Sisu Shores: Lakefront Home with Private Beach and Wood Burning Sauna

We greatly enjoyed our stay. Very comfortable despite the power outage caused by the storm. Meredith was responsive and accommodating.

Sisu Shores was absolutely lovely. The home was cozy, clean and well prepared with any of the necessary amenities a guest might need. Our family enjoyed the provided puzzles and games on the amazing four season porch, toasty from the easy to use gas fireplace. The lake views were excellent, we enjoyed watched the barges come in and out of Canal Park. It was extra special to be able to enjoy the lakeshore. While we didn't have time to take advantage of the fire ring or sauna both are just steps from the lake. I would recommend staying at Sisu Shores to anyone looking for an exceptionally comfortable stay on Superior just a short drive from Canal Park. Thank you, Meredith!

Wow. This place was amazing. Not only was it beautiful and cozy, but the host pays a high attention to detail on the property to ensure a great stay. We had all the supplies to cook meals, blankets, board games, and even black washcloths for make-up. I really appreciate all the effort put into this property it felt like a home away from home. The host was responsive to all of our questions, and overall I think we had a perfect stay. Can't wait to come back.

We had a wonderful stay! The home was very beautiful and had many thoughtful amenities. I would highly recommend. The only drawback is only one bathroom on the second level.

An overall wonderful house! I love old houses and this one has kept its character over the years. Lots of comfy furniture for us to sit on and visit. We actually only used the outdoor furniture and the porch furniture because it was so nice outside. My friends were thrilled that I found this house. Thanks for sharing this beautiful space.

One of THE best rentals on the North Shore if you want to be near Canal Park and have quick access up the shore. We can't wait to stay whenever we book. It is so well-appointed and provides guests with ultra comfortable beds, many options for cozy activities or resting and an amazing back porch/sauna/lake experience. 20 out of 10!

Sisu Shores was a perfect getaway from the busy twin cities. I was able to enjoy some quiet family time in the comfort of a property that perfectly supported the needs of our family. The house was clean, comfortable, provided high quality kitchen experience, and beautiful views (including Canal park in the distance). The water pressure was phenomenal and the bathroom was spotless. The sauna was a perfect compliment to the property that allowed my husband and son to learn about his family’s Finnish roots and cold plunge into Lake Superior. It’s close to parks, a grocery store (which had surprisingly great prices), pleasant community, and close to spaces that allowed our family to explore all that Duluth has to offer.

This is my husband & I's first time staying at this property.We absolutely loved the location! Nothing says relaxation like being beachfront!Amenities galore but we spent most of our time on the sun porch, deck or down on the beach. Would definitely stay here again.

This was my second experience at this property. The first time was so wonderful I wanted to share it with my parents and siblings. The hosts are prompt to respond with any questions and have created the most welcoming and rejuvenating environment. We enjoyed every moment at this property. Every detail of the description of this home is accurate, I would even say it’s better in person. You will not be disappointed!!

We are so grateful for an amazing weekend celebrating our son’s graduation from UMD! He did the official cold plunge after the wonderful sauna. Absolutely loved making memories at this beautiful home.

My wife and I had a nice quick weekend stay here. The house is very nice. We stayed in early April so it was a little cold for a bonfire or sitting on the deck, but the Sauna was very nice

We loved our stay in this cute home. Incredible layout for cooking, hanging out, and eating. Bedrooms were well stocked with towels, extra pillows, comfy beds.We loved the porch space with the gas fireplace- great for games and hanging out. Meredith was incredibly responsive and helped get the sauna going for us, we so appreciate it!

We really enjoyed this property. Incredible location on Lake Superior within walking distance to a grocery store and great access to all that Duluth has to offer. Beds were comfortable and the house was really clean. Especially enjoyed the sauna. Internet access was able to accommodate streaming and video calls. Highly recommend.

You will not be disappointed! Sisu Shores is a lovely house on the waters edge, conveniently located, and beautifully decorated. Everything you need for a getaway - including coffee & snacks. Smart TVs throughout, and the sauna is a bonus!

A beautiful home that was beautiful yet simply decorated. A perfect place that gave us the ability to relax and enjoy time with family. The spacious kitchen was fully equipped to cook meals, we ate at the dining room table or back porch table. Favorite place to relax was comfortable sofa on back porch with gas fireplace, perfect to watch the winter storm on the lake. Questions were answered quickly and we added extra night due to weather . A lovely visit!

We stayed here with our 2, 7, and 10 year-old kids. We basically lived in the back room with the cozy fireplace and incredible Lake Superior views! We took advantage of the grill for cooking dinner, and were able to get the sauna heated up with ease. Almost every night was spent at the dining room table playing a game from the game cabinet! Overall, a fantastic place for my family to unwind and enjoy the lake!

Great location and property.

I had a wonderful long-weekend stay here with my husband, baby, and parents. The house was beautiful, well cared for, and stocked with ever thing we needed for our stay. The back sun room looking out on the lake was a great place to read, the location was super convenient, and Meredith was very responsive and helpful. Best of all was the wood burning sauna, which we used every day. Would definitely come back.

We enjoyed time spent in Duluth area visiting family. The Lake made us feel as if we were up the North Shore yet still in the city and able to run to a grocery store or establishments close by. Spent time in a beautiful home playing board games and using the sauna. Would definitely recommend to friends and family. Awesome place.

The property is absolutely beautiful, and the decor is amazing! I have a bachelor of science degree in interior design and this place is spot on. I left some cheese behind as a thank you for my hosts. I really liked the fact that there were smart TVs and every bedroom and in the living room. There was a cute little Bluetooth speaker so I could listen to music or whatever I was watching remotely. I watched surfers, keep in mind that was October, late October, crash on the beach. Always something in Duluth! Fantastic host and great location. I was able to walk up and down the shoreline and actually within walking distance of Glensheen. Well for me anyway.

You walk into n and feel at home. It s a comfortable home with amazing view. If air is chilly you have a couple fireplaces to warm you up or hope in the sauna which is a hit with our family. All accommodations are great. You will not be disappointed.

We love the North Shore and really needed a few days away for a respite and opportunity to recharge and Meredith's rental was nothing short of amazing. Every attention to detail from comfort of beds to amazing views to fireplaces and a fab kitchen....then to the sauna and the direct lake access. A true gem so appreciated. As an interior designer, details matter as does order and cleanliness and this was honestly a treat for me!

Easily one of the best VRBO stays we have ever had. We had 5 adults staying here for a family wedding weekend. House had everything we needed & was located right on the lake with beautiful views. We escaped to the north shore for a weekend getaway as two best friends whose daughters are also best friends. Sisu Shores was the perfect backdrop. The house is so charming and incredibly well appointed. The decor is spot on, the common spaces are generous and perfectly placed, the beds are deep and comfortable, and the special touches too many to mention. All of that is surpassed however by the amazing home location, private beach, and glorious views of Lake Superior. Can’t say enough how truly top-notch this property is and how much we enjoyed our stay. We’ll be back!

We stayed at Sisu Shores and we're really impressed by the home and location. The home is beautiful with impressive views of Lake Superior and it was comfortable for my whole family. My son enjoyed playing in the water and finding stones on the beach and the adults enjoyed the sauna and doing a cold plunge in the lake. I highly recommend Sisu Shores for your next trip to Duluth!

This is probably our favorite VRBO of all time. The rocky beach and sauna were awesome. So peaceful and beautiful inside and out. Can’t wait to come back.

We absolutely loved this home. Great (and well equipped) kitchen, bright sunroom facing the lake, so close to the bike path, and a sauna that didn’t disappoint. The decor was also terrific. Can’t wait to come back!
