A local landmark with nearly two centuries of history, the lovely Norwood Curtis House provides a unique and charming setting for experiencing the beauties of Camden. Stroll to wonderful restaurants and shops in the heart of town, catch sunrises and sunsets at the picturesque harbor, and listen to the sounds of music wafting up from the amphitheater in summer.

This two-story home dates back to 1846, nestled within the High Street Historic District of beautiful downtown Camden. Once thehome and workplace of Pulitzer Prize-winning author Richard Russo ('Empire Falls'), the property now sits adjacent to the grounds of the town's library and amphitheater. When you're not exploring on foot, you'll be perfectly placed to visit Camden Hills State Park, Camden Snow Bowl, Rockport, and Rockland - all within eight miles.

The house has been thoughtfully furnished with relaxation in mind. Original details - including built-in cabinetry in the dining room - are interspersed with such modern comforts as new kitchen appliances (including an induction range that's great for lobster pots), spacious bedrooms overlooking Mt. Battie, and a home office with high-speed WiFi.

When you're looking to unwind, take your pick of three enclosed porches - one where you can sip your morning coffee with a view of the street, a second that serves as both the home office and a sitting area, and a third upstairs that acts as an additional sleeping space overlooking the yard. Between these and the living room, the large dining room, the kitchen, and the outdoor deck (with a gas grill) draped in vines, you'll have ample space to gather with loved ones.

At night, find one bedroom - along with a wonderful collection of books - on the first floor. There are three more bedrooms upstairs in addition to the window-lined sleeping porch, which is accessed through the primary bedroom.

This house is pure heaven.it has everything you could ever need in this house. It is decorated beautifully. The best part of this house is you will see the most beautiful sunsets and sunrise. I wish we had been there more than 3 days. We will be back.

The location is perfect! We were in a beautiful, peaceful neighborhood on Boothbay. We enjoyed views from the windows all around the house. The house's interior is very comfortable and tastefully decorated to reflect the charm of the area. We had a few concerns, which we reported, but which were not addressed while we were still there. If not for those concerns, we would give this home a 5. We would definitely return in the future.

We loved spending the week in this beautifully appointed house with plenty of room for everyone. Being right on the ocean offered views, tranquility and fun on the rocks for everyone. Ocean Point is a wonderful community that offers that small neighborhood feel with lots of activities close by to interest all ages.

Situated at the end of Ocean Point, this house has fantastic views and is so close to the ocean that we could hear the rhythmic sound of the surf all night long. The house is also extremely tastefully designed throughout, making it seem much more like a dream home than a holiday cottage. Overall, it's one of the nicest places we've stayed, and we hope to be able to return for another visit.

We loved this place. Even better in person than the pictures. Gorgeous setting on Ocean Point in a quiet neighborhood. Very nicely appointed, it meets all your needs and when the thermostat acted up the property manager was quick to respond and provide space heaters until hvac could come the next morning. We highly recommend and will stay here again.

This was our second visit to this house. I asked everyone where they wanted to go, and they overwhelmingly wanted this house! It has two excellent bathrooms and three comfortable bedrooms. There is no AC but there is a reliable ocean breeze. You are far from it all but close enough to stores and restaurants. It’s hard to find a better view in the area. The interior is very nicely appointed and it has a beautiful kitchen which is perfect for family cooking. There are spaces for games and dining. There is even a separate building perfect for teens, toddlers or cranky adults lol We will be back!

I cannot say enough about our experience in this beautiful home and in the welcoming community of Ocean Point. Not only is this the most beautiful place and scenery we have ever seen it also was in a great location - far enough away from the bustle of town but close enough to enjoy it too! The house was perfect for 2 families and had everything we needed. It really felt like a home away from home. We will definitely be back!

We have stayed in this house for a few years, and have become quite attached to it, and the location. We were concerned after the 2024 winter storm how the house would fare, and were gratified to discover that it survived very well, with everything intact except some of the exterior stone wall. It is such a user-friendly house...it has great bones. That being said it needs some TLC: the deck and deck chairs are beaten up,slowly falling apart, and some window screens have holes. The overall exterior could use upkeep. The view is gorgeous, the house is so comfortable and we will continue to come....especially during low season when it is so quiet. I just hope that the owner and staff can find the time to provide the necessary upkeep to the exterior. Then it would be 5 stars!

Great place for kids to play on rocks. Location was secluded from tourists. Freezer didn't work, but had travel cooler and made it work. Some high-school kids showed up for several hours horsing around near the public parking spots, but nobody got hurt and eventually left. We noticed many people had the exterior house lights on during this period, but all went off when they left. Interior is stunning. House was inspirational for a beach home. Overall, a bit pricey but feel we overspend on a lot so it's our own doing. Glad to have rented this place and probably will do it again.
