Rileyville, Virginia
Top of the mountain views of Shenandoah Valley, closer to SNP and Shenandoah River, 20 minute hike to waterfall, private, wood stove, beautiful floors, 2-level deck upper part covered, lower part open, hot tub, lots of wildlife, firepit, leather reclining couch, wheelchair accessible (no steps, 36" doors). VERY unique property.
Huge vaulted ceilings in living room and open floor plan. Both bedrooms have king-sized beds. Master bedroom has private access to deck and hot tub.
You'll have the entire place to yourself!
Other things to note:
ROAD AND VEHICLE: While the cabin is accessible for a normal car, we HIGHLY recommend a higher clearance vehicle like an SUV. Subaru's and RAV4's are common, but many other vehicles are also on the mountain. We offer an SUV (free of charge) to guests who prefer to use it for the final mile to the cabin.
SHEETS/TOWELS: Neither sheets nor towels are provided but there are plenty of blankets, comforters & pillows at the cabin. We use a linen service for those who need sheet and/or towels and simply pass the cost to you for an additional fee. Most guest simply bring their own.
PETS: Pets are welcome (there is a pet fee). There is a pet disclaimer, so please review policies regarding pets under the House Rules.
AMENITY USE: We work hard to keep everything fully operational, but occasionally appliances & equipment such as dishwashers & hot tubs, etc can malfunction. We will service & restore these amenities as quickly as we can, but will not make any rental concession for time without these items. Please follow all guidelines & policies regarding use of amenities in order to keep them functioning properly.
BOOKING MINIMUM: 3 night minimum to book all holidays, 2 night minimum for all non-holiday dates.
Beautiful spot on the top a mountain top. Cozy and restful. Perfect to bring in a New Year.
We loved this little getaway spot! The view was gorgeous and the cabin was so clean and cozy!
Everything was exactly how it looked in the photos! The stay was so peaceful & the cabin was very clean!
We really appreciated the cleanliness and comfort of the Sunset cabin. It was spacious and well equipped. We have often experienced rental properties with dishes, kitchen tools and utensils that looked like leftover pieces or bought at flea market. Not the case here. Decent cookware, everything in working order and the cabin was super clean, nicely decorated. Both bedrooms were nice size with king beds and own bathrooms. Views from the balcony were great!
It is a wonderful property that is just as listed. Very new, very clean, great amenities, amazing view. It is a little difficult to get to, 4x4 is definitely recommended. Would absolutely stay again.
Everything we hoped for , location, night sky peace and quiet
Great house, has everything you need! And the view is incredible!
We loved our visit to the cabin. The pictures do not do the views justice. We ran into some tough weather this past weekend, so there were no gorgeous sunsets for us. However, we did spend a fair amount of time on the desk just listening to the rain. It is a great place to escape from reality for a few days. The drive-up is tough, and you can do it without 4wd. However, it will most certainly be a bit nerve-racking. However, whatever you do, please don't allow the road up to be a deterrent to this gem of a location.
Sunset cabin was the perfect home for the holidays! We enjoyed everything the cabin has to offer. The bbq, the breathtaking views, and the peaceful atmosphere. The house was well equipped with everything we needed. Walmart is a short drive from the cabin if anything is needed. The cabin was very clean. Definitely recommend this cabin for any occasion. My family and I had a great time! Hoping to be back soon! Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us!
We wanted remote and that's what we got! Beautiful cabin nestled in the woods overlooking Shenandoah valley. We enjoyed the hot tub every morning with coffee and every evening with a glass of wine. The house was perfect.
The cabin and view are beautiful. It's obvious the cabin is very new and well taken care of. The beds are comfortable and the water pressure in the showers is good (side note, may want to add some non-slip decals or safety bar in showers). The deck is great to sit out on an enjoy the view! So here's the downside, the road up to the cabin is terrible. It's one lane, dirt and stones and very steep. There are deeps ruts and divots that are impossible to completely avoid. My 4WD SUV handled it fine, but it was very nerve-wracking to drive. When you encounter someone coming from the other direction, you get to try to coordinate who is going to back up into the nearest driveway. We definitely altered plans after driving up the first time. It's doable, but no fun at all. Also, I travel thru the mountains frequently and drive these roads all the time, so it's not just that these roads are unfamiliar to me but this is by far the worst mountain road I've encountered. I cringe thinking about trying to drive when it rains or worse, snows.
After a long day hiking off Skyline Drive, a relaxing soak in the hot tub with a view of the mountains was just what we needed. The road was a climb up, but the house is well situated and very well equipped. Perfect spot for two couples, since it has two very comfortable king size beds and bathrooms. We found the waterfall, but sadly it was dry! Our host, Brian, offered great guidance and communicated well.
We had such a great time staying here. Easy check in process, super friendly and accommodating host/property manager. The location was great for us because it was secluded and close to Luray. We went hiking in the Shenandoah National Park almost every day. We highly recommend staying here!!
The sunset cabin was perfect! The views from the back deck at sunset are amazing. My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary with a trip to this cabin. It had everything we needed and more! Can't wait to return.
The cabin is lovely and the view is stunning. The hot tub was perfect after a long day hiking through the park as well. Great place!
Stunning views of sunrises, sunsets, and star filled skies. We spent nearly all of our time there sitting on the back deck taking in all the beautiful views. The hot tub was much appreciated to relax sore and tired muscles. The cabin had every amenity that you could ever need. The drive up and down the road to get to the cabin was a bit of an adventure, but so worth it and added to the whole wonderful experience. We enjoyed our stay immensely and can't wait to return.
Enjoyed the peace, great views, property well cared for. Steep narrow gravel road to get to the property but well worth the effort.
Wonderful host that has a great cabin in Rileyville for seeing sites from Charlottesville (Monticello) to Luray (Caverns) to Shenandoah National Park (great hikes!). Both rooms with King beds, hot tub, deck with awesome sunset views, and encourage you to unplug - do a puzzle, read a book, play a card game, etc. We had a great week!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Clean new cabin all on one level. One minor issue when we arrived and it was taken care of, literally, in under 10 minutes! Incredibly helpful and responsive owner and manager. And the view and sunsets were spectacular. Can't wait to return.
We have a great time, biut
Left behind the hustle ans bustle of city life for this cabin overlooking the valley. Superb deck with hot tub, grill and ample chairs and tables for relaxing and enjoying the sunset. So much rivet and hiking fun nearby. Recommended.
Beautiful view from a cozy cabin.
We cannot say enough great things about our stay. From the beginning Brian was responsive and helpful, making sure we knew everything before arrival. He went above and beyond to touch base on our stay. While the road up was a little intense, it was nice to know there was an SUV for use in case our vehicle had difficulties. When we arrived, it was clean and inviting. The pictures of the view don't do it justice honestly! The open concept living/dinging space has everything you need. We cooked and found a great selection of kitchen items for use. But the best part was the hot tub! It was clean and pre-heated and very easy to use. We are so happy we chose this location and 100% will be back!
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin, despite rainy and overcast weather. We had everything we needed to have a nice getaway in the mountains. The beds were also super comfy, which is a rarity from my experience. While we were there, the kitchen sink started leaking - I texted the property manager who responded right away, and came out and had it fixed within a couple hours. He was super friendly, as well as efficient. Great experience at the cabin overall. Just wish the weather would have been more cooperative!
