The house is located very close to both entrances to the national park yet secluded enough to enjoy a very private & romantic get away. There's a fire pit in the back yard with fire wood provided for a fee. Any questions are more than welcome & we are happy to share with you our local recommendations for places to eat or visit. The 4ft by 4ft skylight above the bed for stargazing seems to be a favourite of renters.

Despite what the owner responded to the February reviewer he does not have his act together. We rented Stargazer's Cabin for three nights and when I didn't hear from the owner regarding check-in info I sent him an email the day before that he did not respond to....EVER! I also tried to call him but the call to Malaysia did not go through. We drove to the cabin (after the scheduled check-in time) thinking maybe there was info there to help us check-in. A sign was posted on the outside with the name of the property manager and his number. I called twice back to back and sent him a text but received no reply from him either. We were extremely tired from driving from Tucson and hiking during the afternoon and we are almost in our 70's. We were also angry and frustrated. We booked at the Holiday Inn and stayed there all three nights at a huge expense to us. We've still NEVER heard anything from the owner or the manager. I spoke with a VRBO rep that night and she has turned the info over to try to get us a refund. Hopefully we will get that refund but who is paying the $370 difference between the Holiday Inn ($760 total) and the VRBO? Hopefully this will keep someone else from booking this place.

Overall a good experience but a few red flags. The good: Nice, clean, small cabin in a quiet area, about 15mins outside of the park. Bed was comfortable, cute kitchen and living room, and great bathroom. The not so good: The host never gave us check-in instructions, so we were locked out when we arrived. After many phone calls, we reached someone who gave us the key box code. Not the biggest deal ever, but we almost had to stay in a hotel for the night. The host never answered any of my messages about WiFi, key box code, clean up instructions. So, communication was nonexistent, sadly. There was also no soap in the shower, little soap in the kitchen, and just some small essentials missing from the property. Again, nothing big, but things we had to go purchase ourselves. Other than that, a good stay for the price!
