Stayed Aug 28, 2024We had the pleasure of staying in the Edwardian wing of Bonawe House. A stunning apartment and the perfect place to relax and refresh after a day or two of sightseeing… both around Oban and on the Isles of Mull and Iona. Great food was available within 10 minutes, a lovely little village shop and a lovely garden only added to our enjoyment. The lounge is a space to behold and made for lovely evenings, and the main bedroom was something quite special. On my bucket list for a longer stay in my retirement.

Stayed Aug 16, 2019We were overwhelmed by this stunning house. It was large, roomy, comfortable, extremely gentile, and was surrounded by beautiful property and views. This is one of those out of the way places that you would never find on your own. For me, staying in a classic manor house like this gave me the chance to live, for just a few days, the way I imagine British nobility live when they visit the countryside. It’s a wonderful place to stay If you just want to relax and take walks, and watch the mountain views outside change with the weather and the light. The house had a wonderful kitchen, 1 1/2 bathrooms, and a washer and dryer. The full bath and bedrooms are upstairs, so it is very much a house, and not just an apartment. My daughter enjoyed playing the piano, which was in good tune! And there are puzzles and games. If you come you should plan to stay several days just to take it all in. It is within a few minutes walk to the Bonawe Furnace historic site, which is an interesting visit. And there are nice beach walks nearby. My husband did some fishing, and while he didn’t catch anything, he enjoyed conversations with other fishermen on the pier. We’d love to come back again and spend more time exploring this area.

Stayed Jun 28, 2019This property is gorgeous--from the lovely home to the peaceful meadow full of of sheep and cows that it overlooks--and the mountains and loch in the distance. When we stepped into the Edwardian Wing, we felt transported to another era! It is spacious and thoughtfully decorated and furnished with an eye to historic detail. We wished that we could have stayed longer to explore the area more thoroughly. We regret that we never got to experience the Robin's Nest Tearoom minutes away in Taynuilt--but enjoyed exploring Oban, Glencoe and Fort William. What a beautiful area! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay--we hope to return soon!

Stayed Jun 8, 2019Heavenly. It felt as if we were transported to another age and time of serenity, grace and tranquility. The property is located exactly as Renata’s detailed and clear instructions described. The tiny neighborhood is tucked away about 10 to 15” before you reach Oban. The Edwardian is spacious and beautifully decorated. It was modern yet felt historical. There is a loving spirit about the place that is everywhere. As hosts, Renata was perfect. I spent many moments just watching the colors change over the pasture at sunset. I hope to return someday for a longer stay. My husband and daughter were bummed to hear I only planned two nights there once they saw it. This is the place to go for a once in a lifetime trip. You will be very glad you did. Again, thank you Renata!

Stayed Sep 5, 2018Beautiful location. The Edwardian was a wonderful place to stay. Oban is close enough to go in for dinner, although there were restaurants closer.

Stayed May 26, 2018This is a fantastic place to stay. The property has been beautifully renovated and has everything you need for a home from home holiday. There are a number of properties on site and this meant there were other children around for ours to play with and they all made full use of the huge garden. The hosts live on site and they couldn't be more friendly or helpful. Nothing is too much trouble and they have so many recommendations for places to visit. We're already planning to go back

Stayed Sep 6, 2017We were extremely satisfied with the Edwardian wing. This property is being very well cared for by smart and resourceful owners. Damon and Renate were very helpful. Answered our questions and gave good advice. The area is beautiful. In the village, a moderate walk, or short drive, we were pleased to find a great little grocery store and a very good butcher. Within about 30 minutes by car is the city of Oban, with larger grocery stores and services. We rent units like this so we can use local grocers and butchers and cook our own meals, taking part of local resources, as well as to eat at local restaurants and pubs. We were very pleased, especially with the kitchen at the Edwardian Wing.
