Stayed Oct 4, 2024Beautiful view and access to the beech on a nice gated property. Kitchen and bathroom were not the nicest but very usable. Biggest downside was the master bed was very uncomfortable and quite squeaky. Would consider staying again possibly

Stayed Sep 5, 2024The private lake Huron beach access is amazing, AND they provide firepits and free firewood provided. Enjoying the crashing waves, expansive starry night sky, and a crackling fire all together was absolutely spectacular. The house itself is basic and practical. House came with one towel for each of us, Host quickly brought us a second set so we'd have a set for swimming and showering when we asked. Coffee maker was a Nespresso, but the host brought a drip coffee maker when we asked as well. Areas of improvement: Kitchen knives are very dull. Kitchen was stocked with 2 cutting boards and a baking sheet. There are no baking pans. There's only salt and pepper and some very solidified expired spices. Batteries in the TV remote are out TV screen is small, maybe 15in, but we came for the water! remember to bring a speaker and any games you may want, house doesn't have many. Best full grocery store (Mejer) is 30 min away. 5min away you can find an extensive gas station grocery store with basic vegetables. Beds - are fairly uncomfortable. The Primary bedroom is on the ground floor (double bed) has a locked door that connects to the second adjoining separate unit. The other 3 beds are singles in a shared space upstairs they creek and squeal every time you move on then so bring ear plugs. The screens had some holes in them so some bugs got in. The owners live on the property. between your house and the road a ways away. But only saw then when they brought over the

Stayed Aug 22, 2024This was the perfect home base for our kayaking adventures. We had a wonderful stay as everything was exactly as described. Plenty of room for my small kayak trailer, the available charcoal grill was an added bonus

Stayed Jul 29, 2024Our stay on the private beach along Lake Huron in the quiet Thumb Region was really wonderful. My children enjoyed going out to the beach, feeling safe, and especially liked the twin beds on the upper level - their own loft and hideaway. The property offered all it boasted. It would be better to have the duplex home listed as 2 separate vacation homes. It was difficult to tell which listing was the property we were staying in. We didn't mind having neighbors but we didn't understand they were joined. Love this region of Michigan. We hope to be back.

Stayed Aug 1, 2024We love this property. It allows my elderly parents a short and manageable walk to the beach, and benches that they can sit on to enjoy the water that they grew up on. Having both apartments allows the family to spread out (there were 10 of us) and access to both kitchens, refrigerators and the washer and dryer, helped with our reunion preparations. My older bones didn't appreciate the fold out futons, but the recliners in #1 were very comfortable and easy to use to catch a nap. The Dollar General located easily in town provided easy pick up of the charcoal and laundry detergent we needed. We appreciated the night lights through the house as it got very dark in the evenings.

Stayed Jul 15, 2024This is a beautiful place with a private beach on Lake Huron. Quiet, restful, beautiful wildflowers next to a stream that empties into the lake. A lovely place for birdwatching or sitting on the beach watching occasional freighters in the distance. The cottage was perfect, clean, and tidy. The only problem I ran into was that I never received the code for entering the property. That was very difficult after a long drive. I tried calling the host 3 times with no luck, so I had to contact VRBO.They also tried the number with no luck. They suggested I use hotel.com to reserve a room in a hotel. I ended up reserving a non-refundable hotel room that was about 45 minutes away. (It was the closest place available). After filling up with gas to go to the hotel, the host from the cottage finally called and gave me the codes I needed for the property. At this point, I was tired and hungry and grateful to not have to drive any further. I called the hotel to cancel and they told me my money would not be refunded. So I ended up losing over $200. I am hoping VRBO can help me with this as I was put into this predicament by the lateness of my host to respond with important information. Communication was very disappointing. I never received information prior to the long drive. The host insisted that she texted it to me, but I had never received a text from her. I am used to having clear directions from VRBO hosts the weekend prior to leaving for the trip.
