Stayed Jun 4, 2022The lodgings were good. Everything that was needed was there. All the kitchen utensils needed and some more.. The location was quiet, although the football games nearby gave some noise on sateruday and sunday but that is also part of the charm of staying in an village and not in a holiday park. That part of the French coast is amazing. Lots of variety, charming, idyllic and Ambleteuse is a nice not too much touristic village. We're planning to return one day.

Stayed Aug 20, 2016We have just returned from spending a week in this cottage. It lived up to the pictures on the website and was much larger than expected, plenty of room for us and our 3 children (14, 8 and 6). The local supermarket was only a short walk away and there was a choice of bread shops and several restaurants, all very close. A mobile shop came to the door at about 10am most days. The beach had rock pools and sandy areas and an old fort, all very quiet. Unfortunately the fort only opens at weekends, and we missed the chance to explore inside. Certain areas of the beach have lifeguards and flags indicating whether swimming is advisable. There are several WWII museums and artefacts nearby, much to the 14 year old's delight. There was a basketball court and table tennis table (net, but no bats and ball) close by that seemed available for anyone to use, although our French was perhaps not up to reading the rules! Very convenient to reach the cottage from Calais.
