Great stay here. Owner helpful and responsive (goes above and beyond). House well appointed, had everything we needed. We rode the alpine loop on atv/ dirt bikes and stayed overnight here. Great location, within walking distance to restaurant for supper. Would highly recommend. Thank you for a wonderful stay! Hope to be back next year.
We loved the victorian charm and history of this place. we appreciated the historical information the owners have for guests. Everything was clean and very comfortable
We are grade school..jr. high and high school friends here for yearly reunion. Very nice place..big yard..eclectic cute house..everything we needed.
This home was large enough for our family and was centrally locacted in town. This allowed a short walk in town to see the sights. We had deer in the yard an outdoor fire pit and great views. We would highly recommend this property. Jim was wonderful! He was friendly and easy to contact. The property was very well stocked with the daily needed items!
Wonderful historical house, high ceilings, more than enough room for our 10 people & our vehicles with trailered ATV’s. We enjoyed the outdoor fire pit every night after our rides. Lake City has old town charm & trail head access from town. If we make it back, again, we will definitely look to the Bonnie Rose.
We had a great stay at this historic home in Lake City. Lots of space for everyone, and everything we needed. Hope to return again!
Our stay was just as expected. An older home with lots of history. Jim was a fantastic host and was great at communicating and fixed a leaky shower ASAP! We had plenty of room for our family. It was a quick walk downtown and a there is a school with a fabulous park (and basketball court) across the street. A great stay, we will likely return.
We had a great time while we was in Lake City. This was our first time in the area and we loved being there. The property was great! Jim had great communication about any questions we had. It was clean and comfortable couldn't have asked for a better place to stay while we was there. I hope that we can come back again next year!!
Great place to stay! Fun decor. Tons of space for a large group. Were able to easily bring our furry friends. Easy communication. Close to ice park. Would stay again!
We were looking for a place to relax and just enjoy some time with family. This property was perfect. Close to everything we needed and things to do. Would definitely stay again.
The house was great. The host’s were great. Easy check in. We enjoyed the fire pit and back yard.
Everything was so easy. The house was immaculately clean. We used the pub area a lot. It rained the whole time but not the house’s fault, but there was plenty of room to play games inside. The backyard was huge and the fire pit was a nice touch. Watch out for the deer poop! I left my wedding rings at the house and Mr Gowdy quickly went over and found them for me. He kindly got them to the post office and sent them back to me immediately. I highly recommend staying there if you want to stay in town! If I had to add a critique it would be the issue of hot water down stairs. Thanks for everything.
As soon as I stepped through the door, I literally booked for next year!! It's that great! The outdoor fireplace with a stack of wood available to us was a huge bonus!!
Mr. Gowdy was very pleasant and answered questions about business's in town. The house was clean and easy to access.
Jim was a great host and met us to be sure we had all the info we needed for the house. Beautiful old home with lots of history.
Pros: it was clean, the beds were nice to sleep in, the kitchen had all new appliances and the property was very convenient to where everything is. Cons: It looked like there was a few unfinished carpentry projects. A tour group came by while we were sitting outside around the fire and stared at us for a few minutes. The guide, as he was leaving, told us the house was haunted. That disturbed a couple of my friends who had a hard time sleeping that night.
Great property management. Fast response when messaging. Plenty of space for our group of people. Plenty of space to park truck and trailers.
Owners were easy to work with. The kids really enjoyed having the playground next door and the fire pit for s’mores!
Really went above & beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Great host! Thanks again
Wonderful stay at a beautiful mountain location. Jim was awesome to work with and we are already talking about staying in a Gowdy property next year.
This property was perfect for our large family outing. The parking was sufficient for all the trailers and the house had so much room!! The huge yard was perfect for the pups and cornhole
We had the best time staying at this cabin. Jim was so gracious to give us any help and even brought us firewood. We had the best time and the location is so easy to walk to all things in town!
What a great experience. The Gowdy’s are excellent hosts, the property is in great shape, well-located, and just as described on the site. The decor and atmosphere of the house make you feel like you’re in the heyday of mining era Lake City, but also offers all the creature comforts expected by modern travelers (ice-maker, microwave, coffee and fixins!). Family of five with three teens, and we were extremely comfortable (and there was room for prob 6-7 more people) We’ll definitely be back. Thanks for being great hosts!
This is our first time at this property but second time at one of Jim and Dana’s properties, and they are great. The Gowdy’s go above and beyond to make sure the stay meets and exceeds expectations. Will be staying with them again in the future!
