Storybook Beach House 2 blocks from the Beach or Mission Bay with Pool & Hot tub

Ryan Michaels is a great host and very responsive to any questions. The amazing house is well suited to a large family group…we had 12 in our family, including 2 small children.The beds are comfortable, and the house is well maintained.The kitchen is well stocked for our large group’s cooking and enjoyment.There is plenty of indoor and outdoor dining for large groups.Everyone enjoyed the pool and outdoor patio relaxation…some enjoyed the hot tub with beautiful view of ocean.It’s a 10 minute easy walk to either the ocean or Mission Bay with so many amenities available…shopping and restaurants.Also, close drive to Seaworld and zoo.I would highly recommend The Story Book house for any large family group gathering!

The location was great with an easy walk to the beach and restaurants. Our kids loved the pool and hot tub. There was plenty of room for our family to spread out. We had a great time.

Our family of 10 visited the Storybook Beach House for our annual vacation. My wife and me, our three sons and their wives, and two grandchildren.The location cannot be beat: the neighborhood is clean and quiet*; beach is a 5 min walk; grocery stores within walking distance; a nearby park; 20 min to the airport, Sea World, and the Zoo. We've stayed in the area previously, but this property is BY FAR the best we've stayed at.The layout, amenities, pool table, pool, hot tub, and fully stocked kitchen made our visit nearly perfect.To top it off, the host (Ryan) was very easy to work with and is a very accommodating host. Super to work with.We WILL be back.*The after midnight revelry of partiers returning from the beach nightclubs was a bit loud on Friday night which necessitated keeping the windows closed. That said, this fact will not keep us from returning.

Our host was AMAZING! He took great care of us down to bringing us over a wrench to fix our mom's wheelchair. This house was amazing and so full of charm. It is SO close to everything. I would HIGHLY recommend this VRBO to anyone!!!!!!

We stayed here for a week with two other families with young kids. The house had a great combination of communal and individual space so we could all hang out and but separate as needed for nap time etc. The sound proofing was excellent so even with the occasional melt down or early wakeup, no one else was bothered. The kitchen had ample prep space to accomodate the needs of three families, and was appointed with sippy cups, smalls plates--all the things toddlers need. The pool was perfect for the kids and the hot tub a welcome treat for the adults. We very much appreciated all the beach toys and the wagons were possibly the highlight of the trip! The location was also fantastic: we could walk to the beach, grocery stores, a bunch of local restaurants and too many ice cream stores! Working with Ryan was also very easy. He was very responsive, he worked with us for early check-in and bag drop off, and was responsive to any concern. Would definitely recommend this house to other families!

Fun stay, close to the beach but far enough away from the noise. Good place for families with children. The small pool was a big hit with our 4 and 7 year old grandchildren.

We had a wonderful time with our kids and grandkids! Plenty of room! Kids loved the pool! You cannot beat the location. Ryan is very responsive to any questions or issues.

Great Storybook house! Our family of 8 adults, 4 kiddos, and a baby had all we needed including heated pool, easy and quick access to the beach, grocery store, coffee shops, restaurants, and shopping. Communication with Ryan was excellent!

We loved the charm of the house and how big it was. The pool was a perfect size for the kids and rooftop hot tub was a bonus. The owner was very attentive and helpful. We will be back!

Everything about this place is special. The listing pictures don’t do it justice! We all absolutely loved it. Excellent location to everything. Two blocks from beach - just can’t even beat that. It’s an incredibly unique property and of all the rentals I’ve done - it’s it is top 2. Ryan is super accessible and replies right away. You will not be disappointed- I loved everything about it!!!

Ryan was very responsive and accommodating. The house is adorable with lots of charm and is conveniently located a short walk from the beach and a lot do eateries. While the house has a lot do amenities, there were a few things that would probably keep us from renting again. Several of the beds are a bit uncomfortable given the priced we paid. The other issue is that we were charged a 500 cleaning fee, but were expected to clean the kitchen before checking out. We are now

If your looking for an idealic stay in San Diego with easy access to the beach or Mission Bay, then look no further. The Storybook House pictures accurately represent what you'll experience with plenty of comfortable beds and linens for our 9 adults and 2 children. This clean, charming home is well maintained by its owner/host who lives adjacent, cares about your rental experience and will quickly help resolve any issues that may arise. The kids pool, hot tub and pool table were all big hits and the availability of bikes and beach accessories was also appreciated. This will definitely be the place we chose to stay in the next time we visit San Diego.

This home is very conveniently located walking distance to beach, back bay, grocery store and many restaurants/bars in PB. The house is well equipped, spacious and provides a great atmosphere for socializing in small and large groups. We enjoyed the rooftop spa and great sunsets from the roof deck.Ryan is terrific to communicate with and very accommodating. We also enjoyed the 6 beach cruisers to experience the beach boardwalk. I’d definitely stay again.

Excellent property and host

This house was great and worked perfectly for my family of 10. The neighborhood was lovely and within walking distance of everything we wanted to do. My family took full advantage of the bicycles as well as the pool and hot tub. The owner/manager was right next door and available whenever we had a question or needed anything. I would highly recommend this home.

Beautiful historic home

This is the perfect home for a large group. We had 10 adults and there was plenty of rooms, bathrooms, and spaces to socialize. Sitting in/around the pool was wonderful during the day and the rooftop deck and hot tub was amazing at night. The pool table was also a lot of fun. It was a short easy walk down to the beach or bay with lots of eating choices and the grocery store within walking distance. There were 6 bikes, wagons, beach chairs, boogie boards, and sand toys there for our use as well as plenty of beach towels. The 2 parking spaces provided was so convenient since the street remains very full during the weekend. Ryan, the host, was very responsive and kind. I would definitely stay at the Storybook House again for a group gathering.

