The Buster Brown Shoe House - lakefront with gazebo and wrap-around porch

Absolutely incredible place and people. Such character in the house. Perfect scenery, and the hospitality was second to none. We will definitely choose the Buster Brown House on our next trip to Sandusky!

Everything was absolutely incredible for our wedding we hosted here. The house was perfect and just a really cool place to host a wedding. The communication with the property managers was always efficient and kind. I cannot thank Dayle and David enough for wonderful time we had. I cannot recommend this home enough and would for sure book with them again!

We had the best time. Everything about this home was warm and inviting.The host was prompt when answering any questions...my grand children had a blast being together. There's nothing more precious than hearing laughter. The bedrooms were perfect for our family size.Thank you again and we'll be back!

Great place for the whole family.

Not really kid friendly there are alot of stairs but that being said the 3 year old had lots of room to run around down stairs. We found everything we needed to make meals while we where there and it has a great dishwasher. Alwaysclean and the owners called me on the way there to explain where the keys were and that they were a phone call away. This was our second time staying here so it felt welcoming and familiar

This home was incredible and exactly what we had hoped for. We had kids and grandkids along with us and everyone found the home inviting and beautiful. This is an annual weekend for our family and really hope to be able to use this location again in the future.

The home is uniquely charming! The host was warm and very welcoming. The home is large. It provided togetherness but also the opportunity for alone time. We had a wonderful time!

Loved the property! We all really appreciated the vintage and quaintness of the house! Vintage and beautiful! It’s hard to find a house with 6 bedrooms to fit all of us and this one did the trick! All rooms were large and the bedrooms were huge! Definitely recommend!!

Location is good. House’s size, feasibility, access and owners are very good. However, it is an old house and things tend to break. We experienced one of the two full bathrooms had an issue with water leakage. During a hot day, the A/C didn’t circulate properly. The kitchen had rotten egg smell when we checked in, but the owner credited us 200. That was nice. Overall, we enjoyed staying in the house.

We had a great week at this property. Very big and plenty of bedrooms for larger groups. Games and ping pong kept the kids busy. Great location near Cedar Point and Sandusky. Would definitely stay again.

The house and property is amazingly beautiful! We really enjoyed our stay and will probably return in the future. The property manager Spencer was very accommodating and helpful. The only downside is there were not enough beds for 17 people. We purchased an air mattress and that fixed the problem for us.

Beautiful house and a great location

Awesome space for our 7th and 8th grade class trip accommodations! The owners were super helpful. There was a ton of space so everyone had a place to sleep either on a bed, couch, or air mattress. The kids loved the old house and all the room to play and explore. Hide-n-go-seek was a hit! The firepit was lovely for s'mores, and the screen in porch was a great extra space to play (or for adults to get away from the volume inside the house!). We had a great time!

Family assembled for a long holiday weekend. This house is perfect for a gathering of adults and kids. The location is perfect and the amenities well-suited for a medium-sized group.

Perfect Lake house. Accommodating a large family. Close to a lot of amenities. Would stay here again in a heart beat.

I spent the weekend here with friends just relaxing and catching up. We all commented on the cleanliness of the property and how spacious it was. There were 6 of us so we were each able to have our own bedroom with plenty of space. The kitchen was somewhat small, but we didn't spend much time in there anyway so it wasn't a big deal. We really enjoyed the enclosed porch and large dining room table to sit around and chat. The house had some very nice views of the lake. The waves were pretty intense when we arrived so we were able to hear them crashing all night long, which wasn't something we expected on Lake Erie. The host made check-in and check-out a breeze and he was quick to touch base with us once we arrived. Would definitely recommend!

This house is charming and quant, beautiful Property and view of Lake Erie from all 3 floors! The wrap around porch and games make it absolutely perfect for family gatherings! Back neighbor cranky but no problem. We will return!

Amazing property tucked away on a quaint and quiet street. Loads of space. Very reasonable policies and amazing communication from Spenser (owner’s son who manages the property). Kind and accommodating. We would love to be back and would highly recommend.

This house was nostalgic and homey. Overall, we were very pleased and hope to visit again. It comfortably housed approximately 14 of us ranging from 3 years old to mid 50’s. It was fully stocked and prepped for people to stay; from kitchen appliances and supplies, to sheets, linens, and towels, even box fans- which is a must for us! One draw back was not having a bedroom on the lower level as one in our group has a medical condition that limits her mobility, but it was not a dealbreaker. The home was very clean. Spenser was very communicative and accommodating. The neighbors were close, but friendly. The location was amazing. 5 minutes to a local park with a beach and park. 10 minutes to Cedar Point. 5 to 10 minutes from Kroger, WalMart, and Mejier. Approximately 20-30 minutes to Catawba Island which hosts several orchards, wineries, and breweries. One favorite was Twin Oast Brewing. Amazing atmosphere! Also approximately 15-20 minutes to Port Clinton for the 30 minute ferry ride to Put-In-Bay.

We shared wonderful memories here! The host quickly and efficiently responded to questions and/or needs. A friendly squirrel greeted us and took nuts from our hands. Very roomy with many areas to spread out for quiet moments, yet gather together for meals and ping pong or to shoot pool. A private beach and play ground and of course Cedar Point just 10 minutes away. Reasonable pricing and all the amenities necessary.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Buster Brown house. we especially enjoyed the back yard and wrap around porch. The property was just as it was described by the owner. The property manager Spenser was very helpful and responded to any of our promptly. It was a great relaxing stay with Sawmill Creek Golf and Cedar Point very close by. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare and store meals for 13 people. We just wished we had a crockpot and airfryer.The only improvements we would suggest is an upgrade of gueen beds from doubles.
