Great stay.

The layout was excellent. There are big cockroaches (we gathered they are bush cockroaches), but they weren't a bother to us unless they popped up out from somewhere unexpectedly and gave you a fright. No Wifi, but that too wasn't a bother for us but if you didn't have data you would be disappointed I guess. The rooms were good, clean enough. The tv was small which didn't suit the awesome layout, but would suffice if your going in and out of the place. Easy to clean, had what we required, the bench/sink layout is awesome, lots of cupboards to stack your own stuff into. Beautiful and peaceful. Awesome decking areas, outside tables & chairs would be good on each deck. Aesthetically pleasant to look at from the outside. Close to town. The outside is well kept. Quite private which is a bonus. Our overall stay was very nice.

This is a fabulous well appointed house in a great location. It is surrounded by bush and a well kept garden and is also a short drive to the centre of Gisborne. We appreciated the modern spacious feel of the home. The kitchen is well equipped, and there were numerous practical touches that made it a great home away from home. We would stay again if we are ever back in Gisborne. The Ormond st cafe and Neighbourhood Pizzeria nearby were both excellent too.

Lovely clean, contemporary light filled home in beautiful setting. But what a shame - thats where it ended. Host had warned us about dishwasher not working - we were fine with that. But oven didn’t work, wifi not working, no 2nd bathroom as advertised, which we needed. 2nd bdrm very hard cheap mattress. Sheets on beds were strange transparent fluffy nylon - lots of static electricity which we decided not to sleep in, so we changed them. Sheets in linen cupboard in VERY POOR condition - threadbare pilled sheets not fit for op shop. We messaged host asking to phone us twice. She didn’t. Message for guests not welcoming - just a list of “don’t dos” (including “don’t take plants or soil out of the garden”?) It’s such a pity, because with a little bit more care it could have been a great experience.

Good stay

Lots of heating; a warm place to stay with great social space and very close to Gisborne and the waterfront.

We had a lovely stay in an amazing house. Was very private and spacious. Will definitely recommend to friends and will book again on our next visit if available. Could have done with some fans as it was quite muggy. We bought some for our stay and gave them to whanau when we left.

Nice place, tidy and close to town.
