Stayed Nov 7, 2025We stayed at Sugar Creek Retreat the first weekend of November for Western Carolina Homecoming weekend. Had 9 people in our group and there was plenty of room for everyone and the kitchen and home was extremely well appointed. We would absolutely stay here again for either Homecoming or Graduation weekend!

Stayed Jun 28, 2025We wanted a cooler spot to stay and do some hiking. The ad shows pictures of lovely trails and talks about the trails on the property. Those trails are impassable with knee high poison ivy. So the 8 mile curvy drive just added distance to getting to hikes. The house is lovely but for our purposes, overpriced due to the location.

Stayed Nov 26, 2024We bring Thanksgiving to our college students each year. The whole family thoroughly enjoyed this home. Just modern enough and updated, but cozy. Screened porches are great, hot tub was lovely on cold nights, so much charm and more privacy than expected. This was a great home with our dogs. The driveway to the property was easy without it being too steep like other homes. We do a lot of cooking when we rent. If you do also…bring all your consumables with you. I say this because some cabins have spices, detergent, coffee, kleenexes, etc. You’ll need to pack them here. Our holiday was wonderful in this home! Thanks for sharing it!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Did not want to leave this slice of heaven! Beautiful and stylishly decorated home, in a quiet forest surrounding, with unbelievable mountain views and amenities. It was a pleasure making meals in the FULLY equipped kitchen including coffee! The house was decorated tastefully with everything we needed to set a fancy dinner table to invite guests. Nature trails to the river occupied our daytime hours, relaxing in the swing, afterwards. Two screened porches were perfect for afternoon board games, borrowed from back bedroom. The dedicated outdoor gas grill area, by the brook, made one evening an adventure. After picnic table dining, we stepped over to the wildlife firepit and nestled into the Adirondacks. How nice to hear the owls and other nature sounds. Loved the pretty glass fire table and comfy sofas, in the backyard, but our favorite spot was the hot tub lounger! Owners thought of everything from necessities to niceties. Next time, two weeks!
