In the late 1800's, George and Lillie Winters homesteaded here. They were the first to settle the Deer Park area, just 4 miles east of Port Angeles, WA. Over the next 100+ years, the farm became a thriving dairy that served wholesome milk to generations of locals.

The Deer Park Farmhouse (built in 1950 by the homesteaders' grandson) sits atop a hill overlooking the original homestead site, where the impressive 1917 barn and twin towering silos still stand. The large 5+ bedroom, 3 bathhouse served home-cooked meals to farmhands and family for decades. Though the dairy is no longer active, the rolling hills and panoramic views remain. And now this farmhouse can be the location of your family vacation or retreat.

Located just outside of town where the rural life-style is still enjoyed, but close enough for convenient access to groceries (2.3 miles), movie theaters (0.8 miles) and shopping. Whether guests are planning a day trip to Victoria, BC, a drive up to Hurricane Ridge, visiting the Dungeness Lighthouse, some kayak trips, or a mountain hike, the Deer Park Farmhouse is the perfect base for their adventures. Or if guests just want to enjoy some solitude and panoramic mountain views from the patio (perhaps a game of lawn croquet or badminton), this home won't disappoint.

Amenities Include:
- Large well stocked kitchen with stove, oven, warming oven, dishwasher, crock-pot, rice/vegetable steamer, electric fry pan, coffee maker, juicer and an abundance of pots, pans, plates, glasses and utensils.
- 3 queen beds, 1 double bed, 2 single beds
- 3 bathrooms (2 with tub/showers, 1 with large shower)
- A large separate family room, especially for the kids, with a collection of classic Disney kids movies (the sound can even be muffled with an inside sliding glass door)
- Full-sized washer & dryer, upright 17 cu. ft. freezer (for any fish you might plan to catch or precooked frozen dinners) and ironing board/iron in large laundry room
- Dining room table that seats up to 10, plus a breakfast bar that 4 can share
- 3 TV's with DVD or VCR players and an extensive DVD/VHS movie library
- Books, games, puzzles, etc.
- Huge off-street 4000 sq. ft. blacktop parking area for boat, toy-hauler, and multiple cars.
- 2 1/2 acre lot providing space and privacy

The main floor has 2+ bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, kitchen, dining room, laundry room, and Family room (5 steps down). The upstairs has 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and a sitting area.

The master bedroom with a queen bed is located on the main floor and has a private bathroom. There is an adjacent room (separated by folding doors) with a double bed intended for younger children needing to be close to parents.

Bedroom 2 has a queen bed and is also located on the main floor. It is right next door to a full bathroom.

Bedroom 3 has a queen bed and is located upstairs. It shares a large bathroom with 2 other bedrooms.

Bedroom 4 & 5 have Twin beds and they are located upstairs.

Very comfortable for our family of 5, more than enough space. We loved watching the deer from the windows as well!

Location was very good for our trip. The children enjoyed the outside space to run around and see deer each night. The family room was another favorite of the children.

Ken was very responsive and answered all my questions thoroughly. Check in process very easy. Gave great recommendations for things to do in the area. Property was somewhat rustic but had lots of amenities and lots of space to spread out. Lots of dishes, pots and pans, spices, and other things like aluminum foil to use to make it feel like home. fun to see deer hanging out in the backyard. Ken was gracious with flexibility in the checkout time. Wish we could have stayed longer as lots to do in the area or just hanging out at the house. Due to a cancelled flight and multiple delays, we came one day later than planned so not as much time in the area as we had hoped. the house could easy accommodate 2 families. there was just 4 of us so it felt very large. We spent most of the time in the kitchen and dining room area in the evenings.

The farmhouse comfortably housed 6 adults a toddler and baby and 2 dogs. We enjoyed being able to have a place to hang out and enjoy a reunion with family living in Port Angeles. The owner Ken was very accommodating and gave us early check in when we all arrived from different locations at different times. Recommend if you have a large family with pets.

Plenty of space with all the bedrooms and family areas. We could all be together and also have privacy… perfect blend. Kitchen is well-equipped and there are various other conveniences, like a cooler we used to take lunches into Olympic.Great location as well. Close to Port Angeles and the park, but in a beautiful rural setting. We had a wonderful family week.

We loved our stay. It’s a quirky home with a lot of character— it felt like visiting my grandma’s house. There was lots of space including a playroom with toys that my kids loved. We loved having space for the kids to run around and explore outside. Everything went really smoothly and the host was very easy to communicate with.

We had an amazing stay in Port Angeles. The house is large with plenty of room for the 9 of us. Our 6 year old was so excited for all the toys in the house. The house was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook large dinners every night. Ken was easy to communicate with and answered quickly. The highlight was of course the deer that come every morning and night.

Enjoyed waking up every morning to see the deer. Enjoyed the central location of the house for our hikes in Olympic. It was a short stay but we enjoyed it.

Great place for a family to spread out and enjoy the Olympic Peninsula. House is definitely a time capsule from an earlier era, but it is very clean and has all the amenities necessary for a comfortable stay. I did have to contact the host for check-in instructions but he responded promptly. Overall was pleased with the space; it served our needs perfectly.

The property has run down out building’s and is close to the road. The area looks very junky. I would not recommend or stay again.

We enjoyed our stay! The house was clean but could use some updating, paint and there was some mold in bathroom. It was great to be in this beautiful Setting and we had plenty of room for our whole family.

I’ll start by saying that this property is overall safe & in generally livable condition. That said, the home is extremely dated, and so every fabric surface - multiple carpets, all couches, drapes, etc. are old and full of dust. It completely flared up my dust allergies in a bad way. It was not a comfortable place to be if this was a trip where the majority of time would be spent in the home. And the couch is extremely uncomfortable and practically unusable. It was an acceptable launch pad to other things, but I definitely wouldn’t book again. The upstairs was also unkempt with what looked like bits of ceiling on a few of the chairs/surfaces. There was also a musty smell in a good portion of the home. I wish I had better things to say.

Amazing! Deer in the yard. Beaches, hiking, beautiful surrounding activities to do. We sat by the firepit and dinner table connecting the lay out was great! Plenty of room for everyone. Clean and homey.

The house had the right number of bedrooms and bathrooms, but was not in great shape. The missing bathroom tiles still hadn't been fixed. The exterior was weedy and midewy/moldy and there was a hole leading into the basement. No one fell down the staircase from the second floor but the lack of railing was concerning. The house had a strong odor - maybe carpets need deep cleaning?
