The kitchen had some staples like oil, salt and pepper, they were oddly stacked by the stove and limited. There were coffee filters, which was appreciated and a coffee pot, but no coffee. There were no paper towels, bare minimum dishes (four plates, a few bowls, a few cups). There was some foil and plastic wrap, but no Tupperware. There were five paper plates. No napkins. The sink was slow to drain. The dishwasher was not plugged in and a sign said do not use. The disposal in the sink was broken. The stove was greasy and oven was dirty. The floors needed to be mopped. The third bedroom was not a bedroom, rather a Jack and Jill connection room that had to be accessible through one of the bedrooms. This meant whoever slept in it couldn't get out to the bathroom at night without disturbing one of the other two bedrooms. Also, this room was where the TV was located, so it was tricky to watch a show as a group especially because the couch was pulled out into a sofa bed (as the third bedroom). There was no TV in the common living room. The bathroom was fine. There were 6 towels and two washrags in the house. For 6 people for 5 days this felt lacking. There are only 2 beds and 2 pull out couches. I was charged 50 extra to get linens for the pull out couches, then told that they generally charge and extra fee per person above 4 people. This conflicts with the Sleeps 8 on the listing. Be prepared to pay extra for people to sleep on pull out couches.

Clean, spacious, with plenty of beds, nice kitchen living room with morning light. Having a garage to park in is a big plus. Great coffee two blocks up, proximity to the park, and adjacent restaurants. Great value for a large group!

I had a very disappointing experience with this rental. The host canceled my reservation just 30 minutes before check-in, claiming there was an issue with the electrical system—something that had apparently been a problem for days. What makes this worse is that he confirmed everything was fine just that same morning, giving me no warning at all. Canceling at the last minute, especially when the issue was known in advance, is completely unacceptable. It left me stressed, stranded, and scrambling to find alternative accommodation. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for reliability or professionalism!

The property was in a good location and had plenty of space for our family. Access to the garage for our car was great and it was pretty convenient to explore the city from the house. Communication/check in with the host was good.Inside the house things were clean and functional but most things were done as cheaply as possible. Instead of curtains there were sheets thumbtacked over windows. The furniture/housewares were minimal and all cheap/old. The property was quite a bit cheaper than comparable homes in the area for our stay so we felt it was a decent value but you do get what you pay for here.

Although it was a short stay, the accuracy of the listing was a bit disappointing. The rug going up the stairs isn't an actual rug and is just an old bath towel. The blinds are old and Dusty. The doors within the house all open randomly whether it is locked or not. Yes, the heater was turned on before we arrived but when getting ready for the night the heater stayed stuck on the same setting and wouldn't move. There also were no cleaning supplies as we were trying to clean up our mess from the meal we had prepared( ie. broom/papertowels/etc.recommend for small families

The stay was decent for what I needed but the proprietor needs to make changes before I'd stay there again. On the bright side, beds were comfortable, the inside remained quiet (couldn't tell you were in a big city), and you really got what you paid for (good value), but here is how the proprietor can makes the place better for the next family without much financial investment: 1) fix the miniblinds. All of them are broken in some way, 2) replace the two heavily used blue microfiber 'washcloths' with a few real cotton ones, 3) if you're going to require ‘shoes off’ in the house, then truly clean your wood floors so my socks don't turn black from walking around inside, 4) replace the current curtains (thumbtacked bed sheets in places like BR and kitchen) with real curtains or window covers, 5) correctly attach the thermostat to the wall. The thermostat control unit freely rotates on the wall in the living room, 6) plug in a few air fresheners. The air smells as expected for an old house, which is hard to describe but somewhat unpleasant at first sniff, 6) the front exterior definitely needs a paint job. In summary, if I had a few hundred dollars and a day of dedicated effort, I could transform this place into one of the best rentals in the area. As prior reviewers have suggested, the proprietor needs to up their game if they want to avoid reviews like this in the future. My poor college kid side of me would have been impressed but my older family man side of me says 'yikes'

The place was nice and clean and well prepared for us. Location was within a few blocks of the bus lines and a lot of nice restaurants.

If quiet & cleanliness matter most to you, this is a perfect destination. I've never stayed in this part of SFO and it was safe, quiet, and convenient. Coming from a few hotels for earlier parts of the trip this was blissfully quiet and private. The garage and laundry really sold it for us and were great amenities. The house is spacious but almost empty. None of the furnishings match or go together. Not only is this definitively a rental property it's not trying to be charming or well-appointed. That would be fine except that it was missing some essentials. There were 4 (mismatched and clean, but quite old) bath towels, 2 bathroom hand towels and no washcloths. I asked about the washcloths and the host responded VERY quickly and brought one 1!! over. Unfortunately it was just one and it was clean but worn and just not enough. Similarly it says it sleeps 6-8 but there were only 4 very flimsy pillows - 2 on each bed and no backup linens. As part of the washcloth request I asked about additional pillows and he also brought one over that smelled a little of the garage/basement and just not enough. I want to be fair that I'm guessing this host is a minimalist and might not have a young family, but we needed more than we had. I would beg him to make a $500 investment in a TJ Maxx run to get new, matching, additional linens and pillows. Like I said, the property was a very good one, but without these basics I felt like we overpaid by about 25% for our time there.
