Sumter Avenue, Carolina Beach, NC The Family Beach House

This home was perfect for our family getaway! The house was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The pool was definitely a highlight—our kids (and adults!) loved it. We’d absolutely stay here again!

House was clean and met the needs of our family. We enjoyed the pool and owners were very responsive to our questions.

This is our 3rd summer staying here and we look forward to more. It’s the perfect home to relaxin with the pool being the star of the property. Conveniently located to shops, park and beach. We missed the golf cart but we’re close enough to rent one easily. Definitely a home away from home.

We had a fantastic week with our family! The pool and hot tub were absolutely perfect—a great way to relax after exploring the area. The house was spotless and even more spacious than we expected, with plenty of room for everyone. The location was ideal: we walked to the beach and made a short drive into downtown Wilmington for shopping and restaurants. The owners were very responsive and helpful, and the neighborhood felt quiet and safe. We’d definitely stay here again—it was everything we hoped for and more.

The house is a perfect fit for our family of 9 including a dog and 3 kids. Hot tub and pool are great.

The house is in poor condition and repair. There are trash bags and junk in the closets, one of the closets' doors was broken and laying on the wall, the bottom floor smells strongly of mold, the upstairs kitchen is in disrepair, there was a dead roach in one of the upstairs bedrooms, the beds had NO cover---just naked mattresses , there were rusty bikes with flat tires available for guests to enjoy, the area next to the pool was junky and moldy, the laundry area was in disrepair and smelled strongly of mold...I could go on, but I think you get the impression. I will NEVER book with VRBO again. When I tried to report the problem to VRBO, the process was VERY cumbersome. Never again, and I'll tell all my friends. VRBO is terrible.

Pool was unswimable for 2 days because owner was away and doesn’t have a pool man. Had to buy 230 dollars worth of sheets and blankets, they're not provided and doesn't tell you that in description

Our stay was very comfortable and we enjoyed the location. All concerns were addressed and Derek the husband and owner was very professional. The listing had an amenity that was not available and we were not told in advance. Therefore we had no time to explore another accommodation. Amy, the wife and owner was very impatient with talking to me and reminded me over and over again that a fee was not charged. I felt very disrespected as if I’m not clear on contractual terms. I sent a message of thanks and not once replied to with a “you’re welcome “ or “hello”. We loved the home but felt we were not entirely welcomed. Thank you for accepting the reservation.

House was perfect for my entire family! Very spacious, clean, and full of activities for the whole family! Owner was accessible at all times and very responsive at any time of the day. Would definitely recommend this home. I cannot say anything more than WOW what an amazing home.

The house was super clean and had dishes, cleaning products, laundry detergent, everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The pool and spa were fabulous and so pretty at night.Host were super responsive. We had a wonderful time!

Thank you for a fun-filled vacation for our kids and grandkids. Memories were made to last a lifetime! Relaxing by the pool and in the hot tub was the overall huge win for our entire family, especially the grandkids! Though we didn’t take the golf cart out, that was a super gracious amenity. Thank you again!

Great home great time

Shower curtain upstairs was moldy, soap was watered down in dispensers and there were stains on a bed. Needed to text host to turn on hot tub and got eaten alive by mosquitoes the first night. Golf cart fit 5 people so we had to make 2 trips if we didn’t want drive and to pay to park in town. Lots of good restaurants and nice beach.

Overall good just needs a little more tlc but we were all happy. The owner derrickk was very helpful n pleasant

We had a great time at the Sumter Beach House. We had adults, teens and children and everyone had an awesome week. The pool was a tremendous plus, and the place was spacious enough for four family units. The hosts were easily accessible but not invasive. We all agreed we could come back again

The location was nice and quiet. The golf cart was very useful to get around! Our kids enjoyed the pool!

Love at first site. This is a great house. 3 Bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms upstairs and 2 Bedrooms and a full bathroom off of a bedroom downstairs. The house was great for our family plenty of space. The pool and hot tub are amazing. The owner is very fast to respond to texts and willing to listen to any concerns. The golf cart is a great bonus as you can drive that to the beach access and park for free. Anyone will love this house. Pack your sheets and blankets the house has plenty of towels. If you need to do laundry the washer and dryer are great. You are centrally located. Go to Carolina Beach, Kure beach, Fort Fisher, the aquarium, and take the ferry to Southport that makes a great day trip and it's only $7.00 per car load. Great trip came home very relaxed.

This is our 2nd time staying here. We lucked into a cancellation last year and fell in love with the area and house! The house has space to spread out and is very nice, however the outside area is the star! An amazing pool with plenty of space. Convenient location and our teen grandkids loved riding bikes in the neighborhood and park. Close to town and the beaches. Great communication with the host/ management team. We will definitely be back!!

The property was nice and the pool was excellent.

Plenty of room for everyone. Golf cart was very convenient for zipping to the beach, pizza place, and ice cream. Pool was a great plus for hanging out while grilling dinner in the fenced in back yard.
