the hall closet.

The dock offers protected deep-water dockage for your boat on a quiet canal with very little boating activity. The end of the dock has a concrete step-down platform, ideal for launching a kayak to go snorkel the flats just 20 yards from the house on the other side of the boating channel.
The dock length available for guest use is 41' from the owner's boat bow on the lift to the end of the seawall including the 12' run of the stepped down water entry landing (rafting is not permitted-local rental ordinance).
This home is in a lovely residential area, but the owner usually has a boat on the boat lift (not available for guest use) and as a just in case only, security cameras are in place for only the outside dock and drive areas as a deterrent when the house is not occupied. They are not monitored but if you have any issue with your boat or vehicles please report it right away so the recording can be preserved for your benefit.
Please note, pool heat is optional and additional at $200 plus tax per week. You must speak for and pay for the pool heat a week or more in advance of arrival.
A dog is allowed with permission and a pet fee. Please let me know the breed, age, size of the dog.

    This is a fantastic spot, right at the mouth of a channel, in a protected cove with mangroves to kayak in sight. The pool, pool deck, private dockage and balcony are worth the price, and the inside is nicely equipped. Typical FL rental, so expect some slow drains, a janky closet door or two, budget sheets, etc, but all the comforts you need. Stunning evening skies (check out the pic). One warning: that poolside hammock looks tempting but be forewarned: strung too tight. Two of us tried it and got spun over/out and into the gravel like cartoon characters. No joke, nearly broke a rib. Handle with care!

    This was the perfect property for us, my wife and I brought our 28 ft boat and this time we had to bring our dog due to construction at our home. The yard is fully fenced when the driveway gates are closed which made it convenient having the dog. The house is located on a canal which is easy to navigate and plenty deep enough to accommodate 30ft boat, the dock is also adequate for 30ft boat. The nearby boat ramp off of Aviation Drive is really close to the house and easy to access. The street to the house is a dead end with a small turnaround. With our 28ft boat and crew cab truck I couldn't turn around in the cul-de-sac so I had to back down the street to the house but it's not an issue, I was able to store the trailer inside the gate and park my truck under the house. Great property, will be back again!

    Nice house, great views, canal is easy for a boat. Great pool. Plenty of parking. Quiet, and yet close to the center of Marathon.Bring spices, celophane, tinfoil! Kitchen is great. Living room has great views and vedrooms are fine.Clean!

    Do NOT recommend this rental. Poorly maintenanced and stingy owner who will babysit and dictate your entire stay. There are too many other rentals in Marathon, do not waste your vacation on this one.1. There were only 2 towels provided in the entire house. 2. AC gave away late our second night. When we called to notify them, they questioned us for having it set at 65. (We had it set at 65 because it was getting so warm and not keeping up). The owner can see and adjust the thermostat from his phone, which he did multiple times throughout our stay. They had a repair company there at 4pm. The home at this point was at 91 degrees. This ruined an entire day of vacation, as we were travelling with an infant and had to drive around to keep her cool and give her naps. We also had to eat dinner out, which we had not planned to do. Even after it was repaired, it still got up to 76-78 every afternoon. Very underequipped. 3. After the AC went out, the dishwasher broke. We were told to hit it and it would begin working again. 4. We were then called towards the end of our stay and pestered about paying a pet fee. This should have been collected prior to our arrival, as they knew we were bringing a dog from the moment we booked. 5. No cameras mentioned in or contract. We understand cameras on the driveway and dock for security purposes. But there is one facing the pool and a motion detector in the living area that we believe also has a listening device. This was very invasive.

    Loved this property and location. House is at the end of a channel leading to a bay. We rented two kayaks for the week and were able to easily put them in and out of the water right from a platform at the end of the dock - so convenient. The pool was great and beautiful at night. The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable; Fridge has ice maker and cold water dispenser - really great to have. Loved Marathon Key - very laid back. Great restaurants.

    The home was nice great view. The pool was nice but the owner was stingy with the heating for the water even though we paid over 200.00 to heat the pool.

    We booked our gamily Spring Break trip last yr and we got a big surprise when we checked in. The owner had added a brand new swimming pool that we really enjoyed. Very clean home away from home on the canal and over looked the water. Close to everything that we enjoyed which was fishing off of the long key bridge, the aquarium and shops. The only thing we needed with our lining was wash cloths to bath with. We had to go out and buy some. Also if the owner could add a pool net for renters to help keep pool cleaned out. When the wimd blows the palm trees leave debris in the pool. Kitty was very helpful with everything we needed when it came to the cable going out which was strange. The pool kept us busy while that happened. Vacations are always to short our week was very relaxing and enjoyable. Most definitely advise other people to come and enjoy.

    This house is AMAZING, perfect for 4 adults and 2 teens. The living space was great! Nice kitchen and dining table. Living room very comfy with sectional couch and TV. The balcony was awesome for morning coffee and excellent for watching the sunsets! The pristine pool, sun deck, and dock were the best part of the place. We easily launched our kayaks from the swim platform and caught several types of fish from the dock. The pool was super clean with nice entry steps, shallow elevated sunning area and underwater seating. We paid the heating fee which was great for this time of year. The lush landscaping and mature palm trees around the pool provided the perfect amount of shade to relax in the beautiful hammock next to the pool. The canal/ open water view from the backyard were breathtaking! The neighborhood is so peaceful! Large space under home to park to trucks was convenient and we used the gas grill in this area as well. The location is excellent (near small airport, but this did not bother us at all). Easy drive to Sombrero Beach (10 mins) Bahia Honda (25 mins) and Key West (60 mins). We enjoyed LJ’s Cafe Guava Pastries and Cuban Coffee that we would take to watch Sunrise at CoCo Plum Beach (totally unobstructed view). We had great meals at Island Fish Co, Sunset Grill and FL Keys Steak and Lobster. Captain Pips (10 mins from house) Sunset Snorkeling Excursion to the Sombrero Reef was so much fun! Highly recommend this property!
