Stayed Aug 3, 2025This home was perfect for our 3 families with a nicely appointed bathroom for each bedroom. The home was clean and ready a little before 4pm for check in at the guard house. Great beds, sheets and towels. Huge island with stools and large table to seat everyone. The only issue we had was the thermostat programming. No matter where we set the temp, it would revert to the programmed temperatures. Downstairs got too warm at night and we learned to stay up past midnight to lower it and someone always got up before dawn to lower it again as it would warm back up. The upstairs was set for AC at 50 degrees during the day! We could only override it for a couple hours at a time. When we left for the day we came home to a 50 degree house. Also would’ve appreciated a broom as the porch was pretty dirty from leaves and previous guests. We received no check out instructions other than a note on the fridge about the trash so we returned our key to the guard house. We had fun watching the deer in the evenings. All in all it is a really great house and we look forward to returning to Hound Ears and Pecky Vista.

Stayed Sep 18, 2024Beautiful, comfortable, spacious, clean home. Great view of the Blue Ridge mountains. We loved the open, spacious design. Home had everything we needed to enjoy the week. One of the best features is each of the 4 bedrooms has its own bath. Definitely recommend this home for large families and groups. Just be aware that the drive up is steep and twisty. But you are in the mountains so you should expect that. Not a problem as long as you take it nice and slow.

Stayed Sep 6, 2024I loved the setting for this mountain house. Great view of the surrounding mountains. Loved the creatures that would pay a visit including ground hogs, deer, and turkey. I would stay here again.

Stayed Aug 28, 2024The house was nice, but there were blood stains on the sheets, and the coffee maker quit working, and they brought us a substitute coffee maker that was inferior and did not work well. Great location

Stayed Aug 23, 2024This was a great house for our large family that stayed. There was 11 people total. 5 kids 10 and under. And 6 adults. Sleeping was no issue and cooking a big meal in the kitchen was a breeze. Great views of the mountains and great location into Boone and Blowing Rock. Would definitely recommend.

Stayed Jul 12, 2024Beautiful home. Perfect for our group of 8. Gorgeous bathrooms. Very comfortable beds. Two great living rooms. Dual zone thermostats were great. Large kitchen. Great porch outside. Absolutely fabulous. Will stay here again. Photos online used a filter that make the house look brighter. In reality it was much darker inside, but this is only a minor issue.

Stayed Jun 13, 2024My family of 8 enjoyed a wonderful time at Pecky Vista! It is a very nice home with lots of space and a fun game room on the bottom floor. Bathrooms are beautiful and spacious, too. If you decide to stay here just be aware of taking Cherry to Chestnut to Hickory, as these roads aren't quite as steep. After traveling up and down a few times it wasn't as bad. Be sure to put your car in low gear going up the mountain.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Hello! Thank you so much for hosting us at Pecky Vista. We loved the house and it was a perfect spot located close to Boone and Blowing Rock. The house itself is great, updated, had everything we needed plus we had an amazing view off the back deck. Highly recommend to stay at this home with friends and/or family. We will definitely be back and thank you again for hosting us on our weekend getaway!