We enjoyed our time in Pacific Beach. Lots to do.

Family and I had a great time. House is awesome and location is wonderful. Pool worked out perfectly for the kids (ages 7 months to 6 years).

Great place to stay near the beach!

The location of the house was absolutely fabulous! It was an old English Tudor-style house that I loved. The grandkids, on the other hand, thought it was just old, but they loved the pool and the hot tub on the rooftop! It was easily walkable to the beach and restaurants. The host, was nice and available when needed. We had a great time there!

Adorable home with plenty of space for our intergenerational family vacation that sits on a quiet street just blocks from the beach and shops. We particularly loved the perfect outdoor patio for relaxing, eating and hopping in the pool.

We love this house so much, it was our second time staying. The location is perfect and the charm of this house is everything. The backyard is surrounded by lush plants and is the perfect hangout after a long morning at the beach. Will be back again next year!

We had a wonderful stay at Storybook Beach House. We were with my small family and a friend. We have extended family in the area who came by to visit and we had a small graduation party. Ryan was so friendly and we really appreciated being able to celebrate my daughter’s graduation with friends and family away from home. The house is lovely and relaxing. We wish we could have stayed longer.

The location was amazing close to whatever was needed. Especially the beach, stores, and grocery etc.

The house was amazing. It was old but clean. We had 1 issue with the house and Ryan responded very quickly. I highly recommend it for a family get together.

Our daughter graduated from USD and we stayed at this beautiful story book home! It was the perfect home with so much character and charm. Ryan was an amazing host, very attentive with quick responses. Would recommend this home for sure!!

The house was spacious with plenty of amenities for our guests of all ages (4-66!) to enjoy. We especially liked the large kitchen and the outdoor patio area with small pool. The beach is truly just a couple blocks away and was an easy walk, even with small kids in tow. Lots of places to get groceries or eat out nearby. We would stay here again!

Our stay at this property was amazing.The house is very well decorated and super charming inside and out. The owner is very nice and responsive. We had a wonderful time with our extended family and small children. Rooftop jacuzzi was wonderful!

Three generations including four children 7 years and under stayed together. The house accommodated all of us in comfort. The kitchen was well equipped allowing us to cook substantive meals. The bedrooms were well furnished and the three and a half baths were very convenient. The living and dining areas were pleasant with some interesting decorative touches. The pool is not deep but perfect for our group and the rooftop hot tub was a nightly attraction. The garden area was attractive with a large border of Birds of Paradise plants. The house was clean and fully ready for us to enjoy.Ryan was an excellent host and always responded quickly and helpfully. I would highly recommend this lovely old house for any larger group.

Amazing house, amenities, and location!

Ryan was a wonderful host—very prompt with responses and helpful with questions. The home has old storybook charm, which didn't impact the stay but rather enhanced the experience. The location, with its proximity to the beach, shops, restaurants, and grocery store, was perfect and easily walkable. The rooftop hot tub provided a great area to relax and watch the sunset. The location was perfect for easily visiting areas in and around San Diego.

The space is gorgeous, the location is perfect, and the host is the best I've ever stayed with. If you have the chance to stay here, jump at it. We will definitely be back!

Our family celebrated my husband's 90th birthday at the Storybook Beach House and it could not have been more perfect. The house was fabulous, fun and in the perfect location for all of us to walk to the beach, grocery store and wonderful restaurants. The owner of the house was extremely accommodating, helpful, and thoughtful. The house was charming, intriguing and very well supplied with everything we needed. All-in-all the perfect house for us. This was a great place to bring together our children, their partners and our grandchild for a week. There was lots of room for everyone to find their own space or to gather for meals, conversation or a pool game. The small swimming pool was a big hit with the grandkids. There were many retail and grocery stores nearby as well as restaurants, bars and ice cream stores. And the beach was just a short walk with amazing sunsets that the whole family enjoyed. Highly recommended.

This is the perfect place to stay with grandparents, children and grandchildren. Walkability to the beach, grocery and restaurants was fantastic. The young adults loved the hot tub and pool table and our granddaughter loved the pool. Ryan is an exceptional host and answered all of our questions and helped us feel comfortable and at home. ( Including a new puzzle when we told him how we love to do puzzles on vacation!) We wanted to comment on the heat as someone had mentioned it in a previous review. It was in the low 60s during the day and low 50s at night and the heater in the front room sufficiently heated the whole house and there were tons of extra blankets. It was very comfortable and the five bedrooms allowed us to spread out and be together but still have space. We had a fabulous two week holiday that was simply magical.

This house is perfect for families. Great location and Ryan is amazing.

Host very responsive, friendly. Location perfect. Easy walk to beach, boardwalk, stores, restaurants. House well furnished. Kitchen had everything. Nice patio, bikes, sand chairs. We were there early November and although the house said it was heated, only the first floor living room had heat. The bedrooms were cold. No extra blankets and we were cold.

We loved this house. It had so much character and was perfect for our group. Great kitchen, wonderful backyard and even a hot tub on the roof. Would come back!

Great Place to stay and if you are lucky you get welcomed by the parrot with a hearty hello as you walk through the gate!! Would recommend to everyone.

We had a wonderful stress free long weekend recharge. Two families with plenty of room. We were able to cook, grill, relax and chill. Kitchen was great. Billiards table and big dining room table made it easy for us to gather and visit and eat. Loved the sunsets from the hot tub. Appreciated the ready to use wagons, bikes, beach towels and sand shovels. Backyard pool was also a great place to soak and visit. Best thing was location in a quiet beautiful old neighborhood but only two blocks from the beach and three blocks from the bay. Host was very helpful when needed.
