You will enjoy this century old recently renovated duplex on Oak Street, in the Uptown/South Carrollton neighborhood, within walking distance of Streetcar, restaurants, bars, grocery, Tulane University, Loyola University, Audubon Park, Audubon Zoo, St. Charles Street, and Mississippi River.

This duplex was renovated in 2019. Includes fully renovated bathrooms and kitchen with granite countertop and stainless steel appliances. The historical charm of house with its 11' high ceilings, laminate and hardwood flooring, old mantels, and crown moldings are evident throughout. Separate modern central air-conditioning and heating units are dedicated to each floor.

Uptown/Carrollton is a laid-back residential area known for its oak trees and landmark restaurants like the late-night Camellia Grill and the iconic Jacque-Imo’s, serving Creole cuisine. Venerable live music venues include the Maple Leaf Bar, for brass bands, bayou tunes and dancing.     This was our 7th month-long Spring rental in Uptown over the past 9 years, and it was our favorite of them all. We love this place. The location is very close to the street car, and to lots of wonderful restaurants, bars, coffee shops and grocery stores (a small one being 1 block away). The home itself has been meticulously maintained by the owners. All rooms are spacious and well appointed. The back deck is inviting, with very comfortable furniture, a firepit, a grill, and beautiful outdoor lighting. It is a gem.

    Great stay at a lovely house in a great neighbourhood. Close to street car, grocery store and bank, iconic Maple Leaf Bar and Jacques IMO’s. Also Camilla Grill and Cooter Browns. Also close to the Audubon Golf Course. Can’t get any better than that!

    This was easily one of the top two or three VRBO experiences we have had. The house was extremely well equipped, clean, and well-maintained. The host was responsive and clearly focused on ensuring our satisfaction.

    Great house in a great neighborhood. Lots of places to walk to including grocery on the corner and restaurants on Oak and Maple Streets.
