Comfortably accomodating two to seven people, this spacious 4-bedroom art-deco styled town house was originally part of a 16th Century library and has since been renovated to an extremely high standard by award winning 'Puglia Estates' as seen on Grand Designs. The apartment spans back from a grand entrance and stair-case to reveal room upon room of living space. The modern kitchen is fully equipped with 5-burner gas stove, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer However, the real heartof the cooking/eating area is the original kitchen where once wood burning stoves were located and which leads out onto a beautiful dining terrace for enjoying breakfast or an evening bottle of wine al-fresco. The townhouse consists of a large lounge, 3 double bedrooms (two en-suite) mean you don't have to struggle with sofa-beds and a large spectacular roof terrace combined with two further private terraces allow a variety of sunbathing options. The apartment has aircon in every room.

Additional information: As with many old properties in Italy, there are lots of steep marble stairs between floors (the ceilings are very high and the house spans over 3 floors), and very high roof terraces with waist high walls. As a result, the apartment may be unsuitable for people of reduced/impaired mobility or young children (under 10). It is the guests' responsibility to ensure the safety of their children. Having said this, the apartment is full of character and original features, and the high terraces afford spectacular views of Galatina and the surrounding area. Smokers are welcome, but we do request that guests only smoke outdoors on the roof terraces.

You will be met at the house with the keys and shown around by someone who has lived in the area for a few years. This allows us to impart some very local knowledge such as the best places to eat, or the nicest beach to get your suntan.

The property is spacious, clean, comfortable and has a lively decor of art, books, couches, a beautiful farm house table and a well functioning kitchen to cook meals in. Our only suggestion would be to turn in the heat 10 -20 hours before guests arrive if it’s winter or early spring. Christiano met us at arrive and was great with communication, but the European washer was a challenge for us, so written instruction would be helpful if for future travelers who are packing light. Wonderful town with a stunning church, plazas, cafes etc. we loved to taking the bus to Lecce and Gallipoli. I would love to come back and recommend this rental. A car would be a benefit, but if you are looking for a quiet week of rest and relaxation, this is the place for you!

Beautiful stay in this fantastic house. The photos don't do it justice. Galatina is perfectly located to visit all of Salento. Thank you Christiano!

My family stayed in this delightful property for 3 nights while we explored the Salento area of Puglia. It was my sons 21st birthday while we were there so we wanted to stay somewhere special; Toto House was perfect. We were unlucky with the weather while we were there so we were unable to use the gorgeous looking outside areas, but we were more than happy to eat in the old kitchen and relax together in the massive living room. The property is so beautifully furnished and decorated. The beds, so comfy - I had the best nights sleep there that I have had in a very long time. The location, in the fabulous old town of Galatina, is ideal. Literally 2 minute walk from the main piazza and numerous restaurants. I would not hesitate to stay here again, and I will definitely be recommending it to friends.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this large home right in the middle of the the historic area. We did not use all of the areas but appreciated the beauty of this home with lovely tiled floors and traditional architecture. We counted 5 balconies! So much to explore in this home and the center of Galatina!

The property was as described and a good value for the price. There are a lot of stairs to access the main floor and most of the bedrooms, and they are very cut off from one another - so if you are traveling with kids, they would have to be fairly independent. The kitchen has everything you need and there is a bonus kitchen on the deck which we were not able to use because of the heat. It would be a lot of fun up there in cooler weather! The papers left by the owner have a lot of good info about the area and we put those to good use. One thing that would improve the experience is better lighting, it is fairly dim everywhere and sometimes there were just no lightbulbs or the lights/fans would go on/off/flicker. Overall, good location, would recommend!

Due to family circumstances we only stayed two days in this stylish house with its marble stairs, its spacious living room and cosy terraces, in the old center of Galatina, but if we go back to this part of Italy, we will absolutely return to this gorgious house!

We had a lovely stay in Galatina. The house is gorgeous, located in the historical centre. Beautifully designed with a lovely roof terrace and perfect little terrace by the kitchen where we had breakfast every morning. Cristiano arranged for us to check in earlier which was much appreciated. We fell in love with Galatina and were sad to leave. It's a lovely friendly town with some great restaurants, also a good base for day trips to Lecce, gallipoli, Otranto, the beaches etc. Having such a beautiful place to come home to each day made our holiday very special. I would highly recommend staying here. We hope to come back and stay again.

This is the best place to stay in Galatina by far. You have plenty of space, very tasteful interior, a roof top terrace and all appliances needed. In a very central location and reasonably priced. Highly recommended!
