Stayed Aug 20, 2025This is our third visit. We love staying here. There was a fire in the area (the Flat fire) during our stay and the host made sure we had the information we needed to be aware of what was happening and to stay safe. I appreciated her staying in touch and checking in.

Stayed Jul 6, 2025Great location for exploring Central Oregon and Sisters. We would have given it 5 stars if the tv would have been more user friendly which, I believe, is being rectified. We used both bbq’s and ate most breakfasts and dinners there so appreciated the full service kitchen and enjoyed comfortable bedrooms.

Stayed Jun 30, 2025This is a very nice house in Tollgate community. If you like log-cabin theme and log furniture then this is the place for you.Many things were top notch, such as mattress quality, sheets quality, and all appliances.There were a few missing items such as no scissors or BBQ cleaning brush. Also, as can be expected in a VRBO rental, some heavy-use items were past the point of needing to be repaired or replaced, such as one couch's springs, bicycles, and ping pong paddles. Don't expect super cool air conditioning on a hot day.A house with logs for walls, by its nature, will have low insulation. One wonders if this justifies the homeowner limiting the air condition setting remotely to 73 degrees downstairs, which was the situation we encountered for our first two evenings. This meant that temps in the low 90s outside resulted in the upstairs being a minimum of 76 degrees in the evening for getting to sleep. Several communications with the homeowners eventually resulted in them allowing the minimum A/C setting to be 69 degrees for the first floor of the house.The Tollgate shared facility has a very nice pool area (no hot tub though), along with nice courts for pickle ball, basketball, park, etc.All in all, staying in this house was a nice experience. Just be advised that it may be better to visit the house during mild times of the year for temperatures due to the home's low insulation values in the walls.

It’s an easy stay for our family—a short drive to town or outdoor activities, pool, tennis courts, huge table where we gather for for meals, big yard for playing, and comfortable porches for relaxing. Our first choice for our yearly vacation to Sisters.
