Stayed Oct 10, 2025This by far was my favorite VRBO rental I have ever booked. The house was perfect for our family get together. The place is so beautifully decorated and everything in the house is well thought out and top quality. The place is very clean and organized. We can't wait to return.

Stayed Aug 29, 2025We come to the Hiawasee River each year. As our family has grown we’ve needed a bigger house and Sweetwater Bluff did not disappoint. We all had plenty of room for together time and even room to separate. The adult kids and my grandson thoroughly the game room. The home was well appointed and very clean. Beds were comfortable. The stairs to the river were daunting for some, but we made it work just fine. The added bonus was coming home with buns of steel. lol Thank you so much for your hospitality! We had a great time!

Stayed Jul 17, 2025What a beautiful and fun weekend at this sweet home on the water! We traveled with friends, 3 families total with teens and everyone had a blast! We tubed from a park down the road, right to the property which was about a 20 min float. It was fabulous! Looking forward to coming back in the fall!

Stayed Jun 19, 2025This property was everything and more. We rented for two days for a wedding at Brasstown Valley. Three couples and two singles. The place was clean well decorated and offered pleasant surprises around every corner. So many places to sit and enjoy nature and the river, including outdoor and screened in porch, as well as a prepared firepit. And the game room had EVERYTHING. We had a small rehearsal dinner there and the kitchen had everything we needed. The Master Bedroom was out of this world amazing. Perfect for Groomsmen staging area.Everyone that was there wants to go back.

Stayed May 16, 2025My group had an amazing time staying at this property! The views were stunning, from the multiple outdoor hangout areas with plenty of bonfire seating and an excellent spot to hang out by the river. The accommodations were perfect, from the well equipped kitchen to the large spacious bathrooms and bedrooms and entertainment options downstairs (ping pong, pool table, and air hockey). Lanie was incredibly helpful and always quick to respond to any questions. The next time our group plans a getaway to North Carolina, we are definitely going to be returning =)

Stayed Dec 6, 2024I recently had the pleasure of staying at this stunning mountain house, and it was an experience I'll never forget! From the moment we arrived, the house immediately exceeded expectations. Nestled in the tranquil, picturesque location of the North Carolina mountains on the Hiawassee River, the setting was absolutely serene. We really enjoyed taking walks around the river and waking up to the sound of the babbling water. The house itself is spacious, beautifully designed/decorated, and equipped with everything you could need for a relaxing stay. We enjoyed playing billiards and hanging out by the campfire. The kitchen is a dream, decked out with all the accessories needed to feel at home while cooking up a family meal. My favorite feature is the wood-burning fireplace. There's nothing like unwinding from the day in front of the warm fire with your loved ones.I highly recommend going into town while visiting. There are plenty of delicious restaurants to choose from, along with mom-and-pop stores/boutiques to shop at. Highly recommend if you're looking for a nice weekend getaway or a relaxing week out of town! Can't wait to go back!

Stayed Oct 18, 2024Enjoyed a 2 night stay with family and friends in this beautiful home. Completely remodeled and gorgeously furnished. Open floor plan with large kitchen and family room … great for fun gatherings. Home sits right above the Hiawasee River… steps down from backyard lead to a couple mile hiking trail right along the river. Plenty to do in the area with great restaurants and quaint downtown Hayesville. Very comfortable, roomy, and well equipped home!

Stayed Jul 12, 2024This house was wonderful for our three generation family vacation. The kids stayed downstairs with lots to do and great soundproofing. Right on the river...spent many hours there relaxing while the kids played in the water and climbed the river rocks. Kitchen was super well appointed with high end appliances, cooking utensils, cookware and serving ware. Not near any paved road with lots of acreage, so we could let the kids play outside without worrying. Highly recommend!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969This home proved to be a great location for the annual Fourth of July reunion for our large and growing family of eight adult and one teenaged children and a few significant others. We made good use of the large great room for meals and relaxing, and the screened-in porches, ample deck space, hot tub, fire circles, and basements offered refuges for those who needed a little alone time. The river was beautiful and a joy to wade or fish in, or to just idle next to while enjoying the trees, water, rocks, and nearby mountains. That said, the stairs to the river bank are long and steep—we counted nearly 120 steps. The cardiovascular workout was well worth it for my crew, who are all in pretty robust shape, but it may give others pause. The house was in striking distance of some scenic Appalachian trails; we sampled trails in the Nantahala National Forest and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Mostly we hung around this lovely property and reacquainted ourselves with each other. There were some minor issues with the hot tub and water pressure (the latter due to heavy well usage in the neighborhood over a holiday), but Lanie was an attentive, responsive, and personable host. We enjoyed our time and would stay here again if we ever take a family vacation in the area again.
