Marfa, Texas
Newly renovated casita at Kruger Gallery Marfa. Downtown and located on gallery row, this stylish art-filled casita delivers style, comfort, and convenience. Brand new kitchen and appliances, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and amazing outdoor spaces with an outdoor kitchen and fire pit! Walk to everywhere! One block from the Get Go Grocery Store and Ballroom Marfa. Three blocks from the newly opened Saint George Hotel.
My friend and I stayed at the casita for three nights and found it a mixed experience. The location is convenient to restaurants and groceries, but it is very loud as others have noted on Friday night and the trains run close to the property. The kitchen is fine but there's no microwave and bring your own cooking supplies, coffee, tea etc. The outdoor patio is spacious and the grill is great. Note that the property manager takes a $3000 damage deposit as soon as you book and holds on to that for two weeks after your departure, even though they sign off on the fine state of the casita when you leave.
We lucked up finding this place. It was the perfect spot to spend thanksgiving with our family. Across the street from popular eateries and a couple minute walk to everything Marfa! The back kitchen/yard space is perfection. We will definitely stay here again. Ps…the heater works and well (as an update to previous reviews from others. ?)
My wife and I loved the downtown Marfa condo. It was sleek, updated, clean but had an old word charm due to some of the fixtures, the crank windows and abundance of natural light. The location was perfect for us: just set back from the main road enough so that you were not feeling the traffic but we still walked only a few blocks to our dinner engagement at LaVenture. The quaint front porch was a great place to drink a cup of coffee and enjoy a magnificent sunrise; the back patio space is ideal for privately entertaining a larger group. The beer joint across the street, The Lost Horse, was rocking until 2 am on Friday and Saturday nights and quiet on Sunday night. The next time in Marfa we look forward to staying in the downtown condo again. Enjoy!
Every year we stay at the Casita at Kruger Gallery. The location in Marfa is great. We walk just about everywhere.
Had a great time at the casita. Property manager was easy to get a hold of. Great location for where we were needing to go. Would recommend.
Property as advertised. Easy check in and check out. Walking distance to most everything.
We had a wonderful stay in this casita. It was the perfect size for our party of 3 (would have easily fit four). We have been coming out to Marfa for 10 years and always pick different places to stay and this was a great place for our small group!! It was easy to walk to restaurants and other attractions. While it was located close to the main road through town, we heard no traffic noise while inside. The beds were very comfortable and the showers/bathroom were very clean and well maintained. The artwork in the second bedroom was really beautiful! Great place to stay for small groups that want to be within walking distance of most of the attractions in Marfa.
Very nice place, well appointed and within walking distance to everything downtown
I would recommend this to interested parties, and when we go back to Marfa, this would beour choice again.
Clean property in a convenient location of town walkable to many amenities. House is on a major street with some highway noise, but bedrooms located in the back of the house so we didn't hear any street noise at night. Check in process was easy and property manager was very communicative. Good wi-fi and appliances, and beds were super comfortable. Bathrooms had some minor maintenance issues - toilet that ran, and one of the bathrooms had some minor water damage (pain peeling next to shower, water stains on tile) from the shower curtain not being long enough. Also appreciated not having a very long check-out cleaning list upon departure - just taking out trash. Would stay here again.
Fabulous house near the middle of town. This house is the ultimate understated Marfa home. Spacious and super clean. Easy walk to many of the area hot spots. Would definitely stay at again.
We had a great stay! Everything was just as advertised. Clean, classic modern and cozy beds. We can’t wait to return!
Heater was out and housekeeper communicated with me and brought 4 space heaters. We had to spend the days at a friends house as a winter storm blew in. Had to move space heaters around to different rooms in the evening and morning. I have sent a message to owner but have not received a reply. I want a partial refund as we could not spend the days at the property and the nights were uncomfortable.
Overall good experience but communication with the manager was terrible. Thank goodness for their cleaning lady. Heat went out in the unit on 30 degree weather, communicated this to the property manager and zero response. Good thing it happened on the last nite. Cleaning lady brought space heaters so we didn’t freeze. I realize that the heat could not be fixed right away but a response from the property manager would have been nice.
We stay at the Kruger almost every year and it’s perfect. The location is great, right near all the shops, restaurants, etc. The back patio area is great to hang out and enjoy the stars too.
A friend and I came out for the Chinati weekend which is generally a busy time in Marfa. This is our 2nd time staying at this property and there will definitely be a 3rd. The location is perfect and the house is very clean with all the key amenities. I highly recommend the property and looking forward to coming back.
Great place to stay for the Marfa Lights Festival. You can walk everywhere from the casita. The place has everything we wanted for a long weekend. This is our fifth time to stay here.
Great sleeping for many day trips.
The property is very well located: walking distance to a gas station, bar & restaurants. Beds are super comfortable. Perfect for a group of 4. The outdoor space is a privilege, we cooked an amazing BBQ and enjoyed the fire pit. Highly recommended.
We had a terrible time finding the property. There were few street signs and no street numbers showing the address we were looking for. The property manager was very responsive, and came to help us find it. Guest bathroom floor needed an update. Kitchen and living room were lovely. The book with information needed an explanation about how to access lights. New switches were hard to understand. A paragraph in the book would have been helpful . The patio was lovely, but we never used it because we couldn’t figure out access to the lights! There was no porch light. The VRBO email needs an update with better directions and better Wi-Fi info. Again, the property manager could not have been nicer.
