The Cottage - 2 BR Beach Bungalow near Nightlife!

The house smelled like musty smoke. After a few days our suitcases and clean clothes smell like old smoke and we will have to wash everything. We arrived and the mattress covers were dirty, unknown splashes on wall at bed, and sandy floor. Also didn’t realize there was a second rental basically connected to the house. We had to share a small driveway with another renter. This wasn’t ideal with young children with us. The location is close to beach access and park which was great but the loud music from close bar/night club is clearly heard until close to 3am.

This house was everything we needed! The bunk bed situation was perfect for our young kiddos and house was clean and what was expected when we got there. We were worried about it being right next to a bar and even though the music and people were loud on the weekend, you couldn't really hear it that much in the house. The AC unit in the back bedroom was leaking pretty badly when we arrived, but after a quick email they had an HVAC guy come out and fix it right away. TV was kind of hard to figure out between the 5-6 different remotes but luckily we didn't spend much time watching it anyway. No complaints! Great stay!

Overall this cottage was great and very easily accessible to the store, night life and of course the beach. The only problem, NO AC. It was very hot in there with out the fans provided. There are singular wall units but not enough to cool the place down after the sun hitting it all day. There could use some overall pressure washing and window sills were filthy, but if you are looking for a cute and cozy place, this is it!

Great cottage with up to date amenities and decor. Close to bar and convenience store. Short walk to beach. Very enjoyable stay.

Every time we sat outside we would see rats running across the yard. Notified rental agent and they sent out exterminator but didn’t help. Wasps all over the place. Inside of houses ok. Very outdated but still ok. It’s located right behind a store and a bar and that prob where the rats were coming from but regardless the rats were all over the property. In the front yard there is a box with many exposed wires. The picnic table in the front yard has a broken bench and is very weathered. The grill at the small house had no propane tank so we bought one. When attempting to hook up the hose to the tank smelled gas and realized the hose was leaking around the adapter. Tried to use the grill from the other porch and it had food on it where it had not been cleaned, dirty, rusty etc. The bikes were rusty and had flat tires.

The cottage was cozy, near the beach, and instagram-worthy. There were a couple of issues upon arrival that the property manager attended to fairly responsively (the section of plywood out front on the grass was odd, though). Nice amenities, but they cottage could use at least twice as many place settings. The description states that it could sleep 9, but only has plates and glasses for ~8, iirc. That's an oversight that should be correctly. Otherwise, the location was lovely. I'd be happy to visit again.

This was another beautiful week in Topsail. This is the second time I have stayed in this beautiful house and I LOVE it!!!

Pros: -2 minute walk to public beach access -kitchen stocked with cooking utensils, pots/pans, etc. -6 beds -2 full bathrooms -cute outdoor space -extra supplies like boogie boards, beach chairs, corn hole, bike helmets -washer and dryer! Cons: -bedrooms are both very musty smelling even with dehumidifier on - WiFi does not reach throughout the house -poor experience with getting assistance to fix keypad (required multiple calls) -property was NOT CLEAN when we arrived including piles of sand, dirty countertops, and dirty floors.

The house smelled really bad. I had to buy a can of spray and spray it for 2 days to get rid of the smell. There was a lot of bugs under the furniture and the table was unstable. Wifi was a problem and we could not get a signal in the back of the house.
