Straitsmouth Cove: Oceanfront Rockport Grandeur

We had a fabulous stay. The house was terrifically appointed, more bowls, cutting boards, etc than we could ever use--and we did a lot of cooking. Plenty of space inside and out--property managers we SO helpful. If family gathers again in Rockport we will definitely come again. High Recommendation!

Family and friends rented the house together to attend a wedding at the Hotel Beauport. The house was lovely and every morning we woke to the most beautiful sunrises over the ocean. There are great paths that are public to walk around the ocean - downtown Rockport is a short walk from the house. Everything worked properly in the house and all the rooms were lovely.

The home was clean, comfortable and had a good amount of space. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, cookware and appliances. Unfortunately, the owners were in the middle of doing some work on the house and the rec room listed for the property, with a ping pong table, TV and seating, was filled with cedar shingles and unusable. This was a big disappointment since we felt like we did not get what we were told was part of the property rental. It is no longer included in the listing. There are also some updates that need to be done to make the porch usable.All in all we had a wonderful time and I would recommend this property to others with improvements made to the screened porch.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family absolutely hated this place, could not wait to leave. It reeked of low tide and dead fish, don’t even think of renting it. (I want it available for our return!) The only thing we actually found lacking was dish towels (more than 2 please) and lobster crackers and picks. The house is spacious and charming (it pains me to see the charm and New England fishing village updated away in Rockport homes). I thought there wasn’t much kitchen storage space based on the pictures so I was happy to see that the door next to the fridge was a pantry, not steps to the basement as I thought. With different family members getting together for the stay, all the room was great for social distance!
