Sitting on this beautiful bluff you will not find steps to a beach, but just a 10 minute walk to Mill Beach or a short ride away you will fall in love with Harris State Beach for beachcombing, hiking and more. You can also head to the Port of Brookings/Harbor to book a fishing charter for Ocean fishing or fresh water fishing up the Chetco River which is a world class salmon fishing river. Brookings Harbor is a boating safe harbor with excellent crabbing as well. Salmon Run Golf Course is less than 5 miles away. Don't forget that the giant Sequoia redwoods are close by too! Whale watching, sea and river fishing excursions are available locally and thrilling jet boat rides run on the Rogue River in nearby Gold Beach only 30 minutes away. The huge old fashioned 4th of July fireworks display over the harbor is awesome! There are excellent seafood restaurants and fresh seafood markets. Take your catch back to grill out on the BBQ. A variety of interesting shops, art galleries and antique shops to explore. The local open air farmer's market is fun and available Wed and Sat.
