Perfect location, beautiful design and decor, comfortable beds, heated pool, efficient layout, spacious common areas, each bedroom with private bath. We just really couldn’t have asked for anything more. Landmark was also really easy to communicate with and quickly responsive. Hoping this house is available again next spring.

Property was amazing. Main floor has an amazing layout for large groups to gather. We had 11 adults and everyone was very comfortable. We heated the pool and it was probably too warm but we were still in it a lot. The pool lights at night were really nice for evening swims. Highly recommend this home

Perfect house for a multi-generation family gathering. Well equipped kitchen, lots of sleeping options. Actually have enough chairs in the dining area for all of us to eat together! Same for around the pool.Definitely a residential area, mostly single homes, so beach was never crowded! Pool is great for children - there is an elongated first step they can play on and the deep end is only 5.5 ft. Had some ice maker trouble but management company was quick to follow up and help fix it. I would definitely bring all the things that are listed as not provided! You need them

Booking and all arrangements (including equipment rental) were seamless and communication from Landmark was excellent. The beach at this house, the pool, and all external features were wonderful. The house itself gathered rave reviews from all guests (ten adults and a toddler) - everything worked well, multiple decks to enjoy, and the kitchen/dining/living room/wet bar setup was perfect for our needs. We absolutely recommend, and we plan to return to The Birdhouse.

The only critiques our group had was 1. The property really should have a grill outside for cooking. 2. The kitchen could have used a crockpot and some higher quality pots and pans. 3. Because the home is all hardwood floor, it's fairly loud in the bedrooms as people are hanging out and moving around. Wed definitely stay again, especially if a grill is added to the amenities.

Lots of rooms, nice appliances and comfortable furniture, great views and easy access to floors for the elderly with the elevator. Where it falls short is the amenities that would normally come with a rental. Only one towel in the bathrooms for drying off (We had 8 adults and 4 kids over 17), no hand soaps anywhere, no dishwasher tablets, no dish washing soap, no washing machine detergent and a few other household items that you shouldn’t have to buy when spending that kind of money on a rental. Most of the beds were comfortable, but if you weight more than 20lbs don’t even think about sleeping in the bunk beds. This is a brand new home and not sure how much experience the owners have with rentals, but for few hundred more dollars this would have been outstanding. If the owners don’t plan on furnishing the simple things like hand soaps, enough towels and dishwasher/washing machine tablets, they should let you know so you can bring them from your house.

This house was perfect for the family we had...separate levels and two different living rooms was great for everyone. The main gathering great room was better than the pictures! It was great for all of us to hang out and able to talk to everyone.The beach walking was loved by all and we even got to see dolphins directly in front of us daily!The only downfall was the expectations for us to clean up before leaving. We are a military family and found a lot of 'stuff' in places that obviously werent cleaned by the management team. The strict expectations of the dirty linens was also a bit silly, we couldnt put all of them in the very small bag provided, so unfortunately we left the piles by the door.There were towels provided, but some had to be used to step out of the shower as there were no bathmats for safety. The 'starter supply' provided was very laughable as we were provided the cheapest smallest 4 pack of toilet paper for a house that had 8 bathrooms. There was no hand soap in any of the bathrooms either. The one bottle of hand soap in the kitchen was just about empty. This was very disappointing as I have rented many places on VRBO, and just expected more for what we were paying.Again this home is new and beautiful and my family loved spending time together and all gushed about what a nice place and location I picked out. If we were to head back for another family gathering I would definitely look at this place again as this was a great family place.

The house is spacious, beautiful and sparkling clean! Every bedroom had its own beautiful bath which was such a convenience. The gigantic kitchen island made for plenty of room to gather and prepare meals. The views from the deck were gorgeous! The house is exactly as pictured on website. Access to the beach was easy, though I will caution that the beach is narrow at high tide, so we had to place our shade close to dunes. We were able to see the kids playing on the sand from the deck at the house. Location to Food Lion is quick and easy and there is a Dollar General and Beach shops near by as well. We loved our time at the Birdhouse and hated leaving!

From the under house parking for 4 vehicles, to the twin bunk rooms, to the kitchen/dining seating for 15 with double dishwashers, the house was perfect for our extended family. The multi-tiered decks with views of the beach and access from all three king-bed rooms provided excellent views of the pool and beach. There was an initial challenge finding the driveway as the home is accessed from a shared entry off of the main road with a small gap in the shrubs. Once found, it was easy to recognize in return trips. The few minor maintenance issues were quickly resolved by the property management company. The property was overall pretty clean, however there were dirty dishes in the dishwasher and a bag of trash in one of the pool chairs when we arrived - minor annoyances more than anything. The only other concern were that the dishwashers did not do a great job of cleaning the dishes. Otherwise, it was a great house. While you are here, definitely plan to visit Celtic Creamery in Surf City and Salty Turtle Brewing! We would definitely recommend this property to friends or family and would stay here again.

Reviewer Comments: The Bird House is an amazing property in a quiet location with ocean views from every floor and easy private beach access right off the pool. We had a multi generational trip with ages ranging from 26-85, and it was perfect for everyone. The large common area provided plenty of space for all of us to be together, yet room enough for everyone to have their own spaces for those that were working remotely or just needed some quiet time. Every bedroom had its own bathroom in addition to the half bath on the main floor and porches on 3 levels overlooking the pool and beach. Top notch appliances including large freezer/refrigerator, dual dishwashers and ovens and fully stocked kitchen made it easy to feed our crew of 9. Wine fridge was also an added bonus! The elevator was helpful for my elderly parents that wanted to bypass steps, and was helpful in bringing luggage and groceries in easily. Very clean and beautifully decorated. The management company was also top notch. Very responsive and helpful in every way. We have rented many large homes in the past, and this one is at the top of our list as a favorite.
