Sundance | Oceanfront + Walk to the Beach!

This was a nice place to stay while we vacationed at the beach this summer. The only issue I had was that the property manager was completely unresponsive to some issues that we had. Once I contacted the owner, the property manager finally responded to my requests and took care of them promptly.

Bathrooms for each of the three main bedrooms was great. On the beach, great view and access.

We walked into the house and someone was there right behind us to do a walk through to make sure the house was clean... that should’ve happened prior to us arriving. The floors were sandy upon arrival , the neighbors had a sound system on their deck with a drum set and other live instruments playing cover songs that we could hear from the beach and in our home loud enough to where our baby couldn’t nap and we had to ask the police to come twice before they stopped playing songs that were in appropriate for my children to listen to. Also... even if it were music we enjoyed... it was so loud and we didn’t have the option to turn it off. We were left with water filled soap dospensers and zero trash bags. I called and texted the property managers without ever reaching anyone.. finally I decided to call and choose the option for making a new reservation and surprise surprise.. they answered right away. So my takeaway is that they want to make money off you but won’t follow through with any customer service. All I got was “aww I’m so sorry about that”. Needless to say, we won’t be booking through them anymore or staying at this home again. It felt like we were an afterthought.

House is cozy, tasteful, very well equipped, and ideally located about 1 1/2 mikes from the pier and the Surf City center. My husband and I, and our three adult children had a wonderful week in this lovely beach house and would happily stay here again on our next vacation in Topsail.

I have stayed in MANY beach houses and condos and enjoyed this one better by far than any other. It was very well equipped and detailed instructions were provided for use of everything. Keep in mind that we like an old-fashioned beachy feel to our vacations so this house is not what I would call luxurious, but it is just what we liked! Had a great relaxed beach feel. Loved the gates on the decks to contain our dog. The double decks were also great. Shade when you needed it and open when you didn't. And being steps away from our back door while on the beach was fantastic! Only 2 things that kept me from giving this five stars: 1) The fact that the interior steps might me hard for some to navigate. We were a group of 6(50ish couple and grown children/in laws) so we had no problem. Young children and older guests might have trouble. 2) We like to spend time on the great decks that I mentioned before, but we would have enjoyed some comfy furniture to relax on. They had good chairs and picnic table on top but some chaises for lounging on bottom deck would have been great! Overall, great house!

We rented this for spring break because the house we really wanted in OBX was already booked. Come to find out it was a blessing in disguise. The location, setup, and views were amazing. Sundance has everything and is dog friendly. I love to cook and typically bring my own knives and cutting board due to me not trusting that there will be sharp knives or a large enough cutting board. I didn't need to bring any of it. The kitchen is well stocked, even with some spices. Pans, steamer, pots, dishes, flatware, and serving trays/bowls are all in good condition. Now for the main reason you should stay here. The location right on the beach and the view. The pictures don't do it justice. We had breakfast on the deck and saw dolphins right off the surf most mornings. Bring your binoculars and camera. Sunrise from the deck was incredible. There are some beach chairs provided and beach toys, umbrella, and body boards that are there to use. We rented this through Topsail Realty. The check-in for first time renters is quick show of ID since everything is done online and email prior to arriving. There was an outlet that didn't work and they send a guy over right away to fix it. Very nice and easy to work with. I couldn't recommend the agency or the house enough - unless you want it the same week we do next year... We didn't want to leave.
