Located in the heart of Hermantown, Square 37 is a new residential development that highlights an array of tree lined sidewalks and paved roads. The project is strategically located on the northeast corner of Arrowhead Road and Ugstad Road, across the street from the Hermantown Hockey Arena, and adjacent to the Essentia Health Regional Wellness Center (YMCA).
The name Square 37 is derived from the deep history of the Jackson Project, a back-to-the-land initiative of the 1930s that stimulated early development in Hermantown. It provided working families with affordable homes and enough land to grow gardens and raise animals. The first set of houses were completed in 1937 and it was one of nearly a hundred communities across the country, constructing eighty-four single family homes in Hermantown.
The quaint brick farmhouses that line rural roads in Hermantown are among the community's most historic features. Nearly 80 years later, Square 37 will beautifully anchor the northeast corner of the original Jackson settlement at Arrowhead and Ugstad Road, bringing attention back to the intersection where the historical Hermantown Locker Plant and Co-op once stood.

My husband and I stayed with our two adult children and their significant others. The home was perfect. It had everything we needed, was conveniently located and was so comfortable, we did not want to leave. The space was perfect for six adults and had plenty of space had there been more of us. The kitchen was very nice for making meals. The table was perfect for playing games. The living room and loft were both cozy for conversation and movie watching. The deep tub came in handy when my daughter had a migraine and wanted to take a bath. We will not hesitate to book this home again.
This was a wonderful place for me and my sisters to stay for the weekend. So clean and nice.
Easy to find, very nice layout, had a little issue with the door code. They had given us the wrong one but only took about 20 minutes to get it straighten out.
Enjoyed our stay. Home was clean and nicely appointed. Garage was big with plenty of room to park two cars.
This property is beautiful! The dryer wasnt working when we got there but they sent someone out right away. Very clean & the decor & colors are stunning. We came up for a softball tournament in Cloquet. It was so nice to have a beautiful house to come back & sleep at. Its a great location, 25 mins from Cloquet, 20 mins from Canal Park. We would definitely stay there again! Thank you!
