9 min east of Downtown Joshua Tree and 18 min equidistant between the main West Entrance and the less crowded North Entrance to Joshua Tree National Park.

Fully renovated house w/ brand new appliances, AC/Heating, floors, etc<br>
The space:
This newly-renovated and remodeled two bedroom two bath house has all the modern amenities and playful outdoor spaces you could ask for during your stay.

Spend time gazing out at your own private views of Copper Mountain and into the remote desert on our large deck with in-ground hot tub and dipping pool. Relax under dappled sunlight and eucalyptus trees in the hammock forest. Get bendy on the yoga deck. Cook a feast and share it with friends and family on the large outdoor dining table. Snap some pics in the bathtubs in the desert (available seasonally for soaking and cold water only). Build a fire in the outdoor fire pit, get toasty, roast some marshmallows, stare at the stars, and have some deep talks ‘til the wee hours!

Daybed that converts into the size of a queen bed
Smart TV with access to all streaming apps
Bluetooth sound bar
Mini-split AC/heating units
Original indoor wood burning fireplace
Large dining table that doubles perfectly as a work space
Modern kitchen with a full fridge, a gas stove/oven, dishwasher, and everything you need to make fantastic meals

Native plants throughout the property: desert pine, eucalyptus, and palm trees; our beautiful ocotillo; a still-growing Joshua Tree planted by the original owner in 1985.

Other things to note:
One towel, hand towel, wash cloth, makeup towel, and pool towel provided per guest. Some trash bags, dish soap, detergent, paper towels, and toilet paper have been provided. For more, please visit one of our local markets.

NO SMOKING in the house. Please mind your butts.

Pets: Pre-screened pets are welcome for an additional $35 fee. They must be house-trained and stay off furniture, and out of the outdoor water features.

Road Conditions: The road in off the highway is a quick 1-2 minute drive on dirt. A four wheel drive car is not required, but note that roads will often have dumps and ruts, particularly after it rains. Please take it slow and don't veer too far off the packed dirt and you'll be fine!

Events & Commercial Photoshoots: Not permitted without prior approval, applicable permit and additional fees.

THE DESERT IS WILD!
The remote desert is home to coyotes, spiders, scorpions, wild dogs, snakes, and lots of pokey cacti! You will be fine, just use common sense and be careful.

It's very difficult to keep every bug out, especially if doors/windows are left open or it's been very hot lately. I recommend relying on AC/fans when it's hot because of this.

Temperature and weather extremes are common; including high winds, dust storms, occasional flash floods, and temperatures ranging from the 30s past the 100s Fahrenheit. Also since we are in California, wildfires and earthquakes can happen! Please prepare, plan, dress, hydrate, apply sunscreen, and supervise children, pets, and loved ones accordingly.

** Guests use hot tub, pool, and other amenities at their own risk. Host is not liable for any injuries or damage done. By booking, you are acknowledging this. **

Guest access:
The entire 5 acre property is yours during your stay!

The host communicated well about the room/ stay. The house was clean and dog friendly. My boyfriend and I brought our dogs to stay and although the property itself was not enclosed, it was a large enough space where they could easily run around. The property was secluded enough to be peaceful while at the house. The house was very close to Joshua tree national park which is why we chose to stay there. It’s also close to pioneer town which we decided last minute to make a pit stop since we were close.

The property was beautiful. A 4 week drive car should be recommended, the dirt roads to the property can get sandy and a tow costs quite a bit.

Has all the needed amenities and more. Peaceful and quiet, close to JT National Park. We brought the dog, I will not in the future and wouldn’t recommend due to the heat, the ground is, too hot to bring fur creatures anywhere. I would recommend the stay :)

This property was perfect for our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children under 11). Our children stayed comfortably in the primary bedroom and my husband and I took the second bedroom/bathroom. The kitchen was well equipped and everything was clean. We had a great time stargazing in the backyard, having fires in the fire pit, and exploring Joshua Tree National park. The plunge pool and spa were an added treat. I also loved how off the beaten path the property felt, but how near it was to the necessities like grocery stores, etc. I would definitely recommend this property to other families looking for fun in the desert!

What a fun and unique property. The location was great for exploring Joshua Tree from both North entrances. Also pretty perfectly located in-between the towns of 29 Palms and downtown Joshua Tree. The turn off for Lee Rd was a bit tricky in the dark and the road was just fine even in our super low clearance rental car... What a treat to roll in in the dark and wake up in Wonderland! It was so awesome to come back from the park and chill in the hot tup - wow was there a star show! and hearing coyotes in the distance was a treat too. The beds were heaven, the decor is adorable and we will absolutely be back!

My husband and I spent a relaxing weekend here. We enjoyed the the location between Yucca and Joshua Tree. The house was easy to get to and access to Joshua Tree NP was easy and not as busy as the other entrance. We grilled outside and enjoyed the hot tub after a fun day of hiking in the park. The neighbors were quiet and it was nice and dark for star gazing. Definitely read the info book, as our water pressure was low, and it would have been an easy adjustment if we had read the book before checkout. It does have a dirt road to the house but there is a paved spot to park and our little Honda with low profile tires had no issue getting out to the house. Overall it was an excellent stay!

We stayed here for 5 nights during our move out from Twentynine Palms. The beds are super comfy. The views are amazing! All the amenities are as described. Any issues we encountered were either addressed in the prpperty guide, or quickly answred byt the owner. The only slight concern we had was, each road into the property is a single lane dirt road. However, there is very little traffic so this did not end up being an issue. We would definitely recommend!

My wife and I stayed here after the election and it was just what we needed to decompress and re-energize. The property is quite isolated, which is what we were looking for, but close to two entrances to Joshua Tree National Park. The hot tub is great and the decor in the place was charming and welcoming. We absolutely loved it.

This was a lovely, well equipped, immaculately clean house, full of useful amenities, with a lovely outdoor setup that includes a spa, fire-pit, hammock, and bbq. The downside for us was that it was not quite the private, secluded, peaceful stargazing trip we needed. During our stay, there was a group of RVs, trucks, and ATV's partying all night each day well into the early morning- loud music, ATV sounds. The host communicated well and was empathetic, but there was nothing much they could do outside of lodging a complaint to the city. The host mentioned they are only there a few times a year, so other visitors may not have that experience or mind it.

Desert Playground is highly recommended…would play here again! ?The indoor space was great for two people and two four-leggers. Wife and I loved the décor and the amenities. Too numerous to list but really liked the neon sign, the bidet, live plants, and the comfy bed. Nice touches. The outdoor space was something to behold and perfect for all kinds of impromptu photo shoots. Nice location for some drone footage too. It was very central to the things we wanted to do: Pioneertown (27 min), Glass Outhouse Gallery (17 min), Pappy and Harriet’s (27 min), etc. The hot tub was in such a neat little area. The remote bathtubs were so unique (and really fancy looking). Loved the chillin’ area right off the primary bedroom too. Last, our host was super responsive and I imagine if we had any issues he would have been on top of it. We really enjoyed our stay here. Thanks Andrew!

At first glance you get a little worried because nobody is around but then the quiet sounds of the desert are calming. When the sun starts to set that’s a sight itself that’s not even including the stars at night! The inside was beautiful and I loved the living room. Also, Andrew answered fast if there was any question. You will run into an ant here or there but overall I really enjoyed this place. Highly recommend and definitely a stress reliever. Thanks again Andrew.
