Description

Unwind at our cozy riverfront cottage. The home was recently updated for a modern and charming feel, with large expansive floor to ceiling windows optimizing views of the West River. Enjoy waterfront living from the backyard and access to a private pier.

The single story space is comprised of two bedrooms, each with a queen bed and private full bathroom. Guests may also use the open living room loft, accessible via drop-down stairs, which has an additional two twin beds. The master bedroom features a large picture window with stunning water views.
The open concept living area consists of a large and updated kitchen, with bar seating, dining table that sits 6 and a comfortable sectional where you can sip coffee and enjoy a peaceful morning watching our resident blue heron and osprey.

Enjoy the amenities of being on the waterfront! Guests have access to paddleboards, kayaks and a private pier. This location is prime for crabbing – take advantage and utilize the dock’s crab pots during crab season. Take a nap in the hammock. Enjoy sunset dinners on the gravel patio, with access to a grill and large sunshade umbrella. End your night with s’mores at the fire pit.
Plenty of onsite parking.

Guests will have access to the entire property, with the exception of the garage and the loft over the TV.

Note that the community boat ramp and beach area are for residents only. However there is a public boat ramp for guests to use close by.

Situated on the quiet Shady Side peninsula, the cottage is conveniently located just an hour outside of Washington D.C. and just 30 minutes south of Annapolis directly on the West River, a tidal tributary of the Chesapeake Bay.

Absolutely gorgeous setting! We spent every morning (and most evenings) in the Adirondack chairs overlooking the water. The house is impeccable and updated. Initially we felt far from everything but found quaint waterfront restaurants and shops in a Deale and Galesville. Jays Latin food and Corner Grille were great spots too! We will definitely be back!

This was my second time staying at this property—first for a friend weekend and this time to bring my husband, son, and mom—and I expect it won’t be our last. Super easy getaway from the DC area for water views, a quiet area, and nature activities nearby. Stacy was helpful with recommendations for the latter, as well. We’re eager to stay again when the weather is warmer to get out on the water—but despite a chill, the home and views did not disappoint!

Beautiful home for a girls weekend away. The view is spectacular, host was communicative, and lots of thoughtful small touches throughout the home and the experience. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
